Under New Management Since Jan 2019 The Pub made famous in the Slim Dusty song - Pub with No Beer, is situation in the heart of Ingham as the Bruce Hwy curves through the town. The pub is built on the site of the original Day Dawn Hotel about which the poem "Pub with No Beer" was written in 1943 by Dan Sheahan who rode into the Pub one morning in 1943 to have a nice cold beer and discovered that a convoy of American serviceman had come through the previous day and drunk the Pub dry! The servicemen were on their way north to fight in Papua New Guinea in WW2. Later SLim Dusty recorded the poem in 1957 and it became a number 1 hit around the world.
