We stayed here for a very relaxing peaceful 4 nights. It has a great location if your wanting to do croc tours, visit cape tribulation or even a day trip back to cairns, everything is easy and accessible (if you hire a car).

The out look, rooms and restaurants are very peaceful although even though the service was Amazing and the people were very lovely I think a little refinement is needed to justify the prices of the rooms and meals. The food was all very nice , but it is at a very slow pace also the rooms were cleaned nicely but very basic and tea pots and coffee were not cleaned or checked on a daily basis. Also the poor staff have to run the restaurant and check the guests into the rooms at the same time.. I’m not sure if these are new issues due to Covid, and they are not a big deal they are only little details to help improve.

Thank you guys for an amazing experience we feel refreshed and we would definitely return in the future.

Hi eatingoutwithstasi2, Thank you for your review and your feedback. We are currently working toward a refinement so thank you for taking notice. As for our staff, last year was a difficult year with Covid so we were doing our best to maintain our professional service with limited staffing, however, thank you for stating they were amazing and lovely. Your feedback is warmly welcomed and we are continuing to improve in all areas now that we're back up and running successfully again after the pandemic. We are so happy that you did enjoy your stay and all the wonders of the incredible location we have! We look forward to welcoming you back sometime soon!

The eco lodge is nestled amongst the rainforest of Daintree. From description you look across the restaurant overlooking a natural pond and trickling stream. The rooms are immaculate with a modern, but simple feel with a balcony overlooking the pond or forest canopy. Food from the restaurant was delicious and the staff were incredibly attentive. We had an issue with our shower which was rectified the same day and we were refunded an amount off our final bill to compensate. A great visit we will never forget. Thank you! Steve and Emma (UK)

My partner and I recently spent a very relaxing 3 nights in a Canopy Banyan. The location in the rainforest was very serene with the constant sound of the waterfall and creek lulling us off to sleep each night. The location was perfect for access to Daintree River cruises and for a day trip across the Daintree by car ferry and up to Cape Tribulation.

The banyans were adequate for a short stay with the only negative being the water pressure from the rain shower was somewhat low. I’d recommend the Canopy banyans over the Lagoon or Rainforest ones for more privacy.

We were somewhat disappointed with the fairly limited restaurant menu, which didn’t change during our stay, some daily specials to provide alternatives to the 4 entrees and 4 mains on the menu would have been good. The degustation menu was no longer offered during our stay. We ended up heading into the Daintree Village Hotel for one of our dinners just over a 5 minute drive away. This was pretty much the only other dinner option for miles.

Breakfast was a choice off an al la carte menu with juice and excellent coffee included.

We had planned to spend a day relaxing and spending some time by the pool but I have to say the ambience and look of the pool did not make it appealing - we saved our pool time for Port Douglas. Perhaps some new pool furniture/umbrellas/large pot plants in this area may improve this.

A stay at the Daintree Ecolodge combined with a stay in Port Douglas have us the best of the rainforest and the coast and made for a great FNQ experience.

Hi Brooke1000, Thank you for your review, the location is truly enchanting. Where else in the world can you fall asleep to the sounds of an 180 million year old rainforest. We appreciate your feedback regarding the menu, we want our guests at the Julaymba Restaurant to enjoy the freshest homegrown and locally sourced, seasonal and sustainable produce nature has to offer. The culinary team change the restaurant menu regularly to showcase produce from the onsite vegetable garden and surrounding farms, however we have passed on your feedback regarding more regular alternatives for the entrees and mains. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Rachel

Stayed at the ecolodge for 7 nights, Staff were very friendly and food was very nice. Overpriced for what it was though, certainly wouldn't pay $400 - $550 / night for it. Pool area wasn't very appealing, dinner menu was limited which made it hard for 7 nights. A room safe and complimentary bottled water would be a nice touch and a slightly higher level of service based on the price. No refund if having to cancel due to Covid closer to your stay. Massage was very good and over all a good stay, but 2-3 nights would have been enough.

Excellent location for some time up in the Daintree. Great experience waking up in the trees with all the birds etc...The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and ours was very private (#16); but some rooms do look directly over the restaurant (glad we didn't get one of those as there is less privacy). The food was great albeit we did find we were wanting more variety when staying a few nights. The pool is an ice bath even on a hot day.....put some solar/enviro friendly heating in guys (relatively cheap - it is 2020).

This was a birthday treat for me and my girlfriend for our January birthdays, 2 nights at Daintree Ecolodge. We’re Cairns locals and decided to take advantage of a local’s deal and do something we wouldn’t normally do. It’s an easy drive from Cairns to the Ecolodge with fabulous scenery. The Ecolodge is just off the main road and in the midst of the rainforest. The gardens are beautifully maintained. We had booked a Lagoon bayan (treehouse) which overlooked the pond and lodge (social meeting point)/restaurant area. We heard no noise from this area in our bayan. The bayans are individual, stand-alone treehouses, very spacious, modern and clean. There are no TVs which means no distraction from the wonderful sounds of the rainforest.. frogs, birds, cicadas. You do get mobile service. The bayan’s front verandah is completely screened for guest comfort from bugs. Cathy at the Wellness Spa has healing hands and I would definitely recommend at least one massage. Making a booking prior to arrival is recommended. The menus are not extensive but there is something for everyone and the quality is first class. I had seafood dishes for my dinners and they were absolutely delicious and fresh. I would recommend a minimum 2 nights stay to get the experience of staying in the rainforest, relaxing and taking in some local experiences in the area, of which there are many. A big shout out to thank all the staff for making our stay such a memorable and unique experience.

