Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Terrible coffee served by a very rude man in a cafe with the ambiance of an army barracks. And to top it off the crap coffee that “only comes in mugs” cost $14 Absolute rubbish Does the Daintree a disservice. Honestly it was the worst place I have ever been to in the world!

The worst food we have EVER had in all our travels. Absolutely shocked that someone so rude can be in hospitality. Disgusting .... do not waste your money. Keep driving up the road, much better options. $20 for a dry bun, gross patty, no salad flavourless "burger". ZERO effort. Yuck!

My boyfriend and I stayed one night at the Daintree Peaks ECO Stays. The owner Greg was a wonderful host and absolutely hilarious. He made home-cooked dinner and breakfast for all the guests and was very accommodating during our stay. He has a pool on site, and an open-concept entertainment area with a pool table, board games, TV and couches. Breakfast and dinner are included and he has cold drinks for purchase. He has a beautiful peaceful 25-acre property with amazing views of the mountains. The cabins were spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. There was excellent AC and wifi. We had a great stay and would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Thanks Greg!

We booked 2 nights at this place. While asking the owner for directions to the place, he was rude on the phone and spoke to me like I was an imbecile. Extremely unhelpful and arrogant. We arrived at the place at 1pm just so we knew where the place was so I said sorry we're early but and he cut me off by saying "Yeah, you ARE early". When we finally checked in, we found that there was no cutlery and no crockery apart from two cups, 2 glasses, a tea spoon and a tea stained dish rag. I did not see that these things would not be provided in the information I read prior to booking, it only stated what you would get, not what you weren't going to get. He also told us that we were not allowed to eat in the room. I told him that we had decided to only stay for the one night, to which he replied "Do what you want" and refused to refund me for the second night. The room was made of tin, had a bed, table and chairs and a kettle. Apparently there were facilities at the place that he didn't tell us about. All of this for $250 a night. We cut our stay short because of his attitude. NEVER AGAIN!

This place is in an amazing location with views of Thorntons peak while you drink your morning coffee. You can fall asleep to the sounds of the rainforest with all it’s bird life, wildlife and frogs calling. Greg has also set up a veggie garden and numerous tropical fruit trees and this fresh produce is used in the kitchen. We enjoyed our visit and we will be back. We enjoyed our visit and will be back

The worst experience ever in my travels. Met the unfriendly Manager Greg gave me a run down on the property and its rules. The Manager was very rude to my partner who he critised wanting to go to the toilet immediately after our 5 hour journey there. The facilities outlined and offered were poor and very misleading. There is no actual bar or restaurant or cafe. Its more like a Canteen set up back in my school days. The free breakfast menu was lame. The Cabins themselves are quite comfortable though we had issues with power whilst I was about to have a shower. Then there were drainage issues. We did not eat here as we had nothing on offer for dinner so we ended up at a place called Whet restaurant and bar approx 25mins drive away and they had great food and beers on offer not to mention better service. We did book 2 nights here but stayed for just one we left as early as possible the next morning and seeking a refund for the 2nd night which I'll be very surprised if i do get a refund back. Overall please reconsider staying here. There are other places that look much more friendlier.

Host Gregg made our stay at Daintree Peaks one to remember. His mantra on arrival was “I’m at your service” and he delivered that with every meal we enjoyed in the airy dining area, which has spectacular views to Mt Thornton, rising over 1350 metres above the tropical forest. Delicious evening meals were cooked to order using as much produce grown locally as possible. The cottage was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and truly eco-friendly with all power, water and treatment being off grid. Highly recommended for anyone seeking solace in the Daintree forest.

Stopped for a quick breakfast on the way back to the ferry today. The place is beautiful and secluded and the cabins looked lovely ! Greg the one man team took our orders , cooked the food , cleared & cleaned the plates. The food was really good my friend had the bacon and egg in pitta and loved it . I had scrambled egg which was good and such a generous portion!! First time trying daintree tea too which was a massive pot and it was so tasty ! Thankyou for your hospitality service ! Time to give the locals some business !! :)

The drive is stunning and the destination serene. Totally spontaneous visit after an afternoon at Mossman gorge - we called Greg at Daintree peak eco cabins and he very kindly accepted our booking. We now know why he sounded perplexed when we said ‘we’re on our way - leaving Mossman gorge now - see you soon’. Such a rookie mistake in time management on our part. Car ferry, monsoonal rain, cassowary crossings, rainforest, windy windy roads did make the journey interesting but that’s the joy of a road trip! DPEC is not a resort, there’s the Daintree as your entertainment - if you Need tech gadgets and fast internet please stay elsewhere . Greg is a great host , bartender, barista, chef, orchard technician, gardener, builder,…. The cabin was very new, clean, well appointed and I think the best nights sleep I’ve had in a very long time

This was booked for my as a Christmas present :( We were excited to read the good reviews…. Unfortunately we found the owner to be extremely rude and confrontational. We drove for 6 hours to stay here and ended up leaving to stay at coral sea views chalets which was 100 times nicer and welcoming. Sorry I never leave bad reviews but I would never come back here.
