The Flinders Highway is on two sides of this motel's rooms because it does a 90 Degree turn at the corner but, to our surprise, it was nowhere near as noisy as one might have expected from those road trains that rumble along it. The motel is modern, spacious and light, with great verandahs that give you relief for you and your car which sits snugly under its shelter. Our room was impressively large with a queen size bed and a single, a very long "sideboard", two luggage racks!, and all the mod cons one expects in a motel of this standard, but not, regrettably, an operating restaurant (because of staff scarcity). Nevertheless the ever-obliging manager was happy to provide room service for breakfasts (6.00 - 8.00am) and dinners (6.00-7.30pm), and did so for us. Her chicken schnitzels ($28.00) were a triumph! Tender, juicy, flavourful, with a lot of vegetables and - best of all - gravy in a saucer on the side. The guest laundry has one washing machine (takes 2 X $2.00 coins) and one dryer (one $2.00 and one 20 cent), The motel was diagonally across from the fascinating (if badly named) Kronosaurus Korner, an easy stroll to the nearby Federal Palace Hotel (no Sunday lunch when we were there) and the business part of town, including the newsagent, supermarket, police station, council chambers and the post office. It was an excellent choice for two tired travellers!

We stayed for 2 nights in a "disabled access" room and it was a pleasure to stay in. It was a very spacious room with a queen bed and one single, tv, and tea and coffee making facility. There is no microwave. There was ample room next to either side of the queen bed to park a wheelchair, and the bed was the right height for a slide transfer at approximately 56cm high. The large bathroom has a wheel-in shower, and grab rails. There is a wheel-under sink and a left hand transfer toilet with grab rail. The unit was very clean and in a great location. There is no ramp from the car park to enter the room but wheelchair access from the sliding door at the back of the room is possible. We were able to access the room from the car park by using our portable ramp. The restaurant was closed but the Mud Hut pub is within walking distance and had great food.

Spent on night at this motel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was a short walk to Kronosaurus Korner which was across the road. The pool area was well maintained. There breakfast was good considering the current health regulations. The staff were friendly.

Good motel in Richmond. The restaurant was closed for tea and we had to go down the road to the local pub for a meal. They did serve breakfast to our room though which was reasonably priced. Lots of workers were here and we did hear them leaving for work in the early morning but it didn't last long. Can walk to Kronosaurus Korner from motel as it is diagonally across the road.

Stayed overnight recently at Ammonite Inn when travelling through Richmond. Friendly staff, reasonably clean room, comfortable beds, well-maintained pool. Overall a good stay and would stay again if passing through town.
