We rocked in on a wet Tuesday night around 7:30pm as a second choice. We intended to eat at nearby Holly’s Cafe but available info posted incorrect opening hours and we found Holly’s closed.
Crowded is always a good sign but we found a table near the woodburner which gave the main dining area a cosy inviting atmosphere. The decor is a mix of traditional and a mishmash of so so Reno’s over the years. The vertical timber panelling and pressed metal ceiling near the kitchen deserves to be featured. The place has enormous potential with a makeover.
Staff were friendly, attentive, helpful, all in corporate tshirts and easily identifiable. COVID checkin and sanitiser at the door. The bar in the dining area lacked the range of beers and drinks expected in a pub but after finding my way through the rabbit Warren of doorways out the back I found the public bar and a chatty helpful bartender who pointed me to a great range of cold beers and spirits. So if you know what you want you might be able to ask for it at the dining room bar.
Menu: typically pub fare, the chicken parmy looked massive (others were eating this) but the bangers and mash won out and very popular with patrons that night. I ordered battered Barra with steamed veg which was really awful. Veg ok - not over cooked but the fish was dry, very thin fillet that tasted like it had had been microwaved. Very tough and tasteless. Disappointing for a $22 meal.
Atmosphere was great. Recommended for a mid priced pub meal in friendly surrounds. Don’t touch the Barra.

WOW - what a fabulous facility! We were part of a very large group visiting Stanthorpe for the weekend . There were almost 40 of us - for a Christmas in June dinner and O'Mara's staff excelled in every way. Our tables were decorated beautifully and suitably for 'Christmas' and the very generous meal was just delicious. Served efficiently and hot by the friendliest of staff They catered to all dietary requirements. And the desserts were absolutely delish as well. Congratulations to the entire team and a BIG WELL DONE!!

While staying the weekend in Stanthorpe, we found limited dining options available for a Sunday night, so decided to try O'Mara's for dinner for our family of four. Turned out to be a great choice! From the Schnitty, pie and house rissoles ordered, everyone enjoyed their substantial meal. Definitely recommend for a casual pub dinner and we would visit again if in the area.

Looked lovely and welcoming from the footpath. Beautiful stained glass windows. Booked for the 530pm Dinner Sitting, Tuesday night. I would imagine that is vital, because the Dining Room with it's lovely warming fireplace was packed by 545pm! We had a Mushroom and Chicken Pie with Chips and Salad and a 300gram Steak with Pepper Sauce and Vegetables. DELICIOUS! Accompanied by local white wine and a local cider. Service was order and pay at the Bar for drinks and order and pay at the Kitchen for Meals. Very prompt delivery of drinks and then our meals. Staff very helpful and the room was very cosy with the Log Fireplace. Enjoyed our meals so much that next night . . . We got the same meals to Takeaway, the standard was equally good.

We went to the O’Mara Hotel for lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We both decided to have the Steak Sandwich for lunch. It was a large feed for us with a nice tender piece of steak, and salad on a bun and served with chips. We also had a pint of Guinness which was great. Nice food, nice atmosphere and family friendly.

My partner and I stopped in for a drink and were warmly welcomed by the bar lady and the locals. We decided to revisit the pub that night for dinner and I was surpirised at their array of gluten free options. The food was delicious and from a Coeliac who is always on the lookout for more options than steak and salad, their home made gf pies with gf sauces were a winner. O'Mara's dining room was warm, homely and inviting. Smiles all around. Their local wines on offer were reasonably priced too. Unfortunately, they were out of their local granite cider but will be sure to try this next time we stop by!

We had dinner here based on the reviews and from a number of referrals. Something must have gone terribly wrong as it was dreadful. The meals were big but I’m not really sure what I ate! I ordered schnitzel but it had no taste and could have been anything crumbed. My partner has bangers and mash that also came with chips and veges. He wanted a pepperoni pizza as listed on the menu but there was no pepperoni!!!! There was a lot of discontent in the restaurant and in the kitchen. The person next to us ordered 2 courses and it all came at once. The wines on the menu were not available but fortunately there were others. We were disappointed with our visit and wouldn’t go back.

We were in town for a few days just after the Covid restrictions began lifting and were super pleased with our easy little counter meal at O’Mara’s. The bar staff were friendly, we were able to eat at the counter and everyone ordered the beef pie! Great atmosphere on a cold night in Stanners! You do need to book ahead if you want to have a restaurant sit down meal in the other section. As we ordered the pub started to reach capacity for covid regulations so I’d suggest getting there early.

Eat here recently while staying elsewhere in Stanthorpe. We all enjoyed some tasty pub grub for dinner, parmies and pies were delicious. I also enjoyed a good pint of Guinness. Will return next time we’re in the area.

Absolutely horrible service from waitress , felt like we weren't wanted there. Meal was nice but the service was terrible, left as soon as we ate, as didn't want to spend another cent there. If you want money spent in your business, hire the right people. Had a Meal down the road the night before, great service!
