Hotel's Favourite
We had 5 nights in a king suite which was clean, spacious and comfortable. Great location being close to shops and restaurants. It was about 2 km from Qantas, Stockmans Hall of Fame and School of distant education which would have been a nice walk along the Botanic walking path if it hadn’t been 35°. However the owners were happy to drop us off and pick us up whenever we needed. Wonderful service Martin. 👏👏

Stay of 5 nights on a group tour and looked after by the fabulous Outback Aussie Tours which has their office at the train station opposite the Longreach Motor Inn.
Very pleased with the comfort of our room which was number 14 downstairs. A great queen size bed provided a good nights sleep in the spacious room which also had a single bed, refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing facilities, a flat screen TV and two easy chairs. The bathroom has had some upgrading, the toilet hasn't but works well and everything is clean. There are dispeners with the necessary liquids in the shower and above the sink. Towels are very clean and in good condition as is the bedding and pillows. There was no noise disturbance from vehicles at the motel or from the highway, or from adjacent occupied rooms.
Breakfast each day and some evening meals were in the very popular Harry's Restaurant upstairs in the main building and provided separately for the group. No complaints about the food here or anywhere else on the tour including on the train.
For comfort, nearness to shopping, pubs and other eating places I can recommend the Longreach Motor Inn.
PS. One minor thing. The lights at the room entrance need to be on at night to assist putting the key in the lock.

This is an older style motel, with good size rooms that are very clean and well maintained with daily room servicing. The staff were all very good. The hotel is in a very central location and an easy walk to hotels/restaurants the RSL and the main shopping area. The motel provides under cover parking and a very good restaurant. The only negative was the wifi which was not very reliable.

Perfectly adequate for a short stay, our ground floor room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the air con worked fine. It was rather a dated-style room compared with others on our trip and the lights were all really harsh. There was a good-sized bar fridge and kettle but no kitchenette, just a microwave and toaster which you needed to plug in via a long extension lead (provided). The water in the shower was always hot and the bathroom was clean although it had old-style fittings and was showing signs of wear. We borrowed breakfast bowls and cutlery from the guest kitchen which was useful. There was no openable window in the room apart from the wall of glass which was the sliding window/door out to the car park area. So no access to fresh air without having the door open which could be an issue in warmer months.

+1
As others have mentioned the motel is directly across the road from the railway station. Easy access for late running trains. The keys were left in a safe place as reception closed at 6pm. The motel was full (bus load of tourists catching the train the next day). Considering that there are 57 rooms the place was very quiet. It was very nice coming into the room with the air conditioner running on 22 degrees. (Nice change from the Longreach heat). The decor is older style though in very good condition. Most importantly the air conditioner was very efficient in cooling the room. The carpet looked new and was very clean. A good size mini fridge with a small freezer section in the room. Biscuits and plenty of coffee satchels available in the room. We had an upstairs room so it meant carrying the luggage up the stairs (Room 38). Breakfast was included in the booking and was in the adjoining Harrys restaurant (opening time 7am). Due to COVID times the menu was given to us on a plastic sheet. Not sure why we needed the menu other than to advise the price. The food came quickly and was hot and tasty.

With a two night stay in Longreach as part of our road trip, we found the Longreach Motor Inn to be comfortable accommodation. Check-in was friendly and very efficient. Our room was a good size and clean, with everything we needed for the two night stay. The WiFi coverage was somewhat patchy, good at times, but dropped connection at other times. The location was great, in that we could walk to most things, only needing to drive when visiting the Qantas Founders Museum and Stockmans Hall of Fame on the edge of town.
We didn't get to try the in-house Harry's Restaurant, but we understand this is a popular restaurant.
All in all a good, comfortable stay in a convenient location and would be happy to stay here again on future visits to Longreach.

Great bed, bathroom needs upgrade. Also think would be good idea to have toaster in room as during this COVID-19 time not much on offer in town as some Cafes having trouble with staffing and seating is limited.
Motel has room service breakfast, but to be fair, a toaster and some crockery/cutlery (even if on request bases) would lighten their load RE staffing as well.
Harry’s their onsite restaurant was great, we had the Crispy Pork Belly it was a big meal and delicious Need to book as can be busy
Also can say Birdcage Pub just 2 mins from here, Pizza was delicious, with COVID safe practices and very clean

We booked here after our first choice wasn’t available.
Stayed for 3 nights & would consider spending the extra to stay elsewhere.
PROS
✔️ good location easy walk to Main Street & pubs/cafes
✔️ Friendly staff
✔️ good size room
✔️free parking
CONS
✖️room is dated (not end of the world) & our toilet would only flush once & then wouldn’t flush again for a fair while
✖️could hear neighbours through the walls. 1st night we had noisy neighbours who were carrying on until about 1am. Not the motels fault but without soundproofing you run the risk of that happening!
✖️Price was $165 p/night which I feel is a bit high for the area

As other reviewers have said, the motel is a overall a bit tired and one does hear pretty much everything from one's neighbours, however, it is clean and has excellent facilities: the communal kitchen means you can do your own catering and there are washing machines available. We especially appreciated having a coffee-maker (Nespresso) as well as a fridge etc.
The staff are really helpful and it's a good location - walking distance to restaurants etc.
Given that this is the Outback, this motel is a great choice.

My husband and I stayed Sunday and Monday night. We asked about room service breakfast Monday and were told to go up town where we found was quite limited as a lot of other tourists doing the same.
Apparently breakfast was available in the restaurant next morning but we were not informed.
We understand that staff may be a problem during COVID but with everyone crying out for tourists to help the economy one would think a bit of extra effort to help bring better reviews would be appreciated.

Response from Sarah Kennedy, General Manager at Longreach Motor Inn
Responded 17 Sept 2020
Good afternoon Marion, I apologise that my staff members were not clear on the opening hours of the restaurant. Our restaurant is open for breakfast 5 days a week, from Tuesday until Saturday. We have staff enough to open for these 5 mornings but we do need to be able to give our staff 2 days off a week where we can. Unfortunately it is difficult to find staff at the moment as no one is applying for jobs we have open. Also - most of our staff are also working between housekeeping and the restaurant and absolutely putting in extra effort to ensure our guests have the best experience while they are in town. We appreciate that as you were here Monday morning, our restaurant was closed, but we also like to be able to send our guests into town to 'spread the love'. A lot of businesses here have been affected - like everywhere - and we are all trying our absolute best to get back to 'normal' just as soon as we can. Once again, apologies for the miscommunication about the restaurant, however, please be assured that every 'extra effort' is being made to ensure our guests comfort. Thank you for staying with us, and we hope to host you again in the future. Kind regards, Sarah

I doubt it. Just email the motel and ask them.
Hi Donna. Your question has already been answered by other reviewrs but just to reiterate, the motel is directly across the road from the railway station (approx 150m). Have a look on google maps and you will have a clear layout of the area. Hope this helps.
Hi Charlee, Our office is open until 8.30pm Monday to Friday & 8pm on weekends. If you are arriving outside of these hours, please call us with your credit card details and we can leave the key in the key box for you. Kind regards Tanya
