A fantastic retreat in the tablelands. Very comfortable treehouse with a great privacy. Well equiped kitchen and nice fireplace. Absolut perfect for nature and bird lovers. If we go back to the region we would again stay there.

Firstly before you arrive make sure you know exactly where you are going and I wouldn't recommend doing as some other guests had done and trying to find it in the dark, after all there is a clue in the title! That said it is set the most beautiful of locations right amongst the forest and surrounded by nature. The...

Thank you for posting a review of Rose Gums, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Finding Rose Gums at the end of what can seem like an endless drive to nowhere, makes the experience of settling into the luxurious comfort of your own little piece of the rain forest, that much more enjoyable. You certainly made the...

We've just spent two wonderful nights at Rose Gums. We were in Whipbird, which was a two bedroom A-frame cottage. I was with two young adults who had been very excited by the idea of staying in a treehouse, Swiss Family Robinson style. The cabin was not a treehouse, as it is called on the website, more a chalet, which...

This wonderful retreat near Malanda set in the Atherton Tablelands was a great find. The accommodation is comfortable, the fireplace is an excellent addition even in summer. We enjoyed the parrot and kangaroo experience very much, and I went with Jon the owner for a bird walk one morning. The highlight was the great cooking of Bradley the chef, he...

Our family of 5, including three children aged 13,11 and 9 had a wonderful 3 nights at Rosegums. If you have even the slightest interest in nature you cannot fail to enjoy a stay here and Peta really helped us to get the most out of our time by recommending walks and nearby attractions. I love the real fire stove. Although it was summer during our visit, I still burned the wood for real fire during evening when it's quite cool. I love the smell of wood fire. It's wonderful to have a cup of tea with bird singing around you. It's good that the kitchen fully equipped. The restaurant serves high quality dinner....

Stayed for two nights and loved it. We live in Cairns and it was so nice to find an awesome little retreat so close to home. Everything was top notch especially the dinner in the restaurant Really recommend it to everyone who loves getting close to nature in undisturbed peace and quiet.

The most extraordinary place I've ever stayed at. Superb accommodation, complete privacy in the midst of the rainforest. It's not for the faint hearted, if you don't like insects, nocturnal animals scampering on the roof, loud early morning bird song, deafening evening frogs chorus... There are way marked trails around the property. Again, visitors need to be aware of the...
