Top of the Town is located within walking distance of local shops and businesses. We provide a broad range of air conditioned accommodation options, including motel rooms, cabins, pet friendly cabins and caravan sites, powered and non powered. We also have a single person rate. We provide free gas barbeques in all of our three camp kitchens. Our amenities are clean and modern, and you can chose to stay close by them, or camp in secluded bush camp sites scattered around the park, and enjoy the native birds animals. We have ample room for parking, and have a conference room, attached to a commercial kitchen, so catering for large groups is one of our specialities. We are located next door to the Stanthorpe showgrounds, which regularly has events, so you can stroll there and back, no problem. Also next door, the Stanthorpe museum! We are surrounded by wineries, fruit orchards, and national parks, micro breweries, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There's simply something here for everyone!

What a peaceful place... walking around the Hida old town was so relaxing after Takayama. We look for authentic experienced. If you go to Toyama hop a train to Hida then takayama. You will wish you stayed in Hida like we did.
You can also hop on a local bus fron Takayama about 380 yen one way 40 minutes. (Nori Bus co.)
Takayama is geared towards tourism. However Due to lack of staff availability many shops restaurants have changing opening hours which was frustrating.. mostly closed.

We booked a self contained cabin with separate bedroom and kitchenette however when we arrived we were given keys to a motel room and told to use the camp kitchen. We are elderly people with limited mobility which is why we booked the self contained cabin. When we arrived we were told there was no cabins available and we needed to take a motel room. The camp kitchen was totally insufficient with only a couple of dirty and worn pans so we had to eat out which we could not afford
We loved Stanthorpe but will never stay at this tourist park again!

We stayed in Stanthorpe, drought affected and on emergency water restrictions, to spend our tourist money. The caravan park, on the edge of town, offers every traveller what they need: powered and unpowered sites, cabins, a motel, lodge, three camp kitchens, lots of amenities, even a pool! They ask that you have short showers and don’t wash cars or vans, but they make you very welcome and suggest lots of great local attractions. A lovely spot for a night, a week or even longer. We’ll be back!

We stayed overnight at a powered site in the bush beautiful garden environment. Camped under a tree with the sun setting the birds calling and the pit fire crackling- was a highlight of our trip. There were lots of nearby ammenities and the park was well organised and laid out with everything sight posted and easy to find. A great spot. We will be back.

We stayed at Top of the Town with a group of friends and our kids for a week.
The service and communication was great and they really accommodated us so we had a terrific stay.
The park is quite big with a variety of sites for camping and vans and also cabins and motel style rooms. We had a few vans, a camper trailer and a cabin and were able to all be in the same area together. The park is on a hill but the sites are level and on the generous side of average in size.
While it is a little sandy and rocky that’s the granite belt and the park is quite picturesque with lots of trees including some beautiful poplars and stretches from the Main Street of Stanthorpe up to the top of a hill overlooking the town and surrounds.
The facilities are excellent, in particular the amenities which are large and fairly new and some of the best I’ve seen. There’s a good camp kitchen, a big games room, laundry, pool, and plenty of space for the kids to explore and ride their bikes.
The park is a 15 minute walk to the centre of town or a short bike ride and there’s a local taxi service which gets you to the cafes, pubs and restaurants in town for less than $10. Golf course across the road and mountain bike trails a 10 minute ride away and of course so much in and around Stanthorpe to do.
Lastly the rates are very reasonable and make it a really affordable holiday.

We stayed in a motel room and it was tidy/clean. The only issue we had is that parking isn't marked and there are no lines. So other rooms parked in front of our room and the cars were so spaced out they were taking up multiple spaces. Meaning with young kids we had to park some distance away and walk back to our room.

After staying in a beautiful 2 bedroom cabin amid vineyards, a perfect view, great kitchen and all linen included..for the same price as this placed charged was shocking. This park was way overpriced. The cabins were clean enough, but beware. The bunk bed mattresses are made with a vinyl overlay which is very cold during winter. The staff were lovely (especially Kerrie) but with our friends getting a family cabin with 2 seperate bedrooms, and us only having one bedroom, and bunks in the lounge, I feel ripped off that they were they were the same price.

We checked in for only one night but after seeing the facilities and park itself we decided to stop for another night. The park is reasonably priced. Very well maintained. Toilet/showers spotless. We used the laundry which again was spotless. Would recommend this caravan park to anyone visiting Stanthorpe. As a bonus A heritage museum located beside the park is well worth a visit.

This tourist park is fantastic! The staff was so welcoming and friendly! The bathrooms were clean and fresh, as was the kitchen. The gardens are well-maintained. The sites are big - we had a large campervan and there was plenty of room for us, without encroaching on our neighbours' privacy. It's a great location from which to visit the wineries and other attractions. Town is probably about a 15-minute walk from the campground. We are already planning the next trip. Highly recommend this park!!!

We took our New Van up to Stanthorpe and spent three great days in a very beautiful picturesque Van park. What we asked for was very well catered for. I would recommend this park as a base for days trips on the granite belt.
Only negative is some things are getting a little dated and need a bit of TLC. Otherwise 👍
