This retreat was discovered by us through a random online search. We are so glad we made such an inspired choice! From the booking through Expedia through email correspondence with our hostess Emma, through meeting her at Honey Suckle Cottages after a pleasant 2.5 hour drive from Brisbane, all went perfectly.
The cottage was spotlessly presented with every necessity including lots of firewood for the very effective stove. The basket of DIY breakfast groceries was more than enough for us for the two night stay. We are already planning our next midweek stay - probably a bit longer!

My Wife booked Honeysuckle Cottages for our 3 day stay in Stanthorpe. We had a little trouble getting into Stanthorpe ( due to flooding in the area) the owner of the cottages was very flexible and understood if we couldn't make it on the day and offered to change days of our stay. Long story short we had to wait at Allora for the bridge in Warwick to be cleared and checked.

The check-in was straight forward and Emma made us feel very welcome , she was very down to earth and her family was lovely people We got a breakfast basket filled with food from the area. (Yummy)

The cottages are cosy and clean, and surrounded by tall gum trees, the cottages have a kitchen with stovetop, microwave and small fridge. In the lounge room nice comfortable couch and chair with a DVD player and Tv and there is a good DVD library at reception.

The cottage is air conditioned and has a fireplace.

The bathroom has a spa/shower and vanity and toilet and lastly, has washing machine and dryer just outside of the bathroom.

We did have a minor issue with the cottage and Emma and the team sorted it out the next morning.

Honeysuckle Cottages is located just off the New England highway, there is a Ampol petrol station and McDonald's on the corner of the street you need to take to get to Honeysuckle Cottages. The road noise from the highway and petrol station and McDonald's is non existent.

I have no issues and will definitely stay at Honeysuckle Cottages when we visit the Stanthorpe area again.

We have stayed several times at Honeysuckle Cottages, and will continue to book there.

The owners have changed since our last stay, 3 or 4 years ago, but Emma and her husband are fabulous hosts: friendly, helpful, informative, efficient.

We were a party of 3 couples. Each cottage was clean and well maintained. The breakfast hampers supplied easily lasted the 3 mornings we were there; and the wood was plentiful for the fires which we needed overnight.

3 kms from the centre of town.

My wife and I were in a cottage, which was probably the closest of all the cottages to the New England Highway, albeit separated by a high fence, and approx 100 metres. We slept like babies, in the warm cottage, with no impact of any traffic noise.

We are more than happy to recommend Honeysuckle Cottages.

Arrived at Honeysuckle early Sunday afternoon and was met by a very polite young man (about 4 ) who “had to go and get his mum” who was busy elsewhere.

The check in process went smoothly and we were provided with keys and breakfast hamper (eggs / bacon / bread / milk / apples / various jams) which all looked nice.

The Villas (we were in #2) are described as luxurious but I think that’s a bit of a stretch – sure they are neat / tidy and clean but the furniture / kitchen and bathroom are dated as is the carpet that had a number of stains on it -in fact there was an old piece of carpet just sitting in front of the fireplace which I’m not sure why it was needed for as it was in worse condition than the original carpet. The beds are really good and the elec blankets are welcomed but our Villa was crying out for an upgrade and some $ to be spent on it.

The property is directly next door to a 24 hours Service Station and McDonalds but that was not an issue and the place is very quiet with no road / related noise.

Would I go back…………….not sure .

These cottages are cute and very clean. The hosts are very helpful and the breakfast basket is very generous. Local produce is used and toiletries are from local businesses. You have a choice of aircon or a beautiful fireplace. It’s on the outskirts of town and everything is of close proximity.
Wineries and brewery are just down the road. We also hiked Girraween National Park. We also took our own bikes and rode the country back road.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and treated like friends. Some great tourist info from the lady at reception and helpful insight. Cottages are far enough apart that, although you can see the next cottage through the bush setting, you don't really know anyone else is around once your inside.
The fire was lovely and even made our room a bit too hot! Spa and bed were all we could ask for.
The breakfast hamper was lovely - lots of delicious treats, ample food for our two day stay and lovely to have some local produce included.
Kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed.
As it was a busy time in Stanthorpe we couldn't get into the restaurants we wanted to (book ahead people!) so had take away in our lovely cottage.
We had a one bedroom cottage - just the two of us for our anniversary.
Wifi was slow so we just used our data.
Highly recommend - would return for sure....perhaps for a different type of holiday with the children.

From the point we got here at honeysuckle cottages it was a great experience,
We were met from the lovely owner Anna, she was informative and very helpful.
Our cottage no 1 is a studio style cottage, it has a old world 1900s style charm, we were wowed from the time we opened the door, it's cute and warm.
Breakfast hamper is great and well worth the stay here.
Being a road back from the main road I have noticed no road noise and this is because of the double glazing it is great. Not to mention the comfy bed.
The question is ,would we come back -yes defiantly especially if you can appreciate the old world charm they have made these cottages to be.

We stayed at Honeysuckle cottages for 4 nights and it was a great place to stay - beautiful setting with all the trees. Emma was so lovely and helpful. The breakfast baskets are awesome. There was plenty of wood for the fires which we really needed as it was very cold but the cottage was well insulated. It is a little out of town but as we had a car it wasn't a problem for us. We would definitely stay here again if we come back.

Charming cottages; it was clear to us that they have been prepared with love and thoughtfulness. There are so many little touches to make them feel cosy and inviting. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We thoroughly recommend them.

This was a wonderful week away. Emma and her husband Renato made us very welcome and the daily breakfast hampers were amazing filled with fresh produce. The cottage was cozy and we used the fireplace every night. Will definitely head back there in the near future.
