My beautiful wife and I visited this fine establishment for a week.
I have always thought that swimming in the ocean has healing powers for your body, add a spectacular ocean view, long walks on the beach with my wife and best friend, convenient location with a multitude of dining choices....where ready to do it again.
Lyn the manager, was extremely friendly and helpful.
No disappointments here.
Just book and go.

This is a quality apartment building, in a beautiful location, just a couple hundred metres to the beach. It is clean, spacious and well appointed. Lyn & Gordon manage the building, and are extremely helpful, attentive and available. The location is perfect: peaceful, yet strolling distance to a wide range of quality bars and restaurants. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again; very highly recommended.

Ten days Christmas holiday , was well worth every cent. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit on the 5th floor, the views of the beach/surf all the way to Pt Cartwright was just beautiful. Location is great, short walk surf club, and number of restaurants. The unit itself was very spacious and clean, with comfortable bedding. We couldn't fault it, even had a bar fridge in the kitchen. Underground car parking with easy access with ample space to maneuver a large 4wd.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Silver Sea on Sixth. This occasion we were on level 8, spectacular views north and south of the coast line. The unit was spacious and clean, and beds/pillows were comfortable. Location is close to cafe/coffee shops, fast foods and restaurants. Short distance walk to the surf club and the beach. Underground car park is easy to move around and the nominated parking bays can fit 2 cars in. Managers Lyn and Gordon were helpful with our late check in. Would recommend booking the Silver Sea on Sixth.

Very nice self contained apartment right near beach. Fairly new with large rooms, good bathrooms and kitchen, all the amenities you need and lots of space. Large doors and windows open to balconies with 360 degrees of view. Only a few hundred meters away from beach. Some shops and cafes close. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great pool including 20m lap pool. Spa, sauna, small gym.

A great spot with good local amenities in the heart of the Sunshine Coast. Get an ocean view room especially 702 for a wonderful view and lots of room and the units are sel-contained. There is a pool and hot tub and free parking, it is close to the airport.

Such wonderful customer service when the border closed again in allowing and actioning a refund on our booking. Each staff member was sweet and genuine.
With that level of customer service when I was cancelling, I look forward to getting to stay.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room was great but I had a very poor customer service experience. Long story short, after not having any hot water for almost 2 days (which meant cold showers in winter) I enquired about a reduction on the bill. This was refused. When I got home I emailed Silver Sea management to inform them of my poor experience. The reply I received was quite aggressive and clearly stated that I was only looking for a reduction on my bill because I could afford to stay in the first place.
After leaving a poor review on trip advisor, I received a call from Silver Sea management. The man who called me was extremely aggressive and used very foul language. He demanded I remove my review (he swore heavily at this point) and threatened legal action. As I suggested to him, I have removed the post and left details of his call instead. He did not seem concerned.
Throughout this whole experience, I have not received a single apology. Only the accusation that I have been lying about the cold water and that I merely couldn't afford to stay so am trying to get a discount. Rather than a simple apology, I have received insults and threats.

Response from SilverSeaonSixth, Manager at Silver Sea on Sixth
Responded 7 Aug 2012
I thank Trip Advisor for the opportunity to respond to this review. It cannot be denied that in theory, and for what the website was originally designed for, Trip Advisor is an extremely valuable resource for prospective holiday makers in getting a feel for their possible accommodation destination. Regrettably though, as evidenced by the countless letters and articles regarding Trip Advisor by Resident Managers and Accommodation Providers in associated industry papers and the like, it appears that it has become a haven for a ‘free for all criticism’ of accommodation suppliers by the disgruntled, the bullies, the aggrieved or just the unscrupulous persons amongst us. Most unfortunately, it is all performed under cowardly anonymity. If one was to put their name to a piece, giving it at least some semblance of credibility, it would make the playing field just that little bit fairer. As it stands, the premises and the Manager are ‘up in lights’ for all to see, whilst the poster hides behind an untraceable and made up email address. The fact is that the Manager will ALWAYS know who it is who posts, as it will always follow a threat, an ultimatum, or a confrontation, perceived or real. Once again, I find myself addressing a factually incorrect posting here on Trip Advisor from a disgruntled guest who did not like the fact that we would not succumb to their his threats and demands, with this being the second and revised review from this man. Whilst this poster tries to make himself look hard done by, he was anything but, with his initial posting a bunch of lies, and his email to me, including of a threat. As you can most probably gauge, Mr T did not like the response I gave to his lies, and most importantly, his threats. I make NO apology for that! Regrettably, it appears that people such as this man are the people that bother to go through the Trip Advisor registration phase to post reviews, somehow satisfying their feeling of being hard done, and intent on ‘teaching the Manager a lesson’. That Silver Sea on Sixth Resort enjoys over 75% of it’s patronage from return guests, mostly of middle aged and beyond guests, it is not surprising that we do not get many reviews. As explained to this guest, Managers do not appreciate the bullying tactics, threats, and comments that can affect the earning capacity of the manager and his/her family. There are better ways to do so, perhaps through Resident Management and Fair Trading authorities. I will reaffirm, that I, nor anyone representing my company, will accept being threatened. I WILL NOT stand for the threats made by this poster in his emails. To those thinking of staying at Silver Sea on Sixth Resort, if you enjoy first class, incredibly clean and spacious apartments with the best of amenities, service and security, please give me a call or drop me an email. I would love the opportunity to accommodate you for the stay of your life here with us….you make your own mind up! Jan Resident Manager

