A perfect place for our 25th wedding anniversary. Tranquil, peaceful and comfortable. The serenity was perfect. The cottage was very well appointed and the hosts, Peter and Daphne were outstanding. Daphne arranged our snorkelling trip and provided beautiful daily breakfasts of local produce. The Daintree region is full of good hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful 4 night stay. Lisa...

The weekend we chose to stay at the Daintree Valley Haven was a particularly wet one which resulted in being flooded in for a few extra hours. Peter and Daphne were extremely helpful, giving us timely updates on the water levels and even moving a fallen tree from the road so that we could be on our way. The overall...

Thank you very much, Katie - we' so pleased to hear the sudden, very unexpected wet weather didn't 'dampen' your weekend too much! We hope to meet you and Aaron again one day.

We stayed here for two nights on our last stop in Australia. It was a very good choice, the little bungalow was clean and comfortable and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The bungalow is surrounded by butterfly attracting flowers and we took some lovely pictures while just sitting on the verandah. The wifi was problematic while we were...

Thank you very much, Jackie, for your lovely review and Peter and I are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. We've had a little rain and now there are even more butterflies here! We are also very happy to hear that next week we will be hooked up to the new BNB internet satellite so will go from...

A fabulous rainforest retreat away from the Cairns tour buses and traffic. Daphne and Peter are excellent hosts and have put a lot of thought and care into the self-contained bungalows. They are full of tips and local knowledge about good deals and tours such as Birdwatching on the Daintree river, catching the car ferry and the best spots to...

We were so happy that we decided to travel the 8km up the Stewart Creek road from Daintree Village to our secluded B&B cabin (1 of 3) on Daphne and Peter's beautiful property. We could not have wished for more on our 5-night stay - birds, birds, birds - butterflies, a lovely garden, and an interesting walking trail. And the...

Thank you very much, Sue, for such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear, (even though there was a slight mix-up with your requested bungalow!), that you were comfortable and happy in Sunbird Sanctuary. We would love to meet you both again one day! Warm regards Daphne and Peter

We took one of Daphne and Peter’s self-contained cabins for two nights and enjoyed a perfect stay. Our hosts are very much the typical committed owner-managers, and the comfort and equipment very much showed their care and attention to detail. The cabin has a full kitchenette and is attractively furnished to a high standard. The garden location is peaceful (apart...

We were very happy to read your lovely review, thank you, and delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us - in spite of the poor condition of the road at that time. For most of the year the Council does a very good job of maintenance but they really do battle to keep up during the usually-wettest months...

The perfect place to get away from it all. Breakfast outside watching the fantastic butterflies, sunbirds, kookaburras and other wildlife, surrounded by the views of the rainforest; evenings relaxing in the hot tub listening to the sounds of the rainforest. Why did we not book for longer? Thoroughly recommended.

We had a splendid time in this lovely B&B. The surrounding was awesome. The hosts even have their own little walking trail through the rainforest. They were a great help by organising a bird watch trip and we got great information about the surrounding. We loved the "cook your own meal" and the breakfast was great. We enjoyed our three...
