Detailed Reviews
Let me start with the good, the shower was excellent, once you were in it. The door took a bit of effort to open and close, but once inside it was a magnificent experience. I wish I could say the same for the room in general. I've stayed in some pretty poor places, Boulia, the middle of the desert in a swag, mining camp dongers. None were as charmless as the sight that greeted me upon opening the door. A sea of bland met my eyes, broken only by a single chair pushed tight into the corner and a small table kept company by two stained and uncomfortable chairs.
Don't get me wrong, its get everything you need, unless you want a couch, but noting more. I've seen better appointed prison cells. The lack of an oven also made my multiple week stay somewhat limited insofar as the cuisine was concerned.
After about a week I started to wonder when they might come and clean the room a little bit, you know, mop the floors, a light vacuum, maybe some new towels. Well, after consulting the handbook I discovered this most basic of services is an extra charge, something I've not encountered before.
So, if you're staying here linger than a few days be prepared to do your own cleaning with the cleaning supplies in the room (none) and it might be a good idea no nip down to Coles and grab some bog roll (not included) and some coffee and sugar (not refreshed).
I did consider breaking out of my cell, I mean leaving my room and having a swim in the pool but when I saw a dog swimming around in it I decided to give it a miss.
In short, if you're the sort of person that values privacy and solitude, this is for you. If on the other hand you wouldn't mind a clean towel every other week, maybe look elsewhere.
Oh, and there's a warning sign above the sink reminding you that if you don't wash your dishes before you leave you'll be charged $150. I assume they fly a specialist in from Sydney to do this considering the price.

The 2 bedroom unit was spacious. All on 1 level ground floor and provided reasonably well eqipped kitchen, washing machine, two couches in lounge full size dinning table with 4 chairs. Heating and cooling via 3 separate units. Front and back doors. Unfortunately the unit overall is getting tired. The bedrooms both have double cupboards but no shlving or draws. The floors need a good clean and the bedding is far too weighty. As we were there for 2 weeks we purchased our own bedding. The absence of a second tv in the bedroom was also disappointing. The in-house wifi was inaccessible on some days.

Highly recommend the Emerald Gardens Motel in Central Highlands Qld,Gateway to Sapphire Gemfields.
Stayed in well appointed Motel room, backed up by friendly and professional staff, conveniently located to the main business area in Emerald.
Great food at value for money prices from the in house Restaurant offering Room Service, reflecting the attention to detail, could not think of a better place to stay while in the area.
Thankyou to Sandra, Brian and the team for a memorable stay.

This is the second time I've stayed here and both times have been excellent. Check in was easy and the lady at the desk very friendly. I love the rooms. They are spacious and clean. It's definitely worth paying a little more for the extra space.

Host John was very helpful and friendly from the first phone call. When we arrived, late, he was very understanding and nice and personally showed us to our room where he explained the ins and outs of our apartment. The room was immaculate from top to bottom. If we ever need to stay the night in Emerald again we won't hesitate to stay here again. You will not regret booking your stay here.

I have rated this motel average for one reason. I will get to that in a moment. Firstly, the location is great. It's on the main road, but still quiet. It is within walking distance of several restaurants if you don't wish to eat there. The rooms are very nice. Spacious, clean and well appointed. Now the part that really annoyed me. As I was on business I chose this motel as their website advertised WiFi. I didn't care if it was free or not, I just needed a connection. The in room literature also said they had WiFi. When I couldn't connect, I enquired at reception, only to be told that they no longer had WiFi and hadn't done so "for a while". Now, I can understand the in room guide being out of date, but it only takes a second to update the website. To me this is false advertising and I told them so. While they were apologetic, it didn't help.

I stay here regularly with my work and have never been disappointed. There is everything I need for an overnight stay. Always immaculately cleaned, spa bath if I want to indulge and a good firm bed. I always feel warmly welcomed back each time too, no matter who greets me on arrival!

We booked a Studio Apartment with Kitchen for 1 night in July. We chose the Motel for its reasonable night rate. The apartment was an amazing surprise as it was the biggest and most flashy accommodation I have stayed in for a long time. For the price, I was expecting the usual motel room having a single open space with everything squished inside. Instead the apartment had a separate bedroom, full size kitchen, proper sink, washing machine, large bathroom, and full cutlery and crockery. Wi-Fi is available but at a cost. I would certainly stay here again.

Quality family accommodation at a realistic price can be difficult to find in Emerald, but the Emerald Gardens was a fortunate find and we were VERY impressed! The rooms are modern, spacious and immaculately clean. We had a problem with our hot water, and the staff were both efficient and friendly trying to fix the problem. Thank you Maria! We didn't get to try the on-site Indian restaurant (which we heard was amazing) but next time we are in Emerald we will definitely stay here again and try the cuisine as well. We stop over in Emerald half a dozen times a year (for both business and family) and have stayed at a different motel each time, but I believe we have finally found our #1 choice of accommodation in town and we will continue to stay here in the future.

Fantastic family accommodation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. It was so much bigger than we were expected. Heaps of room. Lovely and clean. Great spot in Emerald. Would not hesitate to recommend
