We stayed in Catalina 11 on the 12th floor in a 2 bedroom unit with expansive beach views. Catalina Resort is easy walking distance to cafes and restaurants, and a short walk from cotton tree shops and eating. Very enjoyable stay.

Great spot to beach and restaurants/cafe. Unit was dated and extremely hot although we had an old air-conditioner in lounge and fans in bedroom. We were not able to take advantage of view in morning as too hot. Make sure you take your own toilet paper and consumables because they are not supplied.

Just spent a wonderful week at Catalina Resort and cannot recommend this venue highly enough. We had a beautiful apartment in Catalina II overlooking the ocean. The apartment could not be faulted containing everything you could possibly need including a wonderfully comfortable bed. Our hosts Graham and Mel were fantastic providing local information of where to eat shop and anything else we needed to know. We cannot recommend Catalina Resort highly enough and hope to visit again in the future

Nice size rooms, we had a three bedroom two bathroom apartment. Was great for our family of five. Close to beach and restaurants, two pools were great.
Rooms unfortunately are dated and in need of some work. None of the windows or doors have fly screens, bathrooms don’t have exhaust fans. The bathrooms have mould and are in need of work.
Staff are lovely and helpful.

We booked a 3 bedroom unit on the 12th floor, with ocean views, to celebrate our anniversary with our family of 2 other adults and 2 grandchildren. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. The unit was perfect. All rooms were clean and well presented with a spa in the main bedroom, everything we needed in the kitchen, ample car parking. Outside amenities, pools, spas and tennis court were clean and readily available. Walking proximity to Surf Lifesavers Club, Bowls Club, restaurants or local shops for meals or groceries. Lots of tourist attractions if venturing further afield. We have stayed at Catalina several times before and will always return there when visiting the Sunshine Coast. Thanks Catalina!

We had a great unit with everything we needed. Splendid view of the beach and sea. Over all very pleasant. The free wifi was a bit slow but not too much of an issue as we spent a lot of time on the beach. The unit was clean and tidy.

We took the family to stay in a three bedroom apartment and were lucky enough to score the penthouse. The views are magnificent whether you're checking the river , the surf out front or the ships on the horizon.
The apartment was clean on arrival and everything worked as it should. The wifi was good and so was the air conditioning in all rooms. The kitchen is well equipped and we had everything on hand we needed during our week stay.
The pool and spa were clean and well maintained although the spa was a little hot at times. The weather was kind so the spa and pool were great to relax in after an early morning surf. The barbecue and pool area were always clean and the barbecues not only worked well but were immaculate whenever we went to use them.
The staff were very helpful, polite and courteous in all our dealings. The location is excellent, so close to the beach, shops and restaurants with most things in easy walking distance. We would definitely recommend for a relaxing, easy stay at a modest price. Thanks to all at Catalina.

On the positive side, our ocean views were fabulous, the facility clean and well-landscaped, the kitchens adequately equipped, and the beds comfortable. There are two excellent restaurants -- a breakfast place and a Japanese place -- right across the street.
Overall the place is a bit time-worn, and our unit was poorly furnished and poorly lit.
But it's the management vibe that's so off-putting. Guests seem regarded not only as a necessary inconvenience, but as an actual threat. The place is a maze of card-access security points, and it's teeming with signs that prohibit certain behaviors or threaten hefty fees for bothering management at inconvenient times. We were allocated only one "activities card" as a family, so we had to move as a group or rendezvous by phone. The basement parking spaces have one number on the wall and another number on the floor, but nobody tells you when you check in which number is relevant. You also can't exit the lot once you've checked out and turned in your cards, but nobody tells you that either. The pool table is coin-operated. The ping-pong table has a terrible net, terrible paddles (three, not four), and a single terrible ball. We're always grateful for a place with a tennis court, but with no windscreens or lights, it's often unplayable.

This was our third stay at Catalina Resort. Both times we had a 3 bedroom unit in Catalina 2. Both times we had a high level unit with wonderful views to the ocean and a side view to the river mouth. Very well appointed units, modern and clean. Unit 92 has a very difficult car space in the basement but Unit 96 has a tandem car space. I think the best units are the north east side of the building to have a dual view. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We will all stay here again.

Catalina Resort at Maroochydore is a great place to stay with Amazing views and heaps to do. A short walk to Cotton Tree and the Maroochydore River. A great family holiday location with restaurants all over and shopping centre not that far away.
Great for families or couples to get away. Apartments very clean, neat and tidy.

Catalina 2 is the newest building, units are more modern. Catalina 1 units are much bigger with bigger balconies as well. I prefer Catalina 1......there is no problem with parking and the new management are fantastic and very helpful.
