Peaceful, relaxing and everything you could need. We stayed two nights and it wasn't long enough , at least another day for just lazing around would have been fantastic! A great base to see all the attractions in the district and then relax in the peace and quiet. A great private setting in a cozy cottage, we had the two...

We stayed at the Barking Owl early Dec and had a great time. This is a beautiful area perfect for getting away from it all and taking in the ' serenity ' . The cottages are absolutely spotless and perfectly organised with everything you need, even fishing gear is supplied and roomy enough for 2 adults and 2 children in...

Even before I actually got there, I believed I was I was going to like “Barking Owls Retreat” in the Atherton Tablelands. I was NOT disappointed. Tanya, the hostess and owner of this lovely, secluded B&B, was very attentive in finding out what would make us comfortable, before we ever left the US. I told her I was lactose intolerant...

We only stayed a night in the Dingo's lair but loved every minute of it. So...o...o relaxing and Tanya's attention to detail was superb with not a thing we were without.Fishing or just sitting on the deck watching the may birds or wildlife go by with a glass of champagne, who could ask for more.It would be perfect for a romantic...

The Dingo's lair lived up to its description. Very private, relaxing & peaceful. Very nicely presented and clean. Spa bath - Fantastic. Tanya and Chris gave a warm welcome and then left us in peace. Food hamper was great. Robin who is the contact for massages was also very good. Weekend went too fast.

Beautiful setting for a peaceful relaxing weekend with friends and family. We chose this accommodation due its proximity to LakeTinaroo; alas the weather was awful so no boating took place. It didn't matter as we enjoyed catching up on rest, the kids loved fishing at the dam and all managed to catch ( and return) fish. Adults sat under cover...

If you need a break from the rat race in a classic Aussie country setting this is the place. Friendly service and a spotless and tastefully presented cottage. The dogs escort you on the tour to the dam, which is nice. :). Would particularly suit the overseas visitor who wants a quick country experience an hour from Cairns.

Tanya and Chris were very welcoming and informative hosts for our 3 night stay in the Tablelands. The Dingo's lair cottage looks over a perfect view of rolling hills. Just sitting there having breakfast we saw so many birds: flycatchers, cockatoos, and at night, geckos and tiny frogs. The quiet and peace are a cure for jaded Sydney souls. The...

Having travelled cross-country and around Australia for three months with approx. 50 different accommodations, the Barking Owl was definitely one of the top end stays: Nicely located in the Atherton Tablelands, a beautiful cottage (one of two) providing a maximum of privacy, perfectly equipped with a separate kitchen, a nice canopied terrace with a Weber BBQ, great hospitality (if you...

I really enjoyed staying here as it was the peace and quiet I was looking for. We stayed in the farthest accommodation, and it was fantastic sitting out on the back veranda with an amazing view of nature and not a sliver of man-made noise or construction in sight. I plan to return as soon as possible.
