My wife and I have stayed at many $900 or so a night five star hotels around the world and I always find that in those hotels the room designers and the staff always know what I want before I do. Well I found exactly the same attention to the customer in 'King Parrot Cottage'. As I though I need an item there it was, excellent.
The cottage was fitted to five star standards with more than ample, easy to use, gas and air conditioning. The country vista from our cottage was superb and the cottage was quiet, private and totally silent.
The internet is available but on our second day the the download speed was only 10.2mps and upload speed just 9.6mps, then the internet failed for several hours.
The cabins are accessed by a narrow one vehicle wide but two way lane so be aware of cars coming towards you from around the corner.
What did concern me, is with the spas advertised quite overtly at no point did I see a notice telling me how the Spar pumps and water lines are cleaned and Sanitised between guests. Who knows what nasties are lying in wait in those water lines. For me there is no way I would use a communal Spa but every one to their own.
Just noticed at the end of our stay that guests are able to wander down the field in front of the Cottages. Easy going down but what a climb back.
Lovely five star cottage.

My friend had her wedding here last weekend. She rented the Grand House and had a beautiful marquee set up at the side of it. Everything was very well appointed for the ceremony, and the serving of food and drinks. It was an intimate venue and we had lots of fun. My partner and I spent two nights in the King Parrot Cottage. The view from the large rear deck was spectacular. The inside of the cottage was very large, and very well appointed. The double spa bath and a glass of wine was the perfect end to a busy day after setting up the marquee. Nice touch to have matching bathrobes and slippers in the wardrobe. Whilst there is a tv in the cottage it was nice to just sit with the gas log fire on and listen to music through the speaker in the iPhone docking station. The whole cottage was immaculate, but it felt so cosy and welcoming. The chocolates and handmade soap were a lovely touch. The bed was sooo comfortable and I had the best sleep I’d ever had in weeks. One of my pet hates staying away from home is when the bed sheets are tucked in so tightly they pin you to the bed, but not here. The bed was neatly made up, and once in bed everything just seemed to wrap around you without constricting you. At night the back blinds give you privacy and keep the heat of the fire in, but in the morning it’s amazing. You still have your privacy, but you can see the view over the valley as you’re lying in bed and the blinds keep all the glare out. Despite it being a busy weekend with the wedding, it has to be the most relaxing down time I’ve had in a very, very long time. If you’re travelling with a group, the Grand House is perfect. For an intimate weekend away, I cannot recommend the cottages highly enough.

I stayed here at the start of January when the region had constant rain. On the morning of our arrival we received a phone call from management checking up on us offering to check in over the phone. This was perfect for us so we didn't have to worry about running around in the rain. The cottage was filled with everything you could have needed from cleaning supplies to egg cups. The grounds were so gorgeous in the rain and they even supplied us with an umbrella to utilise during our stay. The staff were great upon all our interactions. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

We loved every minute of our visit! My husband and I were really looking forward to a quiet couple of days of time away together and the cottages at Blue Summit were so peaceful. We didn’t hear a single soul while we were there (but we did see some chickens, bush turkeys and a rabbit). The contactless check-in and check-out was very easy and we felt like we were the last people left on earth!
We thought the cottages were really well set up so there is privacy from other guests and there were many touches frequently not taken into account when accommodation is planned and built. There were things like the number of lights so different areas could be well lit or dimmed for more atmosphere. The blinds were really thick for most windows except there are opaque blinds that didn’t let in too much light and glare but showed off the wonderful view from the bed when you wake up in the morning. The bathroom was lovely with lots of space, was extremely clean with lovely toiletries and soft towels. The spa bath in the main room was relaxing and the locally made soaps and chocolates on the bed were a lovely touch.Â
We love our bed at home and have a good quality bed with really soft sheets so we were thrilled the bed was so comfortable and the pillows and sheets were soft and fresh. We usually take our own water when we go away because we are used to drinking filtered water at home so we were pleasantly surprised to find there was a water filter tap there already.
Due to family members staying with us for an extended period of time we needed some time away to rest and recharge. We’re pretty fussy people, don’t have children and have our home set up so it’s comfortable and quiet most of the time so we were desperate for some peace and we found more than we thought possible.
It’s probably the best place we’ve stayed to relax with all the comforts and wonderful views. We’ve already started to look at when we can sneak another break in and look forward visiting again soon!

