My wife and I spent 4 nights in Stanthorpe. The first two nights with friends at another cottage accomodation and the last two nights on our own at Quaffers
Quaffers would leave any other accomodation in its wake as it is 5 star luxury. We had a one bedroom cabin with a sofa bed and a fireplace which was more than sufficient to heat the cabin on a winter stay. The cabin was well appointed and set out beautifully and was very functional. There are seven cabins in total and are well spaced, private and blend into the surroundings. There is even a concrete pad next to your cabin to park your car on and ensures that no dirt is draped into your car or the cabin. The hosts Paul and Deb were wonderful and actually showed us through the accomodation and also advised us on the best places to visit on our trip.
You got to choose the breakfast that you had to cook as everything is supplied down to the milk, bread and orange juice etc. we decided on pancakes and bacon and eggs which was more than ample. Great coffee machine is also provided.
The cabin was impeccable in cleanliness and presentation with the owners have a great eye for detail. Wood for the fireplace was tucked away in a cupboard in the wall next to it and it is replaced from the outside by the owners on a daily basis. Full instructions are given and the fire is lit for your convenience and no smoke was emitted from the fireplace due to this. There was no need for the reverse cycle air-conditioner as the fireplace was brilliant.
Bedroom was so roomy and the bed very comfortable providing an excellent two nights sleep. Large spacious fully tiled bathroom with rain shower, bath and heat lamps being an added bonus.
Located between town and Balladean so only 15-20 minutes to either location.
The view from the cabin is great and once the dam fills more it will be even better.
The set-up and thought that has gone into the cabins would rival some luxury accomodation places that we have stayed at previously around Australia.
Highly recommended

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin for 5 nights. The cabin was perfect - spacious and comfortable with all the required features. The host Debbie was very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. When we arrived the temperature was 6C and it was wonderful to walk into a warm cabin with a cosy fire already going. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom had both a walk-in shower and large bathtub. The kitchen had a gas bench top cooker and all the crockery and cooking utensils necessary for self-catering. A breakfast pack with a range of options was provided for each day. There are 7 cabins on the site and they are spaced well apart to provide privacy. The site is beside Storm King Dam which is a short 10 minute drive to Stanthorpe and conveniently located to visit all the Granite Belt sites.

Just got back from another wonderful stay at Quaffers. It feels like a home away from home. Paul and Deb are the loveliest hosts. This was our 2nd Easter stay and the kids look forward to the bbq and bonfire night they put on over Easter. All cabins we have stayed in have been consistently well maintained and luxurious. They’re all so spacious and areas well proportioned.
Location couldn’t be better for exploring the region and wonderful restaurants like Balancing Heart Winery where we had pizzas one night.
Thank you Deb and Paul. We look forward to our next stay.

Perfectly appointed self-contained 5 star accommodation, with everything you could possibly require and then some! Beautifully designed cabins with comfortable modern furnishings and spacious. Exemplary level of cleanliness. King bed was exceptionally comfortable with electric blankets fitted. Just beautiful. Surroundings are so picturesque and so very peaceful. Relaxation guaranteed sitting by the woodfire enjoying locally sourced wine. Could easily have stayed for a whole week.
Thank you to our amazing hosts Deb & Paul who are just beautiful. If you are thinking of staying in Stanthorpe, we highly recommend Quaffers on Storm King. This place ticks all the boxes and more!!!! ♥️

The cabin's at Quaffers on Storm King are first class accommodation in the Aussie bush. No expense has been spared in fitting out these modern cabins. Many appliances and utensils to prepare a home cooked meal. The cabins are about halfway between Stanthorpe and Ballandean, so not far from wineries.

We stayed for a long weekend mid winter and absolutely loved this property. Debbie & Paul were amazing - very welcoming and clearly very good at what they do. Quaffers offers the complete wine tour and fireside experience and the accomodation was immaculate and luxurious. The cabins are equipped with everything you need down - the attention to detail is exceptional. Highly recommend ordering from the in-house menu for dinners or happy hour nibbles by the fire or down by the fire pit at the dam. We will definitely be back but next time we will allow more time to relax and enjoy the Quaffers tranquility and surroundings!

We stayed in Stanthorpe and Girraween for 5 nights, 3 of which were at Quaffers. It was the perfect base to explore the surrounds. Everything is thought of and provided for at Quaffers. The accommodation is modern, spacious, comfortable and well designed. Breakfast supplies are included and were a great touch. The kitchen is well appointed. Paul and Deb were very helpful - we received useful information about things to do/bookings required prior to arrival - but also relaxed. The town centre is not far but a car is required. Girraween national park is about 35 minutes drive. I warmly recommend Quaffers and would definitely return.

We had an exceptional weekend staying in the immaculate 2 bedroom cottage at Quaffers. The accommodation is new and surpassed our expectations of comfort. The living area is spacious and comfortable with a great fireplace- all wood supplied, couches and blankets and a huge TV which we didn’t even turn on! Breakfast supplies were generous and delicious. Both bedrooms had king beds and separate air conditioning. The en-suites were sparkling clean with luxurious linen and shampoos/soap. There are fire braziers and seating down by the dam also for guest use. Quaffers is situated on Storm King dam about 12 minutes from Stanthorpe. There are numerous wineries within minutes drive in both directions. Access to Girraween national park is also only minutes away. All in all an exceptional place to stay. We will definitely be returning.

Had a wonderful weekend away with my partner. Deb was an absolute pleasure to deal with and was able to organise a bottle of champers and balloons for my partners Birthday. The cabin was immaculate, well provisioned, modern whilst still being very cozy and intimate. The view to the lake was fantastic. The accommodation is an easy drive to all the wineries and areas of local interest. There is no phone/internet reception at the cabin but that actually adds to the charm and the 'getting away' from everyone. I would hands down recommend Quaffers and will definitely stay again. Thanks Deb & Paul for a wonderful experience.
