The food at Maleny Hotel was great. Hubby ordered the Pasta Cabonara (which had a strong mushroom flavour, if you loved mushrooms, which he does). And I ordered the Crispy Salmon (which was cooked perfectly and had a great crispy skin which was well seasoned).

We stayed overnight, the room we booked was a queen room with shared bathroom. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the pillows big and fluffy and perfect.
However they underestimated the toilet paper usage in the shared bathroom and by morning, 2 out of the 3 toilets had run out of toilet paper. Also the hand wash dispenser was all empty (were supposed to use the soap they gave us in the room for the hand basin as well???).

Had a parmy and Greek seafood plate and couple beers. Foods quite good but overpriced

Service tries but run off their feet

The place needs a makeover but I suppose it’s ok for a regional hotel.

Needs to pick up its game if it’s going to charge city prices

We visited early for some pub grub. I was after something light and they had very little
To offer. They did do a chicken thigh without the sauce and a mash with steamed veg. Was tiny on my plate which for me
Didn’t matter but if you were hungry you would
Be disappointed. Very overpriced too!
My husband had a veggie burger with chips which came
In a plate the size of a side plate. Terrible value for money.

We had the blackboard steak special- $40.00 and crispy skin Barra-$32.00. Extremely exxy for pub. Very small serve of fish of which one half was overcooked to tough, not crispy, and the steak was inconsistent, also mostly overcooked instead of medium. Should have gone to Woolworths next door and bought/cooked myself for fraction of the price.

Staying just outside Maleny. Wanted a pub counter meal for lunch. Decided to try Hotel Maleny. Amazing steak. Cooked perfectly. The staff are so friendly. If I’d known there was accomodation I would have considered it. There are so many places to relax while eating or catching up. I saw people in groups varying in age yet the rooms/lounges never seemed noisy.

Stopped off for lunch which was really nice. Food was great, but being charged over $8.50 for a schooner of Soda Water & Coke Zero which included lots of ice from the post gun mix was an absolute joke. Hate being ripped off, won’t be back....

i found the meals we had tonight one of the worst i have eaten. overpriced and the quality was very poor. it was a soggy mess i got. i had heaps of green salad with 2 1/4s of tomato but my partner got hardly any salad at all ( no tomato ) i really dont know what it was as it was so tasteless. i felt like we were back in the 80's with the pub meals. wish i went to woolies and got a frozen meal - it most probably would of tasted better and been alot cheaper.
the staff were nice but nobody seemed happy. the decor was like something out of the 80's - wood on wood on wood. felt depressing. we did tell the waiter how we didnt like the meal but nobody from mangerment came out to find out why. will be looking elsewhere tomorrow night for dinner.

$26 for the Wild Earth Salad
Unfortunately too expensive for what little food was on the plate. Big bunch of spinach leaves, tiny roasted carrots x 5, 1 little slither of pumpkin and half a little beetroot and dukkah. If your a vegetarian it is extremely underwhelming and expensive. The bistro was out of veg Pattie’s and limited veg options.

Over many decades I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels in over 50 countries but this has to be one of the worst possibly just better than one in Bangladesh and a rural Indian one.
Queen room very small no bedside tables and nowhere to put luggage with only a small chair. Ac and tv ok. Share shower toilet (2) and toilet (1) for a dozen or so rooms. Handbasin in one had no water just gurgling noises and flappy polyester shower curtain failed to keep water in the black rubber strip so floor was flooded. V slippery. Wooden t/g room walls let every sound in so guy on his mobile at 11.30pm boomed in as he was literally a few meters from us on his side of the wall. Plus all music from other room ditto. Tick tick ticking noise in ceiling all night long was not fan sounded like leak?
Wednesday steak special was so tough and strong could chew even thin strips. I thought might have been old dairy cow. Overs salted everything and limp warm salad. Partners caeser salad with 4 prawns was limp and warm. Altogether a beer a wine the steak and the c/salad was $73. I spoke to a staff about the steak but ho hum reaction amounting to suck it in. Tried a ham pineapple pizza but was undercooked with raw dough under the tasteless cheese and salty ham. Very disappointing. On bright side it’s cheap and most staff were friendly and courteous.
But I don’t recommend this hotel or food in any way shape of form.

A diiner here two nights the week, very yummy food, very generous serve sizes. Meals came out quickly. Freindly staff. Outside area looked great with the lights. Unfortuntely it was raining. We had a nice meal called Funky Chicken and the Special Barra Monday (Fish and chips) very big serves of fish x 2 and chips and salad. the oil didn't leave an aftertaste, which was great.