Hi Roam56528934446, Thank you for the big shout-out! We are so happy you had such a great experience. You've gone out of your way to give tips to those interested in staying at the Daintree Ecolodge and we are very grateful for this! There is so much to do and so many memorable adventures and spots to see; we completely agree with you that a minimum stay of 2 nights is essential. Cathy is a true talent in her massage techniques so it is great you got to enjoy some time at the Wellness Spa on location. The frogs, birds, and cicadas all add to that Bayan/rainforest feel that we just love so much! We warmly welcome you and your girlfriend back as soon as you like! Thank you so much, Eliza.

Incredible experience being in a canopy overlooking the lush rainforest of the Daintree. The staff went above and beyond at the Daintree Ecolodge and check in was super quick and staff guided you to the room you had booked. I stayed in room 5 in the Lagoon Banyan and I was impressed on the layout of the room and how spacious the canopy was and the balcony was really enjoyable to sit and watch the sunset along with the sounds of the rainforest. If you love a comfortable bed you won’t be disappointed the king size bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on and I have travelled a lot. Overall I really enjoyed my stay over two nights & I highly recommend the Daintree Ecolodge. I flew up to Cairns and hired a car at the Airport and It took around 1 hr and 45 minutes to get to the Daintree Ecolodge but It was a really enjoyable drive with lots to see along the way.

The setting is lovely with gorgeous tropical gardens. The staff are friendly and welcoming and were eager to make the stay memorable. Maps and ideas for activities were available from reception. We had dinner 2 out of the 3 nights and the food was outstanding. Breakfast was also delicious. We stayed in the Lagoon/ Restaurant view rooms 2 and 3. Ask for 4 or 5 as the others have no privacy from the screened balcony onto the restaurant or pay the extra for canopy rooms. If you have trouble with steps, ask for the rooms off the carpark. The rooms were nicely decorated with leaf teas and plunger coffee provided. Very comfortable beds.
The pool is advertised as heated but were told on arrival that it was not. The walk to the waterfall is slightly difficult and you need your insect repellent. The location is good for day trips in the area.

Hi AustraliaAnne, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your stay with us. Our staff will be so pleased to hear their welcome was well received. We appreciate your feedback around the room selection, we are fortunate to have a few styles of bayans for our guests to help accommodate their needs depending on what they hope to get out of their experience with us. And we apologise again for the inconvenience with the pool and will be looking into this further. We highlight this on our website as a refreshing pool and are incredibly sorry if this dampened your experience at the Daintree Ecolodge. Great tip on the insect repellent though, the walk to the waterfall is along the rainforest trail and insect repellent is important! Thank you again for your review & we hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future. Rachel

The people were wonderful and location is truly immersed in the rainforest setting. We rented two "Canopy Bayan" rooms. The rooms were clean, and private. The tub on the balcony overlooking the rainforest was pretty neat. We stayed here at the end of our Australian trip for relaxation and serenity. My wife and daughter booked a spa day and said the treatment was the best they've ever had.

The reason I gave this resort only 3 stars is for thee reasons:
1) The food at the restaurant wasn't very good. Each of the 3 members in our party ordered a different entree and none of them were edible. This was disappointing since the website touted the restaurant as being high-end.
2) I'm sure it was just timing, but we were not informed at the time of our reservation that there would be construction going on during our stay. What was supposed to be quiet and relaxing was interrupted by the constant noise of power tools all day, every day. It was too loud to take a nap.
3) My wife and daughter scheduled a spa day. They were instructed to wear their robes through the private paths to the spa building. Unfortunately, they were glared at by all of the construction workers (see #2) on their way to the spa house, making them feel uncomfortable. To me this is unacceptable.

For the price, none of these things should have been an issue. This place has the potential of being great, however I would be cautious if you are considering staying here.

Hi BestOpinion, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your complimentary upgrade to our Rainforest Bayan which feature a bath on the enclosed balcony. It certainly is a luxurious addition which I'm pleased you indulged in. It's also wonderful to hear that your wife and daughter enjoyed their day spa experience thoroughly. I'm sorry to hear that your dining experience was below your expectations and that our recent building works impacted on what should have been a peaceful and relaxing stay. I sincerely hope that if you return to Australia we can welcome you again to indulge you in our Rainforest setting and you can enjoy the refreshed rooms. Best wishes from the Daintree.

I had been dying to stay in the Daintree and what a treat it was to stay in this beautiful treat of a place. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a wonderful team, where nothing was too much trouble. Our kids were staying in a room not near us, and this was rectified immediately, which was greatly appreciated. The surroundings are sublime, with 2 waterfalls on the property. My daughter and I even took a swim at the base of one which was a lovely experience for us both as we hadn't swum in a natural waterhole before. From the food, to the little thoughtful touches, it was an experience I would highly recommend. One example that I have to share, was when we went down to breakfast, both our rooms were tidied and the beds were made, by the time we made it back up. Very much appreciated and added to the luxury this resort clearly prides itself on. Thank you to all the team at the Daintree Ecolodge! We will be back!

Hi, is there anywhere to park our caravan whilst staying at the lodge.

There is off road parking for vehicles but I suspect for caravans you would have to park off-road somewhere. Would suggest contacting the lodge to see if they can recommend something.

Stairs could be an issue if you have a disability, also the driveway is fairly steep. I would contact reception to discuss this as they have several rooms that have easy access to the bar and dining area. From what we saw all rooms are quite modern. I hope this helps.
