Travellers' Choice
Set in the heart of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest, the Daintree Ecolodge combines nature, nurture and culture in a pure rainforest environment. Believed to be over 180 million years old, and the oldest tropical lowland rainforest on Earth, the Daintree Rainforest is a rare and precious botanical treasure. Nestled amongst the foliage, the Daintree Ecolodge showcases 15 eco-friendly bayans (treehouses) immersed in the breathtaking rainforest canopy. Rise to the sound of the birds in the rainforest above, breathe-in the fresh tropical air and discover the lodge's private onsite waterfall on a leisurely stroll through the enchanting rainforest. The Daintree Ecolodge provides the perfect base to explore the treasures of the Daintree region; the only place in the world where two UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites meet (the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef)! The Daintree Ecolodge is located 110 kilometres north of Cairns (90 minutes) and 45 kilometres north of Port Douglas (40 minutes) via sealed roads.

We had 4 nights here to celebrate a special milestone birthday. Even though it is just off the road, the minute you are on the property it feels like you are in the middle of the rainforest. The ambience is gorgeous and the surrounds beautiful. The pool is just right for those hot and humid days. The staff were absolutely amazing and make the big difference here. All the staff...from the managers to restaurant staff and the cleaners...all friendly, welcoming and polite. All making sure you were welcomed and looked after. Very intimate feel and experience! Very special and unique in these times. The bayans are just gorgeous, very spacious and the most wonderful view to the rainforest. We were placed up in No 12 and was just beautiful view. The spa was lovely and the massage heavenly. Breakfast was included and a good choice of options. The food for dinner at the restaurant was superb and the degustation dinner just amazing! We couldn't fault this most gorgeous venue!!!

My husband and I only stayed for one night, but we certainly took advantage of everything the property had on offer. The spa was divine, the food scrumptious and the service was the best I've experienced in QLD. It was honestly exactly what we needed after a crazy year. Thank you to all of the staff... we greatly appreciated your positive attitudes and genuine enthusiasm for the beautiful place in which you work. We will definitely be back :)

We had the most incredible stay at the Daintree Ecolodge. The staff were amazing and super friendly, especially Sandy, Rita and Charles. They helped my partner organise proposing to me, and they made it so special and truly unforgettable. I was also treated to a spa treatment (facial and massage) by Cathy, which was wonderful. Thanks again to the amazing staff for making our time and engagement so special! Alice and Joe

We stayed here for a very relaxing peaceful 4 nights. It has a great location if your wanting to do croc tours, visit cape tribulation or even a day trip back to cairns, everything is easy and accessible (if you hire a car). The out look, rooms and restaurants are very peaceful although even though the service was Amazing and the people were very lovely I think a little refinement is needed to justify the prices of the rooms and meals. The food was all very nice , but it is at a very slow pace also the rooms were cleaned nicely but very basic and tea pots and coffee were not cleaned or checked on a daily basis. Also the poor staff have to run the restaurant and check the guests into the rooms at the same time.. I’m not sure if these are new issues due to Covid, and they are not a big deal they are only little details to help improve. Thank you guys for an amazing experience we feel refreshed and we would definitely return in the future.
