At $ 800 per night, this has to be a special treat. And, I'm happy to report, it is. Spicers have got the concepts of luxury, relaxation and pampering down to a fine art. No detail is overlooked and it all happens in a non-pompous, casual manner. We stayed in Luxury Forest Villa #13, which is the furthest from reception and restaurant ; total peace and quiet, but still an easy stroll for a meal. It is a small house, with everything that you could possibly need, and of the best quality. The bed is divinely comfortable, the bath with amenities opulent. Late afternoon we were invited for some complimentary dumplings in the restaurant : 2 per person and you buy your own drinks. The grounds are well maintained, but have kept their-foresty look ; there is a 15 minute walk to "the falls", a small natural pool with waterfall (which was hardly running because of the lack of rain). You can choose to have your breakfast in the room or in the restaurant, and we decided for the latter. There is a complimentary continental (banana bread, small yoghurt and fruit) and you choose 1 main. Although delicious, I thought it was a fairly small offering and I could have done with a little more. Spicers is the perfect place to forget about problems and stress ; unwind and re-load the batteries. A very special treat.

Good Afternoon Dirk, Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to let us know about your stay. We are thrilled you enjoyed the surrounds and the privacy in the villas. Gardners falls has had a lot of rain lately and is flowing, it is a shame you did not get to see her running wild, beautiful for an afternoon dip in this heat. I will pass along your feedback to staff and we do hope to welcome you back in the future. Ryan Dillon General Manager

We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Whilst pricey I can say we both thought it was worth every penny and was really good value for money. There’s not many rooms so you’re only ever going to be a handful of people staying here. The staff were all incredible and really went out of their way to accomodate us with our little 7 month old. The cabins are amazing. The food in the restaurant and the ambience was incredible. The grounds are meticulously maintained, and the day spa (according to my wife) would be worth driving up from Brisbane to attend. Can’t wait to be back!

Spicers Tamarind is the perfect retreat to get away from it all! The Orchard Villa was lovely and luxurious, the beds were so comfortable, the temperature was perfect, and our puppy was welcomed. The Tamarind had great breakfast options, even for those with dietary requirements, and room service was available. The grounds and trees were huge, well maintained and green. More than anything else though, our stay was quiet and relaxing, exactly what we were looking for.

It was just an overnight stay, but wow. We arrived at Spicers, tired and a bit jaded from overpriced "fine dining" establishments on our holiday. Our cabin, surrounded by tropical vegetation was gorgeous and well set out. We were hungry, having been let down by another high priced "chef's hatted" establishment and we ordered two mains to be delivered to our cabin. OMG!! We rate them as the best meals of our trip. A crispy white fish and a Duck Green Curry with steamed crab (not what you'd immediately put together but stunning). These two served with rice and a generous complimentary bottle of Prosecco restored our faith. The service was low key but perfect and our meal was delivered and the tray taken away without fanfare. I had a chat with Ty this morning before our departure and he made sure that we'd had a great stay and gave me a jar of chilli oil to take away. Easily the winner on our brief trip. Next time we plan to try a cooking class.

I went to Spicers Tamarind with a friend and stayed in the Luxury Forest Villa. The villa was really lovely. Set on beautiful lush grounds. Spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms including one of the bathrooms that opened up with bi fold doors to a lush garden in a courtyard with a large bath. It felt very luxurious. Not to mention the heated tiled floors. The living room had an open fire place which added to the charm, since the evenings get quite chilly in Maleny. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. In the morning we went to the restaurant for breakfast. We were greeted by a young man who opened the door as entered and again as we left. The breakfast was absolutely lovely. We were given a complimentary platter with banana bread, fruit and yogurt with muesli. We then ordered our hot breakfast. Again the service was excellent and the food was beautiful. I would not hesitate to return.

This property has a wonderful restaurant, where the food is excellent, the staff are attentive and friendly, and the a wine list which matches the menu. It also has very comfy, well maintained accomodation looking out over gardens with birds and butterflies. Included are a microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and real leaf tea in the kitchenette. The highlight for us was the stream and waterfall beside the property. And only 1 hour from Brisbane.

We had booked another retreat for our anniversary that was unfortunately cancelled at the last minute and instead decided to adjust our accommodation and make the stay at Spicers Tamarind.
From the moment we booked the team was assisting us with making the trip special, from suggestions on spa treatments and food as well as arranging transfers and some welcome gifts on arrival.
The accommodation itself is exceptionally well presented and impeccably clean and tidy. The cabins are private enough to feel like you are on the entire property alone together, but at the same time so close to the restaurant and spa that convenience is at hand.
We have both stayed in innumerable AirBnB's and Hotels, but the bedding here at Spicers is hands down the best we have ever experienced.

This was the perfect location to celebrate our Anniversary, the staff were fantastic a bottle of bubbles was awaiting our arrival in the room. The room was clean and roomy, the only thing is I found the bed comfortable but over soft for my liking. Pavilion 1 is central and has easy access to the path to the waterfall. The meals included were very nice, we chose to dine in-room one night which is a great idea, giving you the same meal options as dining at the restaurant.

We stayed for a relaxing weekend away and it was exactly what we needed. The bath in the forest villa is divine, bed is comfortable and you have everything you need. The stay is not cheap but it is very good value for money, especially when it includes a great breakfast and dinner from the fantastic Tamarind restaurant.

We purchased the Dinner, bed and breakfast package for two nights in a “Luxury falls villa”. We stayed mon & tue night so we had to have the diy bbq each night. Food was good. I would never pay the $120 that they have it advertised as because I don’t think it is worth $120. Plenty of food though. Plenty of food for the breakfast too. The spa was amazing. Probably the best part. Oddly the switch to turn the jets on is near the front door so every time you would have to get out of the spa and walk over to the front door and turn it on again. Very strange. All the staff members that we encountered were very lovely. The bed was horrible. It’s so soft to the point of being uncomfortable. You sink in it and it’s actually hard to move around. They don’t have a doona on the bed so it gets cold. I honestly felt more exhausted when I left then when I got there from two nights of bad sleep. The Anise spa was incredible. A really nice touch would have been if a staff member would have organised to take you over to the spa anise via golf buggy (what they use to get around the property) I walked, which obviously is fine, but it’s those little things that make it a great experience. It a very nice quiet place but I couldn’t stay again due to the bed. If the bed wasn’t uncomfortable I would be happy to stay again. I think in general $700 per night is too steep for what you get.

Dear OliveEdgar, Thank you for your recent stay at Spicers Tamarind Retreat. It was pleasing to read you enjoyed your BBQ hamper and spa experience. Please accept my apologies you did not enjoy your sleep. Our mattresses have a plush topper on them which makes them quite soft and some people prefer that these are removed. If you return to the retreat again please feel free to advise our team to remove the mattress topper and we can also ensure we make your bed with additional blankets. Please feel free to contact me directly if you do wish to return to the retreat so I can take personal care of your reservation. You can contact me via email gm.tamarind@spicersretreats.com or mobile 0421 635 678. Kind Regards Ryan Dillon General Manager