Silver Sea is advertised as a “self-contained apartment resort” on many search engines and that is misleading because Silver Sea is a private residential building in which 5 apartments are being sublet by their owners under the management of a lady who lives on the premises (the receptionist). The building has no traits of a resort. You are on your own when you check into this place and you do need a housekeeper especially if you are handicapped or have booked an extended stay. The apartment was not at all serviced during our 6 night stay. There is a welcome amenities kit which can last you a couple of days, and no matter how long is your stay amenities are not replenished (as per the receptionist); there is no change of towels, no cleaning, no garbage pick up, no concierge, no porter, and no one to help you with your luggage (beware if you are elderly or handicapped). Basically when you stay here, you are a tenant living in a residential building, and you have to do your A to Z house chores like at home, which I find takes away of the travel pampering we all look forward to in a hotel or resort.
The apartment was a 2- bedroom unit; modern spacious aerated and clean, perhaps some fresh flowers and a bit of background music could have helped ease the disappointment of walking into a lifeless unwelcoming space. We had to invite the receptionist to give us a tour, after we failed to find certain things or figure out certain equipment functionality!
- Each room has a double bed, no queen or king size beds.
- There is no safety deposit box, and no Nespresso machine or the likes.
- No phones near the beds; only one in the kitchen.
- The AC control is up near the ceiling. We thought it was not working. It turned out it was only operable via remote control (an information not given to us)
- The labels on the washing machine buttons are all peeled off, we could not tell which button does what (see photo)
- There are no manuals for any of the electronics in the apartment.
- We had problems finding the kettle and the toaster which were not in the kitchen cabinets but rather in the wall behind a retractable pull up curtain (see photo)
- There is a button you need to press in the door to make sure it locks behind you or you must lock it with your key. (We were not told that either, and intuitively we thought like in any hotel the door locks behind you as you exit.
- Wifi is VERY BAD. The slowest we have seen in any property! often we were not directed to the login page and when we did it took literally minutes before any page opened up with no images! The internet operating company seems like a one man show. The guy acted unprofessional denying receiving our call / voice message. We had to show him the time and the number on our phone and he still denied! He never returned our calls, and when he did because the receptionist had to intervene, he brought his own laptop to show us everything was working fine! We pointed out it has to work on your machine not his! he apologized telling us “you sorry I cannot help you! there are 15 people connected in the building on the net right now and internet is slow because of that!!” You get 1.5 GB per stay with bizarre rules (see photo) but don’t fret you will never exhaust 1.5 GB because you can rarely connect. Glad we had our own phone data packages to compensate.
At 240 AUS$ a night you can do much better than at Silver Sea on the Sunshine Coast; I highly recommend the place to be renamed Silver Sea on the sixth “apartments”, omitting the word resort, on all engine search to avoid confusion. Management has to be transparent as people need to be told what to expect, prior to arriving. Installing a safety deposit box and definitely giving a guided tour of the place upon arrival are few of the many things that could enhance one’s experience at Silver Seas.
The most positive thing we wish to remember from this stay is the receptionist’s pleasant and professional character, though she could not do much, we appreciated her understanding of the situation.

We stayed here with our 3.5 year old daughter in November for 4 nights. The apartments are very well set out and extremely clean. We have never stayed anywhere so clean before. The kitchen was packed with all necessary cooking utensils. The common areas were spotless ie pool area, BBQ and even the carpark. Great location just across from the beach, friendly management, and fantastic view from our 5th floor balcony. We will be returning. Thanks for making our holiday so wonderful.
