The Dam and its surrounds are just beautiful. That makes it all the more disappointing that attention to detail with the accommodation is lacking. We had a 2 bedroom chalet for a weekend. It is a 4 sleeper but had only one wine glass! There is no oven, only a 2plate electric stove and a microwave so one clearly opts for BBQ meals but there was no barbeque tongs and no grids to place meat on. There are stainless steel BBQs but the open fire BBQ is really so much more camp style. The washing up liquid comes in squeeze sachet and is really weak and quite useless. What's wrong with a small bottle which they can fill as appropriate. Oh yes and just 2 face cloths for 4 people. The coffee and tea mugs-cups are so thick and unappealing one has cold drinks most of the time because your drink has to first warm up the thick crockery! Just all round disappointing - yet we pay a very decent rate??

Went in January 2022 with a family two primary/ high school children.

We usually go to beach style holidays opposed to bush / dam settings so this was a change for
us. We have stayed at about 5 other safari tents parks and this park equivalent of “safari/ glamping” is way behind all the others (all other we have stayed at have an ensuite / showers and kitchen amenities including kitchen tap/ sink area and microwave.

We stayed in safari tent (1) and it is a basically a budget tent. Even trying to change clothing was a problem due to the layout of the tent and no screening. There were bathroom amenities about 100 m away which were average in cleanliness and very minimal in numbers. The park was no where near at capacity even though it is January school holidays. I would hate to see the lines / etc then with crowds. Safari tent 1 was located right next to the boat ramp so be prepared to listen to boats going in and out and cleaned near the ramp for a solid part of the day time hours.

The camp kitchen is on the other side of the park where there were no bins near the kitchen which made it quite the pain to clean off.

The safari tent could use a storage tub of basic bbq utensils to use. There is a wood fire pizza place that was on grounds when we were there. Beautiful pizza but $6 surcharge for g/free for one base where the pizza was dinner plate size was a bit steep. The pizza was tasty though.

This is a very budget park and it appeared users generally went there for boating. Saturday being a very busy day on the dam bank.

Majority of boaties were respectful to each other however a fair few jet ski operators were just complete utter dangers to themselves and other dam users.

A few people were seen paddle boarding in the morning however I doubt they could utilise the Dam properly during peak times.

There is a small boat, kayak and board company that operates on site and mini golf. The parklands are white baron and both much do do there after the water during the day time.

Kilcoy Exchange Hotel was a decent meal and courtesy bus that you could arrange from the park.

Whilst we are glad we went, this park certainly doesn’t fit our needs and wants. We will stick to the beach parks.

For anyone was looking for a safari tent camp in far south nsw, Seven Mile was awesome.

It’s a great place to visit starting when you check in with the staff always helpful and really friendly. Unfortunately the trip was spoiled by a group of disrespectful wakeboarders who started their noisy generator at 6.30am Saturday and 6.00am Sunday. Not everyone wants to get up at that time. Fortunately they placed the generator behind their caravans so they wouldn’t hear the noise- the neighbors did but... Just seems like the park is filling up with CUB’s with all their toys. If you want some peace and quiet give the weekends a miss.

Just spent relaxing week at lake Somerset. The park grounds were grassy with all sites having water views. We booked an unpowered site and were able to choose our site on arrival. There are several amenity blocks scattered throughout the park and a well equipped camp kitchen. All very clean. The boat ramp catered for 3 boats at a time and we caught lots of yummy redclaw. The fish weren't biting. Children loved the playground, the putt putt, swimming, playing on the big oval and riding their bikes and scooters around the park. I loved the instant boiling water available at the camp kitchen for a quick cuppa and to wash up dishes. Will definitely return.

We have stayed there previously in a cabin but decided to book a glamping tent.
After making the booking we read reviews and people said there is no bathroom and no kitchen. It is not worth paying for a tent with no facilities. We cancelled and lost our money .

Thank you for your review, it is unfortunate that you lost your money this was due to your booking being in premium season and also not letting us know that you wanted to cancel until the evening after your arrival date. We understand that our Safari Tents are not suitable for everyone and when we can if we are given the opporutnity we would certainly try to accommodate you in a different type of accommodation or offer you a credit to use at another time. If you would like to discuss this further at anytime please do not hesitate to contact us here directly at the Park Kerry

My wife and I have stayed at this wonderful venue many times during our annual two month winter touring trip of Australia. It is very popular every weekend, particularly for campers and vehicles that don't require power or water attachments and who can just pick their own site in acres of allotted availability Weekends also see lots of children and hundreds of boats, jetskis, etc. If you prefer a more peaceful stay then it becomes very quiet from Monday to Thursday with less than 10% of the weekend visitors at this time of the year. The amenities are always regularly well cleaned and all staff particularly those in reception are very helpful, and friendly. It is always a pleasure for us to stay at this park, particularly if we avoid the weekends

A group of 4 couples / families stayed here in the non powered site. The park was kept maintained and all areas kept clean of rubbish. even though it was in the school holidays there wasn’t any excess noise that woke any of the younger kids up. Would definitely recommended and if you don’t like the full camping experience you still have the facilities available to use toilet and shower

They provide mini golf free for kids to play.
If you bring nothing but want to play water, there is a small business hiring kayak & boat.
You may see some Kangaroos.
After checking out at 10am powered site, they allow you to stay until 6pm same date at unpowered site. So my family just move the camping trailer to another good spot to take some photos.
Overall, my family has a very good time here with lot of beautiful photos and videos. The only disappointed is we catch only 2 yabbies. Will definitely come back to catch more yabbies next time

We stayed in a 3 Bedroom cabin. It overlooked the lake and was extremely peaceful ( most of the time. Suggest visitors avoid weekends as the locals arrive en masse and are quite noisy. .thats their right ) . Linen supplied and the cabin very clean . Bit surprised that though they knew there were three of us only one bed was made up. No big deal but no reason why, maybe there is one. Plenty to do in the local towns and economically priced restaurants.

It's not great. Telstra is probably the best and they do have wifi to log into but it can be hard to get on when it is busy. 10 min drive to nearest town and it is mich better
Answer from Linda M
Hi Sandra - We have both powered and unpowered sites for vans and campers. Would be great if you could please contact the park through the website (sorry not able to put contact details in the answer section). Hope this all helps and you have a wonderful stay with us Linda - Customer Communications

No. Sorry no pets. There are other places on the scenic rim that I believe dogs are allowed.
