Very friendly lady, lovely to talk to and very understanding. The room was quite large by usual standards, and the bathroom was as well, and both were nicley cleaned. However no shampoo just little soaps which were alredy unwrapped. Tea and Coffee, and one mug, two cups. Only two pillows on the queen bed - no spare blankets, no iron. Sadly as a long weekend nothing in the town for supplies was open at all. No restaraunts either, remember when travelling the outback take some food to make do with!

Demountable room motel on the highway in Richmond. Run by an older couple who I guess do it all. The room was very basic but clean, as was the bathroom. Airconditioner was box type so noisy but worked well. Highway noise wasn't too bad - I ran the air-conditioner all night so I'm sure that provided some insulation. The owner was friendly and helpful. Food options in town very limited on a Monday night (pub dinner 6-7.45pm or the roadhouse for deep fried snacks).

Although the rooms are very Basic they are clean and reasonably well maintained, the town during public holidays is CLOSED with NO Hotels or Supermarkets Open so food options are VERY Limited to Roadhouse food only with the first one as you enter from the west with the best food that is cooked the other heading out to Mt Isa is all Deep Fried Only. The road trains pass beside the hotel at all hours otherwise its an OK place to stay.

We stayed as a family of 2 adults and two kids aged 9 and 8. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are older donga style and very basic but have what you nee. The rooms were clean enough but there were some wrappers under the bed and stinky socks still in the cupboard from a previous tenant. Most of the other guests were road crew who were friendly and quiet. Lovely little patch of green garden with tables for breaky. Right across the road from Kronosaurus Museum. I will mention again how lovely the owners were and friendly and helpful. We stayed here because the two other venues were fully booked for cabins / rooms. Pioneer is pretty. basic and Ammonite Motel across the road looked to be a more up market option. We thought Pioneer was a little expensive even compared to other outback town cabins.

Basic tired older style motel in a tiny country town. The bathroom is clean, the air con works, and the beds are excellent quality. Comfy beds make a huge difference after a long day driving. 2nd stay in 6 months for work. Will stay again.

I think my oh nearly ran in the opposite direction when we opened the door to our room. It was very basic, but clean, the lady at reception was a little strange with us when we first turned up, but the following day she was lovely. Be warned that these units tend to sway, not very good if you are motion sick.

Room was like a portable Donga, very dated fixtures & fittings. No toiletries & wafer thin towels.
Threadbare sheets. Overpriced at $127 a night, we have travelled 10,000 kls this trip & most accommodation, which was far superior at a much lower price.
Parking area was just loose gravel.

This motel consists of rickety demountable buildings, with overflow bathroom floor wastes emptying onto the ground below. There wer eno handtowels or flannels provided, although there was soap, tea coffee etc. The air con is very noisy and there was a live frog in the toilet - a bit too rustic for my liking. The bed was comfortable however and there is some shade to park your car under.
