Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff who was at reception was very friendly and helpful, as well as other grounds staff.
We were only staying a night and as no drive through sites at the park , she suggested we park accross 2 sites so we didn't need to unhook the van.
We had a lovely large site.
The sites all have ensuites .
There is a huge amount of workers who stay at this park , and they are all very quiet.
The first couple of rows they use for travellers.
The pool is lovely and very clean
Very clean and would definitely stay again.

Only an overnight stop but was really impressed. Spacious powered site with ensuite (which I didn't expect) which was virtually brand new and spotless. The park is mainly a workers park with plenty of donga style accommodation but the limited number of sites are excellent. About 2 km walk to town which is much bigger than I expected.
Definitely recommend.

We had our own caravan and stayed 2 nights. It was more like a miners camp to be honest.
The amenities were clean and acceptable but very dated.
We didn't use the pool as it didn't look very inviting.
Probably won't stay there again but the staff in reception were very nice

More of a workers camp than holiday or tourist park. The majority of the park is taken over by them. The photo in the picture is their canteen (not for anyone else) a huge workers laundry which you are allowed to use at no extra charge. Most of the tourist sites are ensuite which look fairly new, nice & spacious and immaculate. No amenities block. A nice big camp kitchen with big tv and plenty of tables & chairs etc hidden behind the workers canteen next to a small pool. No grassed areas or children’s playground. Office very small with no essential food or drinks to purchase. Staff very nice and helpful. Ideal overnight stop but I wouldn’t recommend staying any longer

What a great park this is.The staff are very friendly, polite & extremely helpful from when you contact them & once you have arrived & booked in.It was a lovely surprise when we arrived as to what the park is like. All sites are with ensuite & are beautiful. The sites are big, slab with grass & lot's of room.Lovely swimming pool with coverd area, camp kitchen has all you need.Lovely Cabins to choose from & other accommodation. The park is very quiet of a night so you get a good nights sleep. Close to shopping center & town center.Their is a good lot of shops, cafe's & supermarkets here.
{The Callide Lookout has great views from it over the area.}Highly recommend.

A very good caravan park with the added bonus of a dining hall on site. Very helpful staff willing to assist. Only issue was lack of dump point facility, which all parks should have. TV reception not very good, but this is a location issue, not so much the CP’s fault.

we were going to stop overnight on our way to Cania Gorge & ended up staying 3 !!! There was so much to see & do in the area.
Ensuites for every van site which were clean & tidy (decor a bit 70's) & a TV cable. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We were invited to share the $20.00 buffet in the restaurant & it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The chef cooked me a steak & then invited us to tuck in to the buffet which included roast meats, pork chops ,beautiful vegetables & fruit pie & custard. My husband could not resist the ice cream cones with many flavours to choose from. The pool was well kept & a welcome relief from the heat. The working men staying there were courteous. I would certainly stay there again & recommend that anyone travelling that way consider a stopover.

Stayed one night. We were happy to find our powered site had its own ensuite bathroom & a TV cable for our use. Its fairly basic & a little dated but who cares. It's a bonus we have not seen in our travels yet. The park owners were obliging & friendly. We also really enjoyed the $15 buffet style BBQ put on by the park. The park was not crowded. Most of the other tenants were local workers. Would recommend.

we stayed in a basic cabin on our way through from melbourne to townsville. Only $80 for the night, full fridge, everything you need in a kitchen, including hot plates! We got in late and the office was closed so I asked staff in the dining hall (food smelt delicious!) And the key, receipt and directions to our cabin were all there :) love this place :)

A good spot to visit. An interesting display of memorabilia of days now gone by. Also a really good spot to camp for a day at an affordable rate. The town is of interest too, and the locals make you feel welcome, especially if you are spending some money.
