The Buderim Fiesta Motel offers a peaceful and attractive alternative to coastal strip accommodation. It is centrally located on the Sunshine Coast and within easy reach of both coastal and hinterland attractions. Mooloolaba Beach is only minutes away, yet the Fiesta Motel feels like it is a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. Fiesta is a modest family run country style small motel. It is set in the heart of the Tanawha valley 5 minutes drive to Buderim CBD, Chancellor Park and the Sunshine Coast University, and it is easily accessible from the Bruce Highway. Although an older style building rooms have recently been refurbished and modernised and they are clean and comfortable.

The photos of the property are very "creative" to make it look better than it is. The room was clean except for the drapes which were dirty and wouldn't close properly. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard. We stayed on Saturday and Sunday night and chose the "better" of rooms available but the cost was a bit steep for what we got.

When booking a room please look for the room type…Queen, Boho,Treble, Small 15sq, Private suite. Extensive photos are in each selection and clearly show the room size and layout. You booked the treble room not the Luxury Boho. Prices are inline with demand and I am always full every night.

Would definitely recommend this lovely accommodation, very clean, spacious and well equipped. Extremely comfortable bed and lounge chairs. My little dog enjoyed the expansive garden and I enjoyed the rotunda and pool.
Friendly service topped off a great stay.

Extremely disappointed. The owner Brett should be ashamed for ripping off people in a state of emergency.
We booked a room for this weekend, unfortunately we could not make it due to the state wide flood emergency. My grandmother called to let the business know that it would be unsafe for us to drive this morning and that we wouldn’t be able to make it due to road closures. She asked if we would be able to transfer the credit to next weekend to which the presumed owner was incredibly rude, refusing a credit and told her he has a business to run. Any other circumstances and this would be understandable as we respect business policy, however in a state of emergency, the Australian Consumer Law under Travel and Accommodation states

Cancellation because of a natural disaster or other crisis – frustration of contract

A crisis such as a bushfire or flood may lead some guests to postpone or cancel their visit. Your rights and obligations will depend on the situation.
You are both released from the contract if, for example:
> the accommodation has been destroyed
> access roads have been closed, or
> the authorities have advised that the area is not safe to enter.

We were told that the policy would not be changing and to “get a lawyer”. We were so disappointed in such unprofessionalism as well as the poor treatment of potential returning customers. Unfortunately we are forced to take this further.

Cancellation policies are clearly laid out on all of my online booking platforms. Cancelling on the day of check in is not an option at any motel I imagine.

We recently booked in to Buderim Fiesta Motel for 2 nights so we could attend the Sunshine Coast Chamber Music Festival.

First impressions: pothole in parking area near our unit, roll-your-own cigarette butt on the ground nearby, smeary-looking windows.

Second impressions: just one dessert spoon in drawer, just 1.5 toilet rolls in bathroom, just 2 pillows (so none for reading) and 2 towels, no bath mat, no hand towels, no face washers, shabby curtains (falling off rail, hem undone, looked like they'd been mopped with dirty water), broken door on wardrobe, kitchen light not working, bar frig totally frosted up so little could be stored in freezer compartment.

A chat with reception gained an extra spoon and one more pillow. (I'd brought my own pillow.)

A request to defrost frig met with stern refusal. No spare frig available, not even a fan so I could defrost it myself!

Worst of all, when I remarked that this wasn't very good, the manager (or whoever he was) said, "You'll just have to make do with what you've got."

Strangely, a NEW frig arrived next day, as did a bathmat. I asked for hand towel and face washers, but was refused.

No apologies were given for this appalling, inexcusable lack of service. No sweeteners were offered.

I suspect they are selling this business and have said goodbye to it. Or want to drive the sale price down for some reason.

No milk provided. Dead insects throughout the unit. Bathroom tiles grubby and the hair and cockroaches hadn’t been removed.
A surcharge would have been applied if the washing up wasn’t done but no cloths or tea towels provided.Wardrobe door stuck on hanging side.
Owner was very rude next day when these things were brought to his notice pointing to his door saying you could have knocked.
Fair enough but when told we had paid less for better accomodation he insulted my wife.
Not a nice person, should not be in the business if treating guests this way.

