Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Driving past on Easter Saturday we saw the sign and popped in for lunch. Greg the owner was very accommodating and made us fresh coffee and the steak sandwich with fresh lettuce and tomato was worth the$20..
Greg has free pool table to use and we had a look around the lodges all pristine and immaculately maintained. Will definitely look to stay here as everything is Eco friendly and off grid all funded by Greg’s hard work

Stopped for a quick breakfast on the way back to the ferry today.
The place is beautiful and secluded and the cabins looked lovely !
Greg the one man team took our orders , cooked the food , cleared & cleaned the plates.
The food was really good my friend had the bacon and egg in pitta and loved it . I had scrambled egg which was good and such a generous portion!!
First time trying daintree tea too which was a massive pot and it was so tasty !
Thankyou for your hospitality service !
Time to give the locals some business !! :)

Host Gregg made our stay at Daintree Peaks one to remember. His mantra on arrival was “I’m at your service” and he delivered that with every meal we enjoyed in the airy dining area, which has spectacular views to Mt Thornton, rising over 1350 metres above the tropical forest. Delicious evening meals were cooked to order using as much produce grown locally as possible.
The cottage was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and truly eco-friendly with all power, water and treatment being off grid.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking solace in the Daintree forest.

Well where do I start? The accommodation here is good. It’s got all of the trimmings that you need (pool, pool table, cafe, clean units, lovely set up inside the units). The entire set up in eco friendly (ground water fed with solar panels) which is awesome. The cafe also utilises seasonal produce & vegetables from the veggie garden on site.

If I was to be critical - the owner (Greg) is an interesting guy. Not overly welcoming. Checking in slightly before 2pm will get you a very grumpy Greg. Greg charges $16 for a sausage roll and can of soft drink. There are very strict instructions of not eating inside the units themselves & the units are not equipped with the basics to pack your own lunch. There is a giant flash light which shines into your unit, making sleeping very hard as all units face the flash light.

Overall, it’s nice & equiped with everything you need. However, the hospitality & presence of grumpy Greg is not very desirable & one of the reasons why we will not be returning.

Had four steak sandwiches with salads. The steak was overcooked and not that great. Everything was overpriced for what you get. The final sting was the owner charging us an extra $3 for the tap water when we paid the bill. Go to one of the other restaurants in the area.

The worst experience ever in my travels. Met the unfriendly Manager Greg gave me a run down on the property and its rules. The Manager was very rude to my partner who he critised wanting to go to the toilet immediately after our 5 hour journey there. The facilities outlined and offered were poor and very misleading. There is no actual bar or restaurant or cafe. Its more like a Canteen set up back in my school days. The free breakfast menu was lame. The Cabins themselves are quite comfortable though we had issues with power whilst I was about to have a shower. Then there were drainage issues. We did not eat here as we had nothing on offer for dinner so we ended up at a place called Whet restaurant and bar approx 25mins drive away and they had great food and beers on offer not to mention better service. We did book 2 nights here but stayed for just one we left as early as possible the next morning and seeking a refund for the 2nd night which I'll be very surprised if i do get a refund back. Overall please reconsider staying here. There are other places that look much more friendlier.

A peaceful, relaxing stay. We enjoyed chatting and comparing our overseas experiences with the owners, Greg and his wife Lisa.
Our meals were straightforward homecooked food, more than adequate serves. The fruit salad at breakfast was freshly made using some of the fruits from their garden.
The chalets are comfortable, good sized with a comfortable bed. Air-conditioning is available but we didn't need it in late September/early October as the as the windows provided good ventilation.
Despite the setbacks of Covid and cyclones our hosts provide a good ecologically aware service. Wifi was also excellent.
We would be happy to stay again. Thanks for the stay

We booked 2 nights at this place. While asking the owner for directions to the place, he was rude on the phone and spoke to me like I was an imbecile. Extremely unhelpful and arrogant. We arrived at the place at 1pm just so we knew where the place was so I said sorry we're early but and he cut me off by saying "Yeah, you ARE early". When we finally checked in, we found that there was no cutlery and no crockery apart from two cups, 2 glasses, a tea spoon and a tea stained dish rag. I did not see that these things would not be provided in the information I read prior to booking, it only stated what you would get, not what you weren't going to get. He also told us that we were not allowed to eat in the room. I told him that we had decided to only stay for the one night, to which he replied "Do what you want" and refused to refund me for the second night.

The room was made of tin, had a bed, table and chairs and a kettle. Apparently there were facilities at the place that he didn't tell us about. All of this for $250 a night. We cut our stay short because of his attitude. NEVER AGAIN!

Visited for two nights whilst exploring the daintree area from Brisbane. Absolutely beautiful place to stay! Greg has put lots of work into the place. Super comfortable, clean and well kept chalets to stay in! Comfy beds with aircon and fans to keep cool in your room! A huge creek and pool onsite to swim in and lots of cool animals and stuff onsite to see. The food was cooked fresh everyday for us by Greg! Yummy breakfast included each morning with great coffee. Greg is a true aussie bloke and his passion and love for this place shines through! 10/10 would recommend this lovely place to stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed one night at the Daintree Peaks ECO Stays. The owner Greg was a wonderful host and absolutely hilarious. He made home-cooked dinner and breakfast for all the guests and was very accommodating during our stay. He has a pool on site, and an open-concept entertainment area with a pool table, board games, TV and couches. Breakfast and dinner are included and he has cold drinks for purchase.

He has a beautiful peaceful 25-acre property with amazing views of the mountains. The cabins were spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. There was excellent AC and wifi. We had a great stay and would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Thanks Greg!
