Lovely rooms. Comfortable beds. Staff are friendly and helpful. Close to all attractions around town. The water being bore water has got a smell but is good to drink, brush your teeth and shower in. Book early as can book out quick in peak times.

Booking online, check in and checkout/key drop off was smooth and no hassle at all. The staff are lovely to speak with. The two bedroom family rooms are fairly spacious for three adults and a toddler. The second bedroom with two single beds is quite small and not big enough for any luggage to be stored in but as we were only there for one night it did not impact us. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean and tidy and the shower was hot with great water pressure. The motel itself was quiet and we were not impacted by noise from other guests. The only negative points were in the second bedroom where one of the lights did not work and the other light had the button on the switch missing so two of the four lights in the room were not functional and there is no air-conditioning in the second bedroom, only a ceiling fan, so the temperature (according to our baby monitor) was sitting at around 27c for most of the evening. We had the window open as well for a breeze if there was one but the hot and stuffy room made for a rather restless nights sleep. We would stay here again if we were ever in the area.

Have stayed here 3 times as many times as we have visited Charleville, located an easy walk or drive into town the Cosmos centre and across from the train station. Given the location and distance from the cities the owners do a great job, newly built the rooms are modern, clean, well equipped, well maintained with comfy beds. It is so nice to stay outback in a nice new motel unlike some older motels that are not maintained or modernised, there is no other motel in town that comes close to the Rocks Motel. Staff are very friendly helpful and obliging, there is also an excellent restaurant attached if you do not wish to go into town where options are limited.

A very modern motel. Rooms were petite but perfectly formed. There were power points everywhere which made charging numerous devices so easy. The shower was lovely (had a bath mat and a shower mat) and I loved the coffee machine - I had no idea you could make a flat white from a coffee pod!!!
Across the road there’s a service station so grabbing a coffee and a pie or anything else that’s needed was easy, and the visitor centre is just across the main road.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. I was very impressed with this place.

This motel in Charleville is very new and is on the site of the The Rocks Hotel that burned down a number of years ago, hence the name. The new owners have spared no expense in providing fabulous accommodation and is by far the best accomm we have had on our holiday. Kathy at reception checked us in without hassle and helped us book into the Cosmos Observatory tour. Room was very clean and fresh, shower was hot, bed was very comfy, onsite parking outside each room, enough space in the room, very quiet, even had a microwave. I would definitely stay here again and wish the restaurant had been opened (not open on sunday nights). Don't bother looking anywhere else for your Charleville accommodation. Dinner at the RSL was great, and try the Milk Bar Cafe on Alfred.

This motel makes great claims about being the newest and most modern accommodation in Charleville which is probably true. However stating that it offers city style accommodation is a bit of a stretch. The room we had was certainly well decorated and appeared to be well appointed on first impressions but the shower experience was easily the worst I have had in any level of accommodation anywhere in the world. It was barely a mist with some sharp needle like jets of water. Despite the minute amount of water that we felt in the actual shower, somehow there was water everywhere when we got out, that then got tracked all over the main room. It was impossible to reuse the towels because we had to mop the floors with them. It was also disappointing to find the on site restaurant closed. I could have missed something when I booked but I certainly don't remember being told about that. The laundry was very much appreciated and easy and free to use and we could walk to the only pub offering food in the town during our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. If the shower was anything like a "city style" experience this would be a perfect place to stay.

The Rocks Motel is within walking distance from the Railway station and offers very comfortable and clean units with well kept gardens and swimming pool. The units are spacious with comfortable double beds, aircond , tv, free WiFi, Microwave, kitchen utensils and coffee making facilities. The management is super friendly and very helpful in finding your way around Charleville. They recommended the RSL for dinner which is within walking distance and the food and service was great.

With the Corona Virus prohibiting international travel, Australians are heading for the outback. So demand is very high and Motels can charge excessively. $ 162 for a Queen room in Charleville proves that point. The Rocks is the new kid in town : modern, typical motel-style cabins, which are designed for an overnight stay. The parking lot in front of your room is gravel and the deck area outside is timber, both surfaces that are noisy when your neighbours arrive late after dinner or depart early in the morning. The cabin feels like an oversize caravan, with a minimalist lay-out focused on functionality. The bathroom is a little cramped. The first thing that strikes you when entering is an overwhelming smell of rotten eggs, which the cleaners try to hide by liberal use of carpet deodorant, aggravating the pungency. There is a note to say that the water is drawn from the Great Artesian Basin - this explains the smell, which is clearly outside the control of the owners. I have to say that you quickly get used to it and the water is wonderfully soft to shower with. The restaurant was closed during our stay, but we were looking forward to an extensive breakfast that we had ordered for 7am. When nothing showed up 40 minutes later, I made my way to reception, when the owner told me that there was no power, so no breakfast. Fair enough, you cannot cook without electricity. But I am flabbergasted why she had time to water the garden, but NOT knock on our door to tell us ! We could have left an hour earlier to get breakfast at the local bakery, which she advised me to do.

We stayed at Rocks Motel for one night. The motel is centrally located in Charleville. Our rooms were well appointed with all the modern amenities you need - including a pod coffee machine (coffee addicts will understand this ;) ). The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool looked inviting, but we didn’t swim in it. I would definitely return if in the area again.

I recently spent two nights at the Rocks Motel and enjoyed it very much. I arrived on the Westlander Train at around 11.30 and I was able to leave my luggage at Reception before check in at 2.00pm. Angie, the Relieving Manager, kindly let me leave my lugagge there all day on Friday until the train departed at 6.00pm. Check in was easy as was check out. The room was clean, still new, had a contemporary style to it. The hot water in the shower was string and hot and it was quiet at night. It was perfectly located for me being across the road from the train station and it was only a few minutes stroll up the road and into the centre of town. I was able to walk to all the places I wanted to visit during my 2.5 day visit to Charleville using The Rocks as my base. The only disappointment was that the restuarant is not operating at present because of the problem with getting chefs and wait staff. It would be good for the management to make this clear on their website to avoid disappointment in guests.