Disappointing. Looks better in the photos than it is. Bathroom floor sopping wet with an overpowering smell of bleach on arrival. Room needed a good vacuum and dusting. Best I can say is the bed was comfy enough and fluffy white towels were nice but we wouldn’t stay here again.

What can one say when you wake up at 3am in the morning with bed bugs on your pillow, and in the bed and blood spots everywhere.
I killed about a dozen of these, and even kept one that was dead, but thankfully hadn't gorged its self on my blood so didn't explode when I hit it.
When I ran into the owner on my way out to load my car, his reply was "well no one else has ever complained" Was he accusing me of bringing them?

I have stayed in hotels in MANY countries, and this is THE FIRST TIME I have ever encountered bed bugs.

To make matters worse, the rooms are terrible very 1960's motor inn with no effort to modernise at all.
Bathroom had mould on the ceiling.
Breathing can even be heard between the rooms, good sleep quality, no way.
No food, no room service, no breakfast, nothing, and your in the middle of nowhere.

No help as I stood in reception and rang the bell three times with no reply.

I cant understand why people go hear at all.

My mistake as I selected this place as it had the highest trip advisor rating for anything in Buderim. I would hate to see the bad ones!

Do yourself a favour, and stay anywhere else.

Firstly, we are extremely sorry for your terrible time with us and secondly, thank you so much for alerting us to the problems you encountered. We were just as shocked and upset to learn of the bugs as you were, as we had only just moved in and were still under training from the old owners. A specialist pest management team were immediately bought in, the contents removed the room shut down, sanitised and treated as was the whole motel including the residence as a saftey precaution. We are proud to say our motel has reopened, is sparkling clean, without a free loader in site.To ensure this never ever happens again, the team are revisiting regularly. Renovations to our quaint piece of paradise have begun and we are very excited to aim for 5 star quality at 3 star prices. The commercial kitchen license is being applied for. Eateries nearby: 2.3km Sth to Chancellor Park Plaza. 3.9km Nth to Kunara Organic Market Place. Excellent for healthy breakfasts. 4.3km to visit the quaint town of Buderim with a plethora of eateries and excellent shopping awaits. A new loud bell has been installed. We understand if you do not want to return, but if you could find it in your heart to give us a second chance, you will have no regrets.

The managers were helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. Only towels provided, no face washers. Would have liked a handbasin in the bathroom, instead of having to wash hands, clean teeth and dishes in the kitchen sink. Grounds were beautifully kept and the gazebo/BBQ area an ideal place for breakfast or other meals - had a lovely cool breeze for summer. Would be cool in winter months and a sun area would be ideal. The budgies may be noisy if you are that end of the motel, but we did not hear them even with the window open. The laundry had a washing machine and basin, but the room is used as a storage area for the budgie products and we would have liked a separate laundry area for guests. There is a clothes line. We did not use the swimming pool (as we are non swimmers) but it looked clean. There is a service station next door which has some grocery products, which we found handy. We will definately stay there again.

Pros... If your looking for all the mod cons this isn't for you but it is very clean, has comfy beds and a hot shower. Close to shops and all of the sunny coast. Perfect for traveling out each day & using it as a base. Everything is just a short drive away. Service was impeccable, very helpful.
Cons... the budgies! Way too close to the rooms., they wake you up early every day. Having to share a laundry with all the budgie mess and contraptions, not pleasant.
No where to sit comfortably to catch the winter sun. Chairs outside room are uncomfortable and there's very little room anyway. Pool & BBQ area would be great in summer with all the shade but not during winter.
Get rid of the budgies and put a guest area for sunning, reading, relaxing, etc. Would be perfect.

Hello, could you be more specific as I am unsure of what new cultural centre you are referring to. If the "Buderim College" you are referring to Matthew Flinders College it is about 8mins drive, Immanuel Lutheran College is about 10-15 minutes.Sunshine Coast University is 5 minutes drive away. The central CBD of Buderim is 5 minutes drive. I hope this helps, please feel free to contact us for further information, kind regards, Matt
