We stayed 4 nights in the Beaches Hut, and loved this place. We could see through the garden palms to the beach a barely 10 metres away from the front porch. Welcome breakfast and fruits and snacks, drinks are lovely surprise. Everything thing is thought of, extra towels, including beach towels, umbrellas, chairs for the beach. We prepared dinner a couple of nights-having a bbq & cooking items including microwave on the porch allowed for no inside cooking smells. We could enjoy the Far North Queensland weather and eat alfresco. Walking distance along a beach path or via sand to have a drink/meal at Castaways or a little further walk to town. The pool was lovely to cool off in. Stinger net enclosed is very very close if you’re visiting in stinger season. Head out to do a day trip to Dunk Island if you can, as well as explore the local Mission Beach coastline .

We stayed in Waves Beach Hut which was the perfect place for a week-long getaway in an idyllic part of Queensland. Sejala Beach Huts is the absolute best when it comes to accommodation. We wanted for nothing and there were so many extras - fruit bowl filled with fresh tropical fruits, breakfast supplies, drinks and bikkies & cheese packs - that made us feel valued as guests. Situated right on the beach meant that the sound of the sea was a soothing backdrop and long beach walks were right on the doorstep. Cannot recommend this highly enough and cannot wait to go back.

We loved Sejala so much last year that we came back again this year!
This time we stayed five nights so that we could just relax at Mission Beach.
Sejala is close to the main strip of shops and cafes which is really handy, we love walking on holidays!
But the best part is it’s location to the beach! It’s pretty much on the beach and hearing the ocean when you go to sleep is lovely.
The guys are lovely and really well maintained and the little touches are fantastic to arrive to.
We will definitely come back!

We stayed in Waves hut which is right next to the beach. Well, it’s called a beach hut but it is so much more than that! It is a little slice of paradise. A haven from the hustle and bustle. A sanctuary of calm amid the frenetic pace of a Covid-scared society. It is now my favourite place to go in the tropical north! The space is superbly decorated and finished, yet so elegantly understated. Everything you need is at hand. Sure the layout may be different to what you’re used to - cooking all outside, but that’s what beachside living is all about! The sights, smells and sounds of the ocean wafting through the sizzle of your steak on the hot plate! It’s just perfect! If you are tossing up about Sejala or somewhere else-just book Sejala! Janet is the perfect host. I assure you, you won’t regret it!

Our second stay at Sejala and it was better than we remembered. The beach hut is well appointed and comfortable. Walking distance to the village, only steps from the beach. Sea glimpses and you can hear the ocean. There is a walking path between the beach hut and the beachfront nature strip but clever planting and screening means it still feels very private.

Second time staying in Waves Hut as a couple. The Hut is soft glamour, small Hamptonish deliciousness and perfectly suitable for a loving twosome. Walking distance to great restaurants, cafes, and cocktails. About 10 steps out the privacy gate and you on the magnificent beach. Don't come if you want a party/shopping/busy holiday. Come to relax, drive to the Tablelands, potter to secluded beaches for a picnic and enjoy the peace. Thank you Janet, ALWAYS a total pleasure xx

We stayed at Sejala for three nights and we wish we had stayed longer.
The beach hut was absolutely beautiful, everything we wished for on a relaxing stop at Mission Beach. Janet and her team really care about their property which shows in the lovely touches, beautiful decor and cleanliness. And the location... oh my gosh, if you want to hear the ocean as you go to sleep, you’ll love this place!!
We will definitely be back again, thanks so much Janet.

