Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our last stop on a 2 week outback camping trip. We have been here a few times before and always like to stop here when in Charleville. It's far enough out of town to be away from it but close enough for a quick drive for supplies or to get a meal. Park has excellent camp kitchen and bar area setup with huge firepit. The amenities are always in excellent condition and very clean. There are walks you can do around the park and they have a big vege garden now.

This park is an absolute gem. Shirley, Craig and their staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Everything in the park is spotless, this is not a small thing in red dirt country. The 5pm damper and happy hour was so much fun. There is a bar that opens at 4pm but you are more than welcome to take your own drinks if you like. My husband loved an ice cold beer from the bar though. The sites are large and easy to get in and out of. I can’t say enough good things about this place and the people that run it.

This was our second stay at the beautiful Evening Star and once again has been the highlight of our trip. Shirley , Craige and Sarah along with the assistance of Shaun and Amanda who were lovely new additions to the Star family make the place a brilliant stop. Pristine amenities and great cold beverages At happy hour around the camp fire over a slice of fresh damper. Love it !!

What a great place run by genuine people. Shirley, Craig and Sarah showed us good country hospitality despite them having had a friend pass away on the first night of our stay. Charleville had had over 75mm of rain the previous day so grounds were a bit muddy however the bar area and camp kitchen provided a dry haven for us all during the storms with some interesting and fun conversations with our hosts. Enjoyed a great fire and damper the first night before the storm came which was delicious. The bar is good and very reasonably priced. Amenities are spotless and unisex, ensuite style. Sites are all drive through and HUGE! All in all, a fabulous park, with gorgeous tree’d grounds. There are a few walks you can do to the Woolshed and surrounds. Pet friendly too.

A little way out of twin but such a nice park. Large sites plenty of room. The amenities are scattered through the park feels like having your own ensuite. There is a campfire every night and damper. The owners are super helpful and friendly. We really recommend this park.

Stayed for 2 nights and wished it had been a lot longer. The park is spotless and the sites are large and secluded. Shirley and Craig treat you like long time friends and never stop working around the park. Be sure to attend the Happy Hour and enjoy Craig's hospitality and the damper. Also a must in this park is the "Star Gazing" what a wonderful night topped off with hot chocolate and biscuits.

This park is well worth the stay. If you are interested in birdwatching you won’t be disappointed. We saw lots of honeyeaters around our campsite and other birds beyond. We enjoyed the Star Gazing experience, campfire and damper each evening. Also some excellent entertainment. Craig and Shirley are great hosts and made us feel at home during our stay. The facilities were great

Queensland hospitality at its best! Drive through powered sites separated by native vegetation. Clean bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Happy hour around the camp fire 4:30-6pm - well stocked bar selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Freshly made damper, dripping with butter and golden syrup is served around the camp fire. Watch Craig (the resident pyromaniac) pile on the gidgee wood for a truly spectacular fire! Native trees and bushes abound - we were lucky to see the property green, lush and flowering. Took my Border Collie for walks. Star gazing possible (extra cost). Wifi dodgy but is at its best at the office. Shirley will book you in and personally escort you to your site. Highly recommended.
