Detailed Reviews
Beautifully restored in art deco style. This amazing gem welcomed us with hues of green, aqua, and teal and emanates a sense of tranquility charm and peace. The main lounge area bespokes a pastel coloured soft comfy U shaped lounge with bright coloured comfy cushions. , Wooden floors, a grand piano and soft lighting via table lamps and overhead complete this picturesque setting . All the walls on all 3 levels are decorated with bright coloured original paintings . Our bed was comfy , our bathroom extremely clean and bright and pastel coloured blockout drapes could be drawn if we wanted to sleep in.! We set the aircon at 22 C as suggested and closed the windows at night - no moisture anywhere despite being the wettest town in QLD. They have an assortment of REAL coffee in the kitchen - plunger or nespresso machine ( aka not instant😝) and coffee bags and an assortment of teas in each room ! Gary the manager/ caretaker was bright happy to lend a hand and very knowledgeable about what to do and see and the history of this amazing place . Yep there is a kitchen and several verandah areas where you can eat or simply relax and read one of the hundreds of books to swap or keep. If the rain is too heavy to venture to nearby Babinda Boulders or Josephine Falls just staying here and relaxing is a holiday in itself We thoroughly loved staying here and will come back again. It is an experience and the perfect end to our mini holiday. A bit of luxury for a very reasonable price .

The Quarters have been lovingly and beautifully refurbished and decorated, the result being luxury/boutique style accommodation for an incredibly reasonable price. The rooms are well equipped, spotless and so pretty, with a gorgeous little area out back to relax and watch the forest and wildlife while you have a cuppa. The gardens are well maintained and beautiful and we could've spent hours admiring the art works in the building. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. I wish we'd booked another night! The Quarters are only a short walk from town. Maybe 2 mins to the cafe and 3 or 4 to the pub. We had a great sleep - the building was very quiet.

The Quarters was a beautiful old historic building with picturesque lush tropical gardens surrounding the property. It is also conveniently located just a 1-minute walk onto the main street.
Garry the manager was kind and helpful, he provides you with back round knowledge about the history of the building and how it became the guest house it is today.
He has a variety of rooms to suit any and every budget, the package also comes with two communal kitchens and a great big common lounge with his desk and office right next door.

One of the most beautiful places I ever stayed at. Tastefully restored, there's warmth and beauty on arrival. Every room is a work of art with so much attention to detail. I will return as much as possible, although I'd actually like to move in! Thankyou Kim and staff for a very special stay.

Fabulous art deco accomodation. Lovingly restored and updated. Would recommend the stairs are a workout though. Great location and a great place to breathe out. Interesting art works and decor. Great spots to sit outside and admit the gardens and views

After booking 2 rooms for 5 people on line at the Babinda Quarters 2 and a half weeks before our reunion I received a phone call at 3.30pm the afternoon before check in to say they could not accommodate all of us. Now I understand over booking can happen but to tell me the afternoon before is unforgivable. The lovely small township of Babinda doesn't have a great deal of accommodation but after having booked on line with booking.com and receiving a confirmation email and pin then 2 and a half weeks later to be told oh no so sorry but....this was just unacceptable.

Essentially, this is the nurses and doctors residence from the local hospital, and without a huge amount of interior remodelling, it now operates as short and long term room rental. The owner is great fun (as is his bird), and the value is exceptional. If you need a one night stopover in this area, or a longer term place to stay, and you don't mind simple, this is the place. There is a lot to see in the area that most tourists drive past.

This is a quirky guesthouse which has been passionately restored by Steve and Don who also run it. It is next to the hospital and is the old nurse hospital quarters. It isn’t a hotel and it looked like the owners had a couple of their older single male friends living there. It is conveniently located to Babinda Boulders and Falls which we visited late afternoon and again in the morning. It is also close to the Cool Spot Café which is open to 8pm each night and the Babinda Bakery which is worth a visit for breakfast. Staying here made it really easy to visit the local attractions.