Arrived from rainy Cairns to sunny Mission Beach in March this year. What a contrast!!! My wife fell in love with the place as soon as we arrived as being on honeymoon it was exactly what we were looking for - a secluded paradise.
We arrived by bus from Cairns which actually drops you off a Wongaling Beach which is about 4km from Mission so you will have to get a cab to get here but there is a tourist information shop at the bus stop which will organise this for you.
We arrived at Sejala for a short 2 day stay not really knowing what to expect as there is not much on the internet about it but what was there is absolutley spot on. Sejala has three beach huts (Waves, Beaches and Coral) and one beach house. The three beach huts look identical. We stayed in Waves and the accommodation was superb. It was a self contained hut with bed, living area, small kitchen (no cooker but there was a BBQ on the balcony), TV, cable, DVD etc and a bathroom that had a corrugated iron shower surround. This seems weird but is actually very trendy (in my opinion). There are no owners or staff on site but if you have any problems they are only a phone call away. The first thing you will want to do is run down to the beautiful beach which has views out to Dunk island. The pristine beach is literally about 10 yards away down a path through a coconut grove. We arrived there at about 2pm and there was hardly a footprint in the sand. There is also a small pool in the complex which we did not try out but it looked very clean.
The main centre of Mission Beach containing the restaurants etc is about a 10 minute walk away either by road or up the beach. This contains a small supermarket, restaurants, bottle shop, post office etc. A word of warning however - during the low season its pretty hard to find a restaurant open later in the evening - we tried to get dinner at about 9pm one night and found it virtually impossible. We managed to beg one place to let us in.
Unfortunatley we had only scheduled 2 days to stay here but wish we had planned more though if we had Cyclone Larry might have forced us to evacuate anyway as Mission Beach was hit by the storm 2 days later. Hopefully this place did not suffer too much damage.
Overall this place is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from it all for a piece of your own secluded paradise.

What a delightful location and beach hut, we were very thrilled with our rustic comfortable beach cabin. The Sejala cabins offer complete privacy with a touch of tropical paradise all wrapped up into a delightful beach holiday.
There are three huts Beaches, Waves and Coral. The best two are located on the beach; the Coral hut is next door to the swimming pool and has a lovely garden surrounding it. The pool is small and extremely well shaded for the hot summer months.
An enclosed stinger net is located on the beach just a few minutes away from Sejala.
The cabin is well equipped with a double bed, couch, coffee table, TV and a small kitchenette. The bathroom is well appointed having a rustic ambiance with its tin shower and open aired louvered windows.
These cabins are not 5 stars but offer a delightful casual beach atmosphere oozing with charm and character. The beach is on your doorstep and the village is just a short 10-minute walk away along the gorgeous tropical beach.
There are some excellent restaurants which can be located in the village and for nightlife there is the local tavern and the bar Coconut positioned opposite.
Mission Beach village is only tiny but it offers travelers all the necessary facilities, which one may require. There is a well-stocked supermarket, bottle shop, chemist, ATM machines (no bank) cafes and restaurants.
The most popular activity is to visit Dunk Island, which is a short ferry/ water taxi ride away from Mission Beach. One can either stay at Dunk Island Resort or have a day pass, which allows full use of the resort facilities and includes a lunch deal. AUD$20.00pp.
The water taxi departs from Wongaling Beach, which is approx 10minutes drive south from Mission Beach. Tickets can be purchased at the water taxi office. The taxi departs the mainland at 8.30am - 9.30am – 11.00am – 12.30pm – 2.30pm and 4pm. – (10mins ride). Departing from Dunk Island at > 9.00am-10.am-12pm-2pm-3.30pm and 4.30pm OR The ferry from Dunk Island departs from Clump PT Jetty – 8.30am-10am-2pm –( 25mins) Returning Dunk Island Jetty – 1.30pm-3.30pm-4.30pm COST – AUD$40.00 or with Bus option AUD$50.00
Overall – a delightful beach holiday set amongst tropical gardens and coconut trees. A special treat.

If you want to get away from it all, definately stay at the Sejala Beach huts.
There are three huts - we stayed in the Waves hut. The Waves hut looks out through the palm trees to Mission Beach. The huts are in the centre of Mission beach and a short stroll to the shops, cafes and bars.
The huts are very casual and laid back. The key is left in the hut when you turn up and when you check out, you just leave the key inside. This is a great touch, as sometimes on holiday you just don't want to be fussed with all the checking in and out details!
The huts are very well equipped and have everything you would need to chill out and relax. There is a BBQ, fridge, micro. The bathrooms are funkily designed too and the hut we stayed in had a galvanised iron shower. There is also a small pool for the three huts and lots of room to chill out on your verandah or lie in the hammock!
If you are not a fan of insects or geckos, and if you want a resort where you are waited on hand and foot, this is probably not the place for you. But if you want to relax, enjoy the beach life and get away from it all - the Sejala Beach Huts are perfect.
