During our week in St George we dined at Australian Hotel 3 times. I recommend the Supreme Vegetarian Pizza $28 and more than enough for 2 people. Sunday roast is $24 - lamb, verges, gravy. On Wednesday night there is Musical Bingo - fun and has prizes to win. This building is lovely art deco design right on the riverfront. The beer garden out back is cool. Great place!

Excellent food and service. We had lunch here and the food was so fresh and delicious. I had the Barra and chips with salad. Can’t believe the wonderful big helpings. My husband had pork and verges and also a big helping. Well done St George! Will visit again when in the area.

If you want to sleep, spend a little extra and stay at one of the Motels in town. Carpet in room was heavily stained and some other patrons partied on all night. I finally drifted off to sleep after 2am then woke about 4.30 am and they were still partying on. Water pressure in shower was great and meals were served promptly.

What an absolute s@$t show. Ordered dinner and still waiting 1.5 hours later. They said it was because of function. Trouble is I ordered half an hour before those attending the function. They have all eaten. A totally amateur operation. The worst pub experience ever. Will never come back even though regularly here on business . DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOUR AND DONT EAT HERE EVER!!!

We were advised to come here, as was told the best food in town. It was appalling. I chose the Sunday Roast' with roast Vegs..'special of the day'. I was so looking forward to this...As we are travelling .....and this is 'beef country'.... It has definitely been cooked the day before...reheated with a gravy thrown on top. Potato's were halved chats (microwaved as they were wrinkly)..and thrown in a pan or oven yo brown off, frozen peas and corn (barely warm) small stalk of boiled broccoli...and delight of delights..1 very small piece of steamed pumpkin...the only thing that was hot. I ate only the veggies...minus the pathetic potato's...as my husbands meal was delivered at the same time. Asked the waitresses over and was told, 'as I had eaten HALF of the meal 😲 too bad..so sad.😔 $24 I might add. Worst service....Don't go there!!! I'm a country girl...and I know how to cook!!!!Shame on you Australia Hotel St George!!An avid traveller around country Australia town...never come across such bad service!!! …

A couple of locals recommended this place for lunch and wow, it did not disappoint. My hubby had grilled barramundi and he said it was delicious. I had the nachos and it was the biggest serve I have ever seen as well as being so tasty. We would highly recommend coming for a meal.

Fabulous food and quick service by lovely backpackers. We did arrive early and ordered early as this is immensely popular for dinner. My husband had eye fillet and vegetables and I had the Barra and salad / chips. Excellent steak for my husband who likes it rare and even the chips were fabulous cooked in clean oil.

We were a party of four experienced travelers who went to the Australian for dinner. The staff were friendly in a genuine, non-forced way, and all were competent. The food was excellent, but a doggy bag might be needed by some because the portions are generous. The wine list was acceptable and fairly priced, as was the food. The restaurant is a bit hard to fault really.

So great to have a good pub restaurant on the premises ... a good selection on the menu and well-cooked. Lots of seating in various rooms and in the beer garden, where an open fire put out lots of heat. Great atmosphere and just across the road from the broad Ballonne River with its equally broad cement walking track. The motel rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. An earlier review mentioned an overpowering room freshener smell... yes, cleaners could cut back on this product... we aired the room for a while, but can't say it was offensive. It is a common issue with many motels. Plenty of room to manouevre vehicles and parking is outside the unit.
