Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We chose this small, intimate park as it was close to a beach (50 Metres), good shopping/cafes at Mossman, 4 Kms away and much quieter than Port Douglas. Our Hosts, Jenny and Warren, were informative, friendly and always helpful. Warren is an amateur beekeeper and his honey (For sale at the Park) is delicious. We stayed in a clean spacious unit facing the beach and slept peacefully to sounds of the ocean every night. The birdlife visable from our front door was amazing with Stone curlews, Metallic starlings, Kingfishers and Rainbow beeeaters a highlight. Facilites include a Laundry and Camp kitchen but all you need to cook is in the unit. If you want someone else to cook next door to the park is a fantasic take away food shop with a very extensive menu. Warren was very generous and gave us some Advocados (and other fruit) from his orchard and samples of his honey. Jenny told us how to find safe swimming holes in the district and visiting these was also a highlight. Would not hesitate to stay here again next time.

I had not seen or heard of newel beach caravan park but I’m glad I found it and I stayed two weeks Very clean amenities and very well kept. The owners Warren and Jenny both very nice and friendly. Jenny would come round and chat with you making you feel like one of the family . It’s small so book ahead but very homey , the camp kitchen is also very clean and they have a bbq you can use . Five o’clock is happy hour which most of the oldies go to to have a laugh and a beer Wednesday they have a morning tea and on Saturday night a lady sings she has a great voice. Contrary to what one of the other reviews says it’s not a place where everyone drinks and smokes and the owners are not rude . The beach is just over the road where you can take your dog for a run and the takeaway shop next door has a huge menu and is also good . Mossman is only four ks away and has everything you need pt Douglass is down the road and the Daintree not far either . I would definitely return if I was up that way again they also have a clean pool.

Arrived for a 10 night booking at what we thought was going to be a lovely caravan park. Bitterly disappointed when we saw a cramped very ordinary looking place. When we asked if we could reduce our stay to less than 10 nights the manager turned immediately into a bully and said 10 nights or nothing. I said I’ll consult my husband who was in the car and he said it’s not my husbands decision it’s his and we could leave. If you drink and smoke this is the caravan park for you. If you’re looking for something aesthetically pleasing with a polite and amiable manager then look elsewhere. So glad we left and found beautiful accommodation elsewhere.

Very friendly managers who were keen for us to be happy with our site. Campers were separated from each other by a screen of greenery. Clean spacious amenities. Full length mirror and baby bath. I liked the shower walls going all the way to the floor so you don't get splashed by the person showering next door. Basic camp kitchen with BBQ, hot plates, kettle, toaster and two very small sinks. Cold water only at the kitchen sink so had to use their kettle for hot wash up water. Tourist information pamphlets were provided near the laundry. Cost $35 for powered site after seniors discount. I would happily return. We stayed for three nights so I was very relieved that it was a decent and clean caravan park.

We stayed 2 nights - we are a family of 4 kids are 12 and 9 at the Newell Beach Caravan Park. Small park with 25 sites, swimming pool, $4 per laundry load and heaps of line space. Each site quite private with gardens dividing in between, well maintained gardens throughout and we had a slab site that you could drive through Very clean amenities. Located across the road from the beach well away from the highway so very very quiet. Lovely spot, we stayed here to visit Mossman Gorge and also did a spot of fishing at the River mouth and caught a 68cm flat head. Highly recommend this park.

We enjoyed our 8 night stay in this small and friendly park that reminds me of a place I went regularly as a kid. Very friendly and welcoming regulars who have good tips on the area, amenities always very clean and laundry suited us for our stay. The owners are so lovely and happy for a chat, Jenny has a big contagious smile and Warren is a happy bloke and both were great with our kids. They gave us good tips on the area and things to do and were happy to accommodate us for an extra night even though it was busy. Not a big 4 with all the bells & whistles but a peaceful spot with beach, cane & mountain views among a relaxed setting and close to Mossman. We also made a friend in our neighbour which was nice, see you next year hopefully John.

We stayed 2 nights in a holiday unit at this park. A very friendly welcome and taken to our unit. The unit is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and very reasonably priced. Great spot and directly across the road from the beach. Morning sunrise over the water is the best. Great place to stay while exploring the Daintree.

This little park is in a lovely position. Across the road from the beach with cane fields and mountains behind. Wonderful bird life and beautifully quiet. Fantastic for a short break. The facilities are clean and the managers are lovely people. Pet friendly, (on a leash of course), and a camp kitchen. The shop next door does very good fish and chips too

Stayed here for 3 nights in self contained room, VERY clean and tidy opposite the beach. Warren (the manager) does a great job and makes guests feel at home. Visitors MUST try the fish and chip shop next door (open all day)...BEST fish and chips we have ever had anywhere in the world. Will be back in January. HIGHLY recommended.
