My wife and I had occasion in September 2023 to visit Maleny in the heart of the Queensland Sunshine Coast Hinterland, (105 kilometres north of Brisbane), to attend the wedding of one of my nieces at Tiffany’s Wedding Centre overlooking the Glasshouse Mountains. In looking for a place to stay for two nights we chose Tranquil Park, mainly for its location being just 700 metres from the Tranquil Park Wedding Centre. Well, I have to say that our stay at Tranquil Park was very disappointing. We were accommodated in one of the “1 Bedroom Apartments (separate lounge area) with Glasshouse View” and we paid $200 per night, which, for what was provided, seemed a bit overpriced in our view. I guess we were paying for the Glasshouse Mountain view from the balcony off our unit which I must admit was quite stunning and one of the few endearing features. The balcony is shared with guests from next door units. The apartment where we stayed appeared very tired looking providing only basic facilities. The living area consisted of a tired looking uncomfortable lounge, a small table with two chairs, a television a fair distance from the lounge and in one corner there was the basic cooking facility. The cooking facility incorporated a microwave, an electric jug with two cups and a couple of wine glasses on a simple unit with a bench top, under which was a bar fridge. We had decided to cook our own breakfasts and 'eat out' at night. In preparing our breakfasts we found the bench top was simply too small to work on. Also there is no kitchen sink and this is a major deficiency. We had to wash our dirty plates, frypan, cups and cutlery (we brought our own as these were not provided) in the very narrow bathroom sink. I simply can’t believe that the place is advertised as an apartment and there is no kitchen sink! I would think there may be workplace heath and safety issues with our having to wash our dirty dishes in a guest bathroom? The bedroom had a good size bed which was comfortable enough and we enjoyed a couple of good night sleeps. The bedside drawer units appeared very cheap. There was a fairly reasonable wardrobe in the bedroom and a bedroom chair. Now to the bathroom. This is a very large room with enough space to have a party in. It does boast a very serviceable green tiled floor. The vanity unit has a sink that is far too small to even wash one’s hands. The shower unit worked well and the water stayed nice and hot – however, the china soap tray attached to the tiled wall of the shower unit was badly broken – so there is nowhere to put the soap when showering. A previous reviewer noted this in March 2023 so I suspect she was given the same room. Thus it appears that for at least six months leading up to our visit, the issue of this broken soap tray had not been rectified. There is a stairway we had to negotiate to get to the unit from the ground floor. There are thirteen polished steps; however one must observe due care when climbing up and down them, particularly when handling luggage. One positive aspect is the landscaping outside which is very well maintained. The car parking on the premises could do with some improvement however. As well as the accommodation units scattered throughout the complex, there is Patrick’s Irish Bar and Restaurant to enjoy a meal or a drink or two. Unfortunately it was closed on both the nights we were here so we could not try the food there. However, from all accounts the place has earned a good reputation locally. We found the manager very friendly and helpful when we arrived. My assessment of Tranquil Park as far the accommodation side of the business goes is that it comes across as a tired establishment that could do with a makeover with an injection of money put into it to modernise and make the place more attractive for guests. It has huge potential with its location and its stunning Glasshouse Mountain views. In my view the accommodation would not appear suitable for families or couples wishing to save money cooking all their own meals ‘in house’. However, it probably would suit transient guests, who just want an overnight or two, in a good location close to Maleny, who intend 'eating out' for all meals, and who don’t expect anything “flash”. Based on my experience here in September 2023 I regret that I can only give this place an average rating. As an aside we did enjoy our family wedding at Tiffany’s as well as having a wonderful visit to the Maleny Bird World and Botanic Gardens and an enjoyable evening meal at the Maleny Hotel and fine Vietnamese cuisine at the Maleny Palace Café.

This is a large motel-type accommodation on the side of the ridge overlooking the Glass-house mountains. Most rooms have a great view. There are several blocks of rooms of different age. The lower blocks are older and look aged. The newer block at the top has better rooms, but not more expensive. We stayed in a standard room but were fortunate to get a room in the newer block. The room was larger than a standard motel room but the price was also a lot higher - throw in the great view and the price was about right. I suggest you book directly by phone and book one of the newer rooms.

Wonderful views, nice, helpful manager provided information about the view, surrounds, and local amenities. Upgraded to good views at not extra cost. View out over the Glass House Mountains, first thing in the morning featuring Mount Beerwah.

Spent the night at Tranquil Park very nice room with lovely views. We were very happy to learn they now had an operational restaurant on site so we decided to try it as we really didn't want to go out to dinner after driving most of the day. Really nice meal, very well priced and superb service by Lexi, Any restaurant would do well to have her as a team member. We will come stay again.

Very very tired room and location. The view was great but that is it. Room booked for an Anniversary evening. We had to share a balcony with others. Couldn’t speak privately so we’re forced to sit inside the room. Windows and doors were not clean so the view which was the biggest (only) draw card was impeded. Balcony not even swept, let alone cleaned! Rotten wood at the doorway. Bathroom had no where to put anything except on the very large floor. Soap holder in bathroom broken. No where to put the one broken soap bar we were provided. Two seater lounge was very uncomfortable and appeared dirty. Three pillows provided for a king bed. The pillows were air filled pillow cases. I could have done with two more myself. Let alone my husband. Would never recommend this place. It should not be opened or rooms offered in its current state. Parking location was horrendous! Car port in bad repair, thought about moving our car to ensure it wasn’t damaged in winds. Bedroom window had no flyscreen so couldn’t leave it open and the flyscreen door leading to the verandah shared with others had no lock so we were unable to have fresh air in the room at all.

Lovely clean room with a beautiful view of the Glass House Mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful. There's a great restaurant on site with that serve delicious meals, breakfast, lunch and tea. Close to Gardner Falls for a nice swim and then in to the bar at Tranquil for a nice cold one.We enjoyed it so much, we booked a third night.

Basic rooms with limited furniture and uncomfortable beds. It’s in dire need of a complete renovation . The room was run down and in poor condition. It was also extremely loud overnight. Definitely not a suitable place to stay with a family.

We had our wedding at tranquil park and it was truly awesome! Our guests had such a lovely time, the staff were so easy to work with, we were in very capable hands! Such a great spot with views of the glass house mountains and so easy to have the ceremony, reception and accomodation for all of our guests in the same place! Thank you so much tranquil park!