We stayed in the "Kingfisher" cabin (not really the correct word as it was much more than a cabin). It was spotless on arrival and contained high quality fittings and every item you could wish for in the kitchen. Lovely gas fire for the cool nights and an awesome view either through the window from the spa bath or sitting on the verandah. We will definitely return

We have just arrived back after spending two nights at the Blue Summit Cottages in Maleny a gift from our children. It is a beautiful cottage, the views were amazing and the bird life we loved. The cottage is very spacious and loved the gas fire which we lit in the evening enjoying a glass of wine and taking in the magic of the views. I never used the spa bath but it looks nice. We loved the space and the fixtures in the cottage very nicely presented. The breakfast hamper box was a nice touch and we enjoyed eating our breakfast looking at the trees and watching the birds fly into the trees beside the kitchen area. I can highly recommed this beauitful area of Maleny and cottage and will definitely be returning, the owners were very nice people. Alison and Mike Rae

We booked for a 3 day, 2 night stay here and wished we stayed longer. We had a wedding to attend in nearby Maleny Manor so this was perfect. Check in was super easy and the lady was very helpful. I booked the King Parrot room and it was perfect. Self contained and a full kitchen was available if you wanted to get some groceries nearby to make breakfast or other meals. Great selection of teas and local coffee to brew was provided. I loved the little soap that was provided. Locally made. The room was extremely clean which is a high priority for me. There is a spa in the room which looked so inviting but we didn't have time to use it. Bathroom and toilet was functional. I loved the lush view we had from our balcony and was so nice to wake up to this. Admittedly it did rain alot but we still enjoyed our stay. The town itself is an easy 10 min drive and you had a few local restaurants to choose from and a Woolsworth if you needed groceries. Just saw that we did not get the complimentary bottle of wine as advertised and I totally forgot about that until I was writing this review. But apart from that little thing, I highly recommend this place.

Can’t speak highly enough of the stay we had at Blue Summit Cottages. The cottage itself was incredibly clean, amazing views, quiet, private and very well equipped with quality appliances and everything you need. Loved the Alpacas and the resident goose Gemima. Margie the owner was so friendly, welcoming and kind. So happy we chose to stay here. Nothing bad to say at all. Will definitely be back. We wished we had stayed another night.

My husband and I wanted a relaxing and 'Covid-safe' couple of nights away from the city and Blue Summit Cottages exceeded our expectations. Kingfisher cottage was beautifully furnished and the view over farmland and valley to the mountains was spectacular. The private cottage was designed to highlight the view no matter where you were - lounge, kitchen, dining, bed, balcony or spa. I was so glad we booked BBQ hamper and brought our own food as we didn't want to leave to go out! The bed was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept on and it was wonderful to see the sunrise over the mountains without even leaving bed! The private balcony was perfect for eating outdoors or relaxing on the sun lounger with a book; the gas fireplace kept the cottage cosy at night; and the huge, remote-controlled spa facing the mountains was perfect for relaxing. Appreciated the no contact check in and check out. The hosts and staff were friendly and helpful with our booking, ensuring a wonderful stay. Can't wait to go back!

The cottages at Blue Summit Cottages are all studio type accomodation set up for couples. Australia Zoo is approximately a 25 minute drive from the accomodation. If you are heading up that way, and you are a cheese lover, you must go to the little cafe in Maleny which has it’s own fromagerie. The cheese is absolutely amazing.
There are more places to choose from in the Maleny area.
