Detailed Reviews
This was a last minute find and what a treat. The ultimate in hospitality and luxury. From first contact on arrival its clear Charles and Adrian will do whatever they can to make your stay perfect. We had booked a spa cabin in the garden, with private balcony - it (and the main house) is stylishly furnished with every need considered. Our bed had a tempur matrass which we loved (firm but moulds to your body).
The evening wine/cheese/canape was sufficient for our evening meal as we choose to eat at mid day, so didn't need to use the personal chauffer service to local restaurants (of which there are many that look excellent). The breakfasts are out of this world - excellent choice and can be tailored if needed.
The location is great - right opposite the Hepburn Springs walking trail and easy to get to other walks and towns nearby. We especially loved the Blowhole, but everywhere is so tranquil and beautiful.
The hotel is small and service is impeccable. Thank you Charles and Adrian for being perfect hosts. The three days we stayed at The Dudley were just what we needed.

Charles and Adrian were such amazing hosts, and the property is immaculately clean and very inviting. We had one of the two spa retreat rooms separate from the hotel itself and it was extremely peaceful. The rooms were equipped with ample hanging space, a large clean modern bathroom with great lighting & also most importantly a super comfy bed & pillow menu. Charles cooked an amazing a La carte breakfast which was included in our package & Adrian’s service was superb. Charles also acted as our chauffeur in their Range Rover taking us to some local restaurants under their recommendation. Would definitely stay here again & recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Hepburn Springs/Daylesford area for a fully relaxing experience.

From the moment you are greeted at the front door you feel like you are home. Both Charles and Adrian are exceptional hosts and leave you wanting for nothing during your stay. We had the Locarno Spring king room and it was lush. Large bathroom with double claw foot bath. Separate dressing room with mirror. King 4-poster bed firm but comfortable and the room very quiet even though it is close to the library and lounge rooms. We were there when it was fully occupied and, apart from at breakfast, we didn't see any of the other occupants, nor hear them. Our hosts even try to stagger breakfast times so not everyone is there at the same time to make it feel more peaceful. The Dudley's location is within walking distance of the Hepburn Spa for a few hours of indulgence if that is what you are after and many varied walking tracks. Apart from that the venue offers a transfer service (for a very reasonable small fee) to and from local meal venues so you can relax and enjoy yourselves without the worry of driving back after an enjoyable meal. It would be remiss of me not to mention their breakfasts which are beyond expectations. They take most of your favourite breakfast ingredients and deliver them with a creative twist. The muffins and bread and butter pudding additions to your breakfast choices are to die for! I can honestly say that nothing about our stay at The Dudley disappointed us and our expectations were surpassed. Thank you Charles and Adrian for a lovely few days. We will recommend and be back ourselves as soon as we can. D&K

We have just returned from The Dudley after a wonderful two day stay. Charles and Adrian are consummate hosts, they are perfectionists with great flare and consideration for their guests. To begin with the hotel is absolutely spotless and the decor is dramatic but welcoming. The extra touches of wine and canapes before being chauffeured to dinner are carefully considered and delicious. The breakfast is amazing with beautiful selections in every category. We came with friends and have already planned our next visit.
We have never experienced this level of care and attention before and have travelled a great deal.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary here in December. What an excellent choice! Dudley Hotel is in a quiet location, our king studio spa suite beautifully furnished and equipped with a lovely large deck overlooking the rear garden. The entire hotel is exquisitely presented and no service or detail spared in looking after guests, and the included breakfasts simply superb. We loved the package inclusions: wine and canapés to enjoy during the afternoon and chauffeur service to and from our restaurants in the evening. Our hosts Charles and Adrian also helped us with restaurant recommendations and bookings. Thank you gents for your marvellous hospitality! We have recommended this lovely hotel to friends and family and will most certainly be back again.

Owner operators have done well with the decor. If you are artsy, you'd love this place. The bed & linens were comfortable and the rooms are well temperature conditioned. They've put in modern luxuries (i.e touch activated light on bathroom mirror, nespresso coffee/machine, smarttv). Toiletries/robe/slippers are all high quality. The only negatives for me are that I'm a very soft sleeper, so the sounds coming from the bar fridge was louder than my liking and the internet connection wasn't great.
They only serve breakfast at the restuarant and we didn't eat there, so can't comment on the food, but there are decent dining options available nearly as they are not to far from to Daylesford town centre (about 5km). They also can assist with delivery orders.
Overall a good experience and I would recommend staying there if it's within budget.

My wife and I have stayed at numerous boutique hotels around the world and this is one of the best. Charles and Dudley are clearly dedicated to setting an exceptional standard in every way. They really understand their craft and how to make guests feel very welcome. Beautiful presentation throughout with several delightful salons for relaxing and lots of interesting artwork, wonderful veranda and leafy outlook for afternoon tea and/or cocktails, delightful rooms with very comfortable beds and spotlessly clean, wonderful breakfast individually prepared, all located in the lovely village of Hepburn Springs. Couldn't be better!

Adrian and Charles have a vision of outstanding service and they achieve that and much more. All the guests rooms and gathering spaces are beautifully decorated with contemporary art and special pieces. Breakfast is a delight, Charles has an extensive menu available, but goes out of his way to accommodate special requests. Adrian and Charles offer the extra special touches that makes me return to this special haven. Pre dinner drinks and canapés, chauffeur service to dinner reservations, even reheating my take away dinner and serving it on china and silver platters. It’s their care and attention to detail that makes The Dudley truly bespoke and essentially a wonderful escape.

Sophistication at its best! The Dudley Boutique Hotel was simply amazing in every way. We were warmly greeted by Charles and given a tour of the hotel. The lounge and library were lovely spaces, however we didn't get the chance to enjoy during our stay.
We had a spa suite, which included a very comfy king bed, spa bathroom, gas log fire, and reverse split system (which was handy to warm the room before the log fire kicked in). There were robes and slippers available.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the canapes and wine delivered to our room each evening, about an hour before being chauffeur driven to our choice of local restaurant.
Breakfast .... I don't even know where to begin! Everything was fresh and delicious. I had the BEST French toast I have ever experienced!
The hotel is located directly opposite Hepburn Bath House, and next door to Hepburn Brewing Co, so great position. We did lots of walks over our few days.
All in all, Adrian and Charles are consummate hosts. They offered suggestions for local restaurants, art galleries, local sights, etc. We couldn't have asked for more.
Thankyou for having us. We will definitely be back for more R&R.

We had the most perfect winter weekend away for my husbands birthday thanks to Adrian and Charles at The Dudley.
This small Boutique hotel is so warm, welcoming and luxurious. I would go as far to say its one of the best hotel experiences that we have had in Australia in the 10 years that we have lived here.
The Getaway package was such a fabulous bonus which included the most delicious three course breakfast, delightful pre-dinner canapés, cheese and wine whilst relaxing in front of the open fire and then being driven to and from our chosen dinner venue in a luxury vehicle. It really was a 5 star experience!
We loved this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves to be made to feel special.
The location was also fabulous being just a short walk to the Hepburn Bathhouse and across the road from Hepburn Springs Reserve. It is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge.
