Great lunch here. I struggled to finish the lamb shanks and the chicken pesto pasta serving size was generous. They have a 10 dollar steak night on Sundays. We parked around the back on Short street so we didn't know it also is known as the Commercial Hotel. Great service. The staff seemed to know all the locals by name.

Seriously, people need to get over themselves, this place is an experience. Its an old boozer that has been done up and offers large and cheap pub meals. Fine dining it isn't, but its tasty, filling and simple fair, washed down with a schooner of froth. What more could you want? Oh wait, there's more....

Morts Brewery are down stairs where you can enjoy literally The BEST Craft Beers on the Sunny Coast from just after lunch time Fridays through to Sundays.

Went to Hotel Beach House in Nambour for Sunday lunch. The menu has usual pub food and reasonable prices. I had a $15 steak special. But it was the service that set this place apart... such great welcoming staff!

Went in for some takeaway. Had a beer while I waited. The young fella behind the bar was the perfect host. The place was clean. Thought I was on a winner until I got back to my hotel room. The Pork Belly was fat. 80% fat. Could only eat a few pieces which had a bit of meat on it. The Chicken parma with garlic prawns was small and dry and the prawns- well there were two tiny ones amongst the sauce. Pop in for a drink but give the food a miss.

I have been here several times, thinking each time it would get better. The meals are so small you need 2 to make up a normal pub meal. I asked for a well done steak and it was still bleeding when it was served. The barmaids are really friendly making up for the terrible meal.

Hotel Rooms are pretty basic and over crowder with furniture and fittings that limit space. No wardrobe or hanging space for clothes. Comings and goings of other guests slamming doors in the middle of the night and paper thin walls .

What a lovely surprise. We came here for dinner and then came back for lunch two days later. The food was great but the staff were the reason we will return again in the future.

Elaine was a gem. What a wonderful person to have around. We wanted to take her with us on the rest of our holiday hahaha.

Elaine cares about her customers and she cares about the community. Elaine truly understands good customer service and always puts in 110%.

The beef and bacon burgers were delicious. We will come back next time we are on holidays there.

We often eat here since we started our business in Nambour and can honestly say every meal we have had is of high standard. From the Lunch Specials to the main meals including salt and pepper calamari added to a salad!
Today was $10.90 home made rissoles with mash and peas.
Lovely comfort food?
Well done!

Visiting regional friends and couldn't face the extortionate accommodation costs on the Sunshine Coast, so I stayed nearby at the Commercial Hotel, in the main street of Nambour. The Hotel is a 1990's Queensland 'pub', so the place is cheerful but accommodations are basic. At $85/night it was not exactly cheap, and the squeaky bed, absence of a wardrobe, non-cooling air conditioner and noisy nature of the room was bearable but not really comfortable. The refrigeration plant at the back of the hotel was faulty and kept starting and stopping every 10 seconds all night long which was noisily intrusive. I had originally booked for one night only but needed another night. When I asked for a small discount for the second night, due to the hot room and faulty air conditioner, I was told that the Manager had said I could be shifted closer to the hotel air conditioning plant but no discount. She did, however provide a free beer as an offset. The meals were pretty good "pub food" in the lounge which also doubled as the child corral and 'back bar'. All staff were friendly, and the place had cheerful 'pub' air about it. An array of poker machines were available beside the front bar. Considering that the Pub has been going, with periodic rebuilding from about 1870 there must be an impressive river of beer flowing over the years. The Hotel location is in central Nambour right near public transport. A good choice for a lower cost place to stay but check the room before accepting it. In general I wonder why Hoteliers seem to think it is OK to just relentlessly keep raising prices year after year without checking and maintaining the accommodation?

My room was very small but had an ensuite. It was also very clean, which at this price point is a pleasant surprise. There was a fair bit of noise from the cool rooms, but when I closed the windows it mostly went away. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. My tv did not work (not a huge deal) and even though I said not to waste too much time with it, the manager went above and beyond to make sure I was sorted. It was appreciated. The bistro was slightly above average with a good menu and specials. If this is your budget, just book it!
