Our stay at Licuala Lodge was the highlight of our trip to NQ. We saw a cassowary and chick every day and delighted in bird watching from our balcony (sun birds, metallic starlings, helmeted friar bird, dusky honeyeater, yellow oriole, etc. The gardens are exceptional. Breakfast was delicious with home made ingredients. Dawn and Allan could not have done a better job.

Licuala Lodge came highly recommended in the Lonely Planet guide. We booked four nights and were not disappointed. The colonial lodge is run by the super friendly Dawn and Blair who serve fabulous breakfasts each day. They are also really happy to provide advice and recommendations on what to see and do each day, pulling out walking maps etc. We really enjoyed our stay here in the super clean and comfortable rooms, we would definitely stay again if we pass through Mission Beach.

One of the best B&B’s I have stayed at, great room with the best bed, delicious breakfast, garden and pool area so beautiful and fabulous hosts. Blair and Dawn looked after us with plenty of local knowledge about walks, restaurants, attractions and the Cassowary family that wander through the property just topped off this wonderful week.

Cant speak highly enough of Licaula Lodge and it’s owners Dawn and Blair. Wonderful stay here as a family, the grounds are beautiful and a profusion of tropical plants and the kids loved the pool. The breakfasts on the balcony really are excellent and we enjoyed the company of the hosts , who could not have been more welcoming. Lots of thoughtful small touches throughout the lodge and a guest lounge. To top it all we were lucky enough to see the local Cassowary and her Chicks in the garden. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in natural surroundings.

Fabulous accommodation - and that despite pouring rain! We immediately felt very welcome here and enjoyed our stay at the property. Unfortunately, it rained quite a lot during our stay, so we couldn't really use the pool and the garden, but we will definitely come back at a sunnier time. Great breakfast, too, with home made toast.
