Thin walls and soulless rooms. Small restaurant. Fairly surly staff. Lacks a lot of welcoming touches that make a business trip bearable. Nothing particularly wrong with it (although the thin walls make you feel like your sharing the room with your neighbour). Just could be better.

Went out to tea at Lily's Restaurant which is in the front of the Ayr Traveller's Motel, we weren't staying in the Motel. The atmosphere was very nice and the food was to die for, We had Oyster Kilpatrick's these were different to how I like them BUT they very tasty. two of us had the stuffed chicken it was...

I've been staying here a fair bit for work over the past couple of months and I've enjoyed it. The restaurant food is pretty good with very generous servings and the savoury mince in the morning is a wholesome start to the day. The rooms are clean and tidy, fairly well appointed and with decent sized showers. I've struggled from...

Glad you enjoyed your experiences at Lily's Restaurant. The savoury mince is a speciality of our breakfast cook. Have installed more repeaters to try and push wifi further down the hallways and into the rooms. Hopefully the NBN will improve this. When you are trying to retrieve your emails, why not sit on our front deck.

We stayed at Ayr Travellers Motel based upon the look. Aesthetically it is quite lovely, but you can actually hear people talking in the next room and you can also hear the television. Not good for a good nights sleep, nor for the simple fact that if you can hear them...they can hear you!

Thanks for your feedback. When you stay with us next time, please let us know that you would like a quiet room, towards the back of the motel.

We didn't finish our work in time to head back to Townsville for the night. So we asked our local guide where was the place to stay. Immediately came back Ayr Travellers Motel is where everyone stays. So we had our booking agent book us a night. Rocked up...checked in..and to the room. most rooms seem to be upstairs....and the...

The lower floor rooms are well sized and fitted out with modern decor and fittings. Reception was friendly, informative and reasonably effecient. The airconditioning (necessary in Ayr) is more than adequate once the settings are correct - it needed correction after the room was serviced. The breakfast was very well priced and the quality was average. The continental breakfast would...

While the overall first impression was good we were soon to be let down. The room was spacious and generally well appointed. The bathroom looked to be recently refurbished but it was all let down by the air-conditioning which just couldn't cope. The attached restaurant looked lovely but unfortunately wasn't open (even though it was Friday). Thankfully the staff pointed...

The motel refurbishment was completed prior to 2010. There is lots of lovely dining in the Burdekin, if we cannot accommodate you.

So unusual in a country town, to find an airy motel. We loved the wide corridors and good-sized room. The bathroom is the special part, though, large, with floor to ceiling opaque glass and lovely fittings. Ask for a room on the upper of the two floors, for extra light, but be aware that there isn't a lift!

the motel is an old squash courts, which explains the wide hallways. We think the motel is lovely modern design. We are happy to accommodate guests requests. A lift would be great, but we are in regional NQ.

We came to dive the Yongala and stayed for 2 nights after originally being booked at the Ayr Country Inn Motel. The Travelers Motel is bright, clean, spacious, and AIR CONDITIONED which other options are not. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room decor isn't great and the shower gets water on the tile, but relative to other options, this...
