Lovely self contained spacious appartment with everything I needed. It was very clean and instructions emailed prior to arrival were comprehensive and clear. It was very quiet, whether there were others in the house or not. Also heard no noises from the pub across the road. Because it was unusually hot for July I did my sunrise walks to the Smelter at 6am and sunset walk to Balancing Rock in the late afternoon. I very much chilled in Chillagoe 😊.
Loved our stay at Chillagoe Guesthouse. Well equipped and comfortable in the heart of town. The ensuite room great. Kitchen and lounge great too. If you love history you will enjoy this place. Nice to just stroll across to the pub and all around this tiny, friendly little place. Of course then there are the cave tours etc. Great for a peaceful few days
Eugene has pulled out all the stops, there is not a single thing lacking in this gorgeous Historical Post Office reno. 6 clean, comfortable and well appointed rooms, plenty of living space and shared areas, or sneak on to one of the three balconies for some solitude. Every detail was with our comfort in mind. From the complimentary breakfast foods, information brochures, free phone service and many other little touches that make a property (and Host) like this stand out. Chillagoe has some spectacular sights and this makes the perfect base for exploring Wakaman country. My only request would be more information in house on the Traditional Owners of the area and not completely focusing on the white pioneers, though being the historical building it was fairly understandable.
5 of us stayed there overnight, last weekend. The accommodation is fantastic, breakfast is included, very clear and tidy. We only stayed 1 night but should have stayed 2. There is quite a lot to do in Chillagoe. Highly recommended, I will be back
Husband and I decided at the last minute to see the sights of Chillagoe. A quick search found this gem of a guest house. This converted post office is a great base to explore the caves of Chillagoe. We had the place to ourselves so had the room with the en-suite. We enjoyed the option of serve yourself breakfast- everything is provided. Very clean and best of all- across the road from the pub. Perfect for families as there is the option of accommodation that included bedrooms, shared kitchen and common areas that is separated by a wall from the rest of the house.
