Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We recently celebrated our 20-year wedding anniversary and wanted a romantic weekend away from the busyness of our daily lives. Granite Gardens was the perfect place for us to reflect, reconnect, and recharge. Chris & Lynne are wonderful hosts and we had everything we could need. The fridge was stocked with local ingredients to make our daily breakfasts and the spa bath was the perfect way to relax and soothe our tired muscles after hiking through Girraween National Park. It's a bonus that dogs can also stay at the cottages because a lot of the restaurants and wineries in the area are dog-friendly. Highly recommend Granite Gardens if you want a tranquil retreat with some luxuries. Can't wait to return.

I you want a quiet couple getaway, Granite Gardens Cottages and Lake Retreat is the ideal choice. Chris and Lynne were wonderful hosts and had no objections to the inclusion of our small dog joining us. We wanted a place to celebrate our fifteenth anniversarywhere we could see the Granite belt sights and wineries with a bit of seclusion and Granite Gardens ticked all the boxes. With only three couple cabins there is never a time you feel as though other guests are in your space. We've stayed in various "couple" accommodation's in Australia and overseasus, but Granite Gardens leaves most wanting. For us I think we have found our goto when we need a break from the city lights.

After the recent passing of my mum we decided to get away and spend our anniversary weekend at Granite Gardens Cottages, a 6 hour drive from home. We booked online 6 weeks ahead and received confirmation of our booking. A week out we received another email asking us what time we would arrive. Imagine our surprise when we were told on arrival that our cottage had already been booked by someone else. Being Berry Festival weekend alternate accommodation was hard to find. We were offered a free weekend away to compensate, we would get an email with an offer, 6 weeks later we still haven't heard a word. Be careful the fellow had zero empathy and had to use our own mobile phone to call around a couple of places as his phone wasn't working, one being the local Motel in the main st....not what we were expecting. We did find a lovely couple at Ben Alpine who had just opened their B&B who went beyond helpful to make our weekend memorable. Be careful they just made excuses that it wasn't their fault. Exactly who's fault was it, we had all the booking documentation. A friend recommended this place as they are frequent visitors, that's why we booked in the first place. When told what happened to us they also said they'd not go back there again.

My wife and I love these cottages. They are perfect for a romantic getaway. The hosts Chris and Lynne are very accommodating, and the cottages are beautifully maintained. The fridge is stocked with the necessities for a great breakfast, plus a vast array of delicious snacks. The cottages are far enough away from the noise of the town and the highways to be lovely and quiet, but not too far from the National Parks and vineyards We loved the fireplace, and the reverse cycle air to get the cottage warm and toasty before the fire kicks in. You simply must stay at these cottages at least once, when you are in the area!

An amazing location for a getaway. The hosts(Chris & Lynne) provide all the comforts in their accommodation. Fireplace, A/C , electric blankets , breakfast and very clean and comfortable decor. Just outside Stanthorpe and close to the wineries. We will certainly be returning.

We have visited Stanthorpe every winter for many years and I have to say we have found our favourite place to unwind. The location is great and the cottage we stayed in (Cunningham) was very clean and well stocked with local treats. It was pleasure to go for morning & afternoon walks around this beautiful property with our cavoodle Maggie, she loved it! Chris & Lynn are very friendly and are great hosts. We can highly recommend Granite Gardens Cottages and we will definitely be back next winter. Thank you. Stephen & Janette

This is a perfect location to stay for a Granite Belt winery tour and sightseeing weekend, with a very scenic lake and garden surrounds. Lynne the host was very helpful providing good information about the area for things to do and places to eat. The cottage was supplied with ample facilities, very clean, neat and tidy inside and out. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

We loved our stay in this lovely location. So quite, clean and close to Stanthorpe. Only thing so people might fine a problem is stairs within the cottages as bedroom is raised. Owners are fantastic. Going back in 6 weeks
