Amazing place and accomodation was unreal , would highly recommend this place. Solar power only and more than enough to take care of our needs , don’t waste your time turning on the TV as the view you can look at all day.

Pros: The cascades and pool are gorgeous and you have it all to yourself, we didn't even feel the need to check out the other local waterholes. Roundhouse kitchen is full sized and living area has plenty of room. Location is close to tropical icecream shop and other places of interest. Best tasting tap water I've ever had! Cons: No internet or phone signal (landline provided). No washer or dryer, I think there might be a laundromat nearby. A LOT of mosquitos (in a rainforest afterall) wear insect repellent tropical strength and use the mosquito coils provided. Lots of nature noises at night, wear ear plugs if needed. You can only use either the pool or cascades not both depending on which building you're in. Tips: If you have smaller kids the pool is more kid friendly which comes with the Cottage. In the round house you will need mosquito coils on whichever level you're sleeping on, the mozzies will feast on whoever does not have it. Definitely try Daintree Icecream Company we love, love their icecream.

sensational location fully immersed in the tropical rainforest of Daintree Cascades . Our own natural spring to cool off and have a drink and swim in , just heaven . we highly recommend at least 2-3 nights to refresh and unwind , and so central to all the other walking trails through the sheer magnificent ancient tropical rainforests over 400 million years in the making , a big thank you to the owners

This property far exceeded my expectations!! The roundhouse was roomy enough for the five of us to spread out and relax. The design of the house flowed flawlessly from inside to out. It felt like we were part of the rainforest. We explored the creeks and swimming hole on the property, and sat around the outdoor table by the fire and enjoyed the sounds of the wildlife. The kitchen was perfectly equipped to cook all of our meals and included extras like cooking oil etc. Ali the owner, was exceptionally helpful when booking and replied to any queries promptly. We will definitely be coming back here again!

Stayed at The Cottage for 1 week. Clean, private and well set out in the rain forest setting, Ideal for two people and very central to the Daintree area. The spring fed rapids with a good water hole only 30 seconds walk from the cottage was refreshing and most welcome after "seeing the sights". We enjoyed getting away from phone and TV reception and had no trouble filling in our time.

We loved everything about the small cottage. It is environmentally friendly, clean and comfortable and was the perfect place from which to explore the Daintree. As there is only limited phone reception in the region, we had no trouble unwinding and disconnecting from our usual busy lives and properly immersing ourselves in nature and reconnecting as a couple.

We stayed in the cottage for 4 nights and it was a very relaxing soothing experience. Close to nature and a private waterfall with a natural pool, is all what you need. There is an outdoor bbq as well. Lots of board games to keep you occupied and some good books as well. Very good collection of dvd's as well. For first timers who have experienced staying in a rainforest, come prepared with extra clothing. All electricity used here is from a very innovative and environment friendly hydro-power unit in the property. You can almost hear stress release from your body, since there are no mobile networks and other radiations, or any distractions in life. So just be prepared to get relaxed, but also stock up food, drinks and extra clothes(since its a rainforest you need to have dry clothes). Also, there is a store 1 km, and a hotel 2km, where you can still buy if you missed something. Amazing hosts James and Ali, and they took care of anything or everything that we needed. We will be back soon.

I was looking for a place to get away from Cairns for a few days and spend some time in the heart of the rainforest and I came upon Daintree Cascades. While it was quite a bit more expensive than accommodations in Cairns, it was well worth the extra cost and effort to get there. I was looking for a small cottage in the middle of the rainforest where you are surrounded by rainforest rather than people and that is exactly what I got. It is out of the way (but not too hard to find if you can use a map) buried in the rainforest but yet only a couple of minutes from the main road in and out of the Daintree. We only spent 2 nights there and I wish we would have been able to stay longer! If you do stay here watch out for the cassowaries on the road, as I would love to come back someday and see more of them!

Daintree Cascades is a magical place. Genuinely inside the Daintree Rainforest these two beautifully constructed houses are a haven for anyone who really wants to get close to nature. We stayed in the Roundhouse - the largest of the two houses. It has two double bedrooms (one is a mezzanine floor above the living area). The bedroom above the living area has both a double bed and a single. You could easily sleep five adults with this arrangement. The living area is very spacious and has an open plan kitchen (with a huge fridge freezer). We cooked all our meals here and it was super easy. Missed not having a microwave but suspect that is because they generate their own power here ! It has a lovely bathroom and there’s a TV/DVD player with plenty of films to choose from. But the thing that sets this place apart is the rainforest. Your ‘garden’ is the lush and beautiful Daintree Rainforest. Truly magical. Especially as the Roundhouse gives you such an amazing view of it. Just to add to that perfection you have your own cascading creek and water pools and waterfalls. The sound of rushing water is with you always and it really makes you feel connected to this amazing place. You can freely explore the forest on your doorstep but you do need to be careful. The rocks are slippery and the roots and branches are easy to trip on. If you are careful (and surefooted) however you really can have you own piece of the rainforest to explore. The water is clear and safe to dip in - there was a large Perch in one of the pools who didn’t mind company and loved to be fed now and again. Older children will love this place. I would however not leave them unsupervised as the forest and waterways are places where accidents can easily happen. You will need bug spray - lots of it. Also, it gets very dark at night and it’s hard to navigate the roads. So I would recommend you’re back home and tucked in before the sun sets ! Each home is set apart and relatively private but we did wander down and meet the neighbours. To access some parts of the water pools you will need to pass by each other’s houses. We didn’t go inside the Cottage but it did seem substantially smaller than the roundhouse. Perfect for a couple but might be a squeeze for more than two. There is no WiFi and no phone signal. So, it’s an electronics free proposition !!! Brilliant. Nearby are a few restaurants, the beach (no swimming though as you are in crocodile country), the Daintree Discovery Centre and some Crocodile tours (see my other reviews). Plenty to do over 2 - 3 days. Overall this is a fantastic hideaway that really puts you close to the nature in an extremely comfortable and beautifully put together home.
