The owners and staff were friendly and very helpful. Amanda and Charles(owners)made us feel very welcome. Had car problems and couldn’t drive the car and Amanda drove me into town to get some groceries. She went over and about to help us out. Nothing seems to be to much of a problem. The rooms a first class and would recommend everyone travelling to Roma to start here. Dom the chef went out of his way to get us back on the road.

We stayed here for one night (just to eat at the restaurant - perfect meal). Their family rooms were sold out so we got two king rooms, it cost a little more but they were very comfortable. The staff ensured our rooms were next to each other and there was a nice balcony with seating. Showers were really nice with excellent showerhead. Beds were super kings, lots of space and super comfortable. Staff were very friendly. There was a little road noise but nothing too intrusive and less than you would expect considering its location. You can walk to the Big Rig for the nighttime show which was another plus.

Great motel, super-helpful staff who really went out of their way to assist us, good size rooms well insulated and quiet. Comfortable beds and overall an excellent motel. Has a swimming pool and large oval next door for exercise. Also a really good restaurant (need to book, it’s popular!)

I stayed here last night on my huge roadtrip from Darwin to Brisbane. This was night no 4 for me of the 3000km drive. And let me tell you, this hotel is worth 5 stars! An absolutely beautiful spot to stay. The bed was soooo warm and comfortable! I will definitely stay here the next time I made a trip inland. I’d love to explore this cute little town. The staff were so lovely and I felt I was being looked after by family. Dinner in the restaurant was perfect!

We had a couple of nights at the Overlander Homestead Motel and we cannot speak highly enough about our experience. The owners Amanda and Charles are so well suited to their profession of providing accommodation and making people on a holiday feel joyful, relaxed and safe. The Beds: Absolutely perfect. King Size. Spotless. The bathroom: Beautiful. No mould anywhere, and in perfect condition. Very good water pressure in the shower. Nice big towels. Everything so clean. The Furniture in the Room: Very appropriate for the location, solid timber, thoughtful selection of furniture. Lovely sliding door that you can open and sit just outside your room and have a drink, whilst watching little birds fly around, Willy Wag Tails I believe. You are given your own little table and chairs outside your room. It is so peaceful and nice to sit and have a drink and relax before going to dinner. There is a fridge in your room and other amenities. You can also have breakfast delivered if you wish. The Restaurant at the Motel: This restaurant exceeded our expectation. The food was amazing. It was so tasty and very generous in the proportions. It had a lovely ambience and you really felt like you were being looked after and welcomed. Amanda, the owner of the Motel also happened to be in the restaurant on the night we had dinner and came over to say hello. She is so well suited to her job and a real pleasure to talk to. Parking: You can park at the rear right outside your room. It is very secure and safe. Check-Out: This was easy, and it was sad to leave. We had the pleasure of meeting Amanda's little dogs that are so polite and well behaved, we took photos and patted them. They are so well looked after and loved and it all made sense to us. Amanda has such a kind heart, and this was evident in the care and love she displays to these little dogs that you never hear a peep out of. At the time of checkout, we asked her what her name is, and she said Amanda. We wanted to know so we could actually use names in this review. Why choose this Motel: We don't often give 5 stars for a motel or a hotel. However, the Overlander Homestead Motel in Roma is Perfection and a real credit to the owners. Charles took our booking initially and Amanda checked us in and out. We also booked the restaurant at the time of making our booking. Amanda and Charles are a great team and we were thrilled that in Roma, we could find such high standard accommodation. We spent alot of time researching where to stay, and are so pleased we made the right choice. To have a nice relaxing drink outside your room on the lawn and well kept garden, then to be able to walk into such a beautiful restaurant and then walk back to your room, was fabulous.
