Property's Favourite Review
This resort situated between Montville and Maleny is an ideal place for a romantic weekend away. Each cabin is set away from each other and overlook the valley and the lake. The furnished balcony provides an ideal view of the sunset and the fog rolling in over the lake in the morning. The bungalow itself is spacious and well appointed with an ensuite bathroom and a separate kitchen/living room. The wood fire was a great touch as it got a little chilly in the evening. Overall a beautiful weekend away in an awesome resort that we would stay at again without hesitation.

My partner and I stayed here from 13/07 - 17/07 and loved how relaxing Candi Dasa was.
The views are amazing and the villa itself is very lovely, spacious and has everything you need.
There is no wifi within this villa due to the location and you will need to go down to reception to get it if you would like it.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need for a short getaway.
We really loved our stay but there are a few things that we feel could be improved which I thought we would share.
First impressions are everything and we felt that our welcome from the host could have been a lot better. We asked a few questions about walking trails around the place but were not given very much information which was disappointing. It’s the little things that make the stay and experience memorable and unforuntely the service wasn’t one of these things for us.
Cleanliness is okay but could be better as there was a lot of mould within the shower and the daybeds within the villa and on the balcony need cleaning/mattresses replaced.
Although we did not have much interaction with the hosts throughout our stay we did really appreciate that our firewood and supplies were topped up daily and our towels were changed on the third day which was nice.
The breakfast hamper that is provided is wonderful as well! It is filled with beautiful local produce, spreads and bread varieties which gave a really nice touch.
The little puppy that comes to visit is gorgeous and very friendly and the cows and birds are very cute to look at each morning.
The spa within the villa is AMAZING and the perfect touch for ultimate relaxation.
Upon checkout the host gave us a loyalty card which was also very nice.
Overall we really did love our stay and enjoyed the villa, serenity and spectacular views. We will definitely be back again!
Thank you for the stay!

Maleny Tropical Retreat is situated a few minutes drive from both Maleny and Montville.
It was very hard to get off the day bed on the verandah as the view was so beautiful and tranquil.
The spa was also hard to get out of! Two people can lay down and there is a tv straight ahead.
This is the Nusa Dua king spa room which I highly recommend.
We received breakfast for our 3 night stay - fresh Oj, yogurt and fruit were extremely fresh and yummy.
There is a 2 head shower ( about 2.5 metres long) , kitchenette facilities and park your car on your own verandah.
The owners were very lovely and welcoming (including Basil the dog)
There is a fire inside for the colder months which would be cosy.
On site there are bbq facilities- the owners can arrange bbq packs and picnic hampers on request.
We got pizza delivered one night but with so many yummy places to eat and drink at it was hard to decide where to go.
This room has a view of Lake Baroon.
I will definitely be going back ❤️

We stayed a couple of nights in the Lovina B&B and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think one advantage of our position at the back was the total lack of traffic noise - just birds, the creek, and the odd cow! Although the villas up the hill have better views they may have some traffic noise, albeit muted.
The creek is very pleasant, though a steep walk down and could be tricky in the wet. The Bali themed room is a pleasure to stay in, the breakfast is fine and the hosts completely obliging.
A small point but they could re-visit the economy measure of International Roast coffee sachets - though it didn't bother us as we used the plunger supplied for real coffee. All in all highly recommended.

Very quiet area which allowed us to enjoy the various sounds of birds, well off the Maleny-Montville Highway. Great views of the countryside, including Baroon Dam and the surrounding mountains. The cottage was very clean and tidy, contained everything necessary for even a prolonged stay. The bed was very comfortable, good quality bed linen, ample kitchenware and a great breakfast basket which lasted our 3 night stay. Cottage has a wood fire stove and a spa bath and an adjacent undercover car port, the latter very welcome during storm season. Close to both Maleny and Montville. Hosts friendly and helpful. Loyalty card available offering complementary extra night stay.

Daph and Ken provide a beautiful Balinese inspired retreat that is very relaxing. The accommodation has everything you need, such as a spa, fireplace, indoor and outdoor day beds, excellent linen and towels, a kitchenette with ample cooking equipment to eat in and double shower head in the open bathroom.
The views are fantastic. We loved our stay and would definitely come back.

Within the first 24 hours, we had both said that we’d stay at MTR again.
3 x night stay in the Candi Dasa villa. We could’ve easily stayed longer than a week. The perfect room - the most comfortable king size bed, big bathroom with double shower, kitchen (utensils provided, microwave, dishwasher, cook top, large fridge), double spa bath, fire place, day bed inside, car port attached to the villa, and to top it off there is a day bed on the balcony. Beautiful views, heaps of privacy, and of the afternoon, you get the cows coming past.
Due to covid, the continental breakfast items were provided in the villa kitchen. There is a communal barbecue area, but we didn’t use it.
The owners of MTR are very polite and accomodating. They gave us some great tips about the area. 10 minute drive tops each way to Montville and Maleny.
We were recommended MTR by a friend, and now we are recommending it to everyone else. It was just the most relaxing stay, and we cannot wait to come back.

We stayed three nights in the Seminyak villa. All the villas overlook this verdant and lush tropical rainforest. Seriously spectacular views from one's verandah. Your choice to have breakfast or a cuppa on the verandah. Comfortable king size bed where you could watch telly or the forest. A jacuzzi for two in your room. It's self contained so you could whip up a meal if you so chose but why bother with wonderful eating places 10 minutes away by car.
We should have stayed four nights so we could just hang out reading a book on the verandah.
A must if you need to get far away from the madding crowd and a place you can be close to nature and recharge your batteries.
Thanks Ken😃

Thanks to the recommendation by Ken to the Seminyak Villa, our stay was a romantic anniversary retreat. The room was very clean and the 2 seater hot tub was fabulous. Daphne and Alyssa were so pleasant and the continental breakfast consisted of the freshest fruit, warm, freshly baked croissants and Maleny yoghurt, along with assorted breads, juices, and cereals.

We had 4 glorious nights at this retreat. It was absolutely fantastic and we cannot rate it highly enough. The accommodation was beautiful and you would think you were in Bali. Ken the owner was lovely and we loved the booklet in the room telling us the history of the retreat. Views of the property and the cows/wallabies from our room were very relaxing. The location is quiet and we so wished we had booked a longer stay. The little kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook if you wish to self cater. The location is halfway between Maleny village and Montville village. Loads to do and lots to see.
A special thank you to Ken.
