Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Pendower House. The location is fantastic, so close to everything, nice to be able to walk to the main streets of Daylesford. The breakfast was fantastic each morning and Renee was a wonderful host.

Booked on back of fantastic reviews and certainly agree with the reviews. Quaint cottage with top class service. Had the omelette with mushroom for breakfast and was in heaven. Highly recommend. Thanks Renee for looking after us.

It is rare that I walk into a hotel and I immediately feel at home, but this is what happened at Pendower House. To begin with, we were warmly welcomed by the loveliest hosts, Izy and Renee. These gorgeous ladies are genuinely happy to have you stay at their establishment, and as such, they ensure that every little detail is covered. The room was beautifully appointed with a super comfy bed, lots of pillows, great decor, water, lamps, little chocolates...everything you need and more! The shared lounge room just invites you in! With great soft tunes in the background, plenty of books and magazines and a couch by the window, where I enjoyed a nap in the sun...after a busy day at ChillOut. And if all this wasn't enough, oh my, Renee's breakfast! Yum! Freshly cooked omelettes, toast, crepes, bottomless coffee. I'm never staying anywhere else in Daylesford. I was actually sad when I hugged Izy and Renee goodbye. Can't wait to go during winter, I bet the fireplace will be superb then! Oh, and the best part is that Pendower House is literally two blocks away from the city centre, so we forgot about the car for the entire weekend.

We booked the spa apartment and it was totally delightful ... the hostesses Izzy and Renee were incredibly welcoming and friendly and brought us a lovely breakfast each day, crepes, poached pears, omelet etc. all beautifully presented. There was even a jar of lamingtons and a carafe of port and two glasses in the room. Some quirky classic DVDs provided us with evening entertainment, we could not have wished for anything more.

Hosts Renee and Izy made us feel most welcome at their charming B&B, ideally located only 5 minutes walk to the centre of town with its many cafes and restaurants, supermarket and speciality stores. They also dish up the most sensational breakfast you could wish for, without doubt the best in town. We stayed for 2 nights and wished it had been many more, although we were so relaxed that it felt like more. Pendower House is at the top of our favourites list. Thank you Renee and Izy.

The women who look after this place are divine - they are interesting, caring and knowledgeable. Nothing is too much trouble for them - and the breakfasts are scrumptious. This place is not the kind of place you visit if you want a modern kind of place where everything is in it's place and you can detect the faint smell of detergent and furniture polish. This place is a place where you feel very comfortable, like you are visiting old friends who are delighted to see you and happy to chat as much or as little as you want. We will be back.

Needing to recharge stressed minds & bodies in a cozy charming cottage of yesteryear located within walking distance from Daylesford Centre yet peaceful & quiet - this is it!!! There’s nothing more relaxing than to climb (almost needing a leg up) into a warm comfy Queen bed with 4 fluffy pillows & be caressed to sleep with the sound of rain playing on the roof on a cold winter night. My friend also had her own Queen bed ensuite room - more restful to have our own beds & space to chillax. After a nice hot shower to awaken the senses there’s nothing more inviting than hot crepes followed by customized cooked breakfast in front of a warm fire. It’s lovely to be able to make ourselves tea & coffee..... with the homely touch of lamingtons & a shot of Port. A homely stay..... also loved watching Renee’s two red hens enjoying our leftovers - they also know how to press a lever to access their feed .... smart girls!!! Thank you Renee for our comfortable 2 nights in your restful oasis ... batteries recharged to return to crazy living in Most Liveable City Melbourne!! A relaxing retreat.

My partner and I stayed at the Pendower House for our anniversary. We had a suite which was a bit of a crazy little rabbit warren but which was also cozy and warm and a lovely place to spend the evening. The first order of business was filling out the "order" for what we would like for breakfast the next day. One look at the options and I knew I was going to really enjoy my stay. We had the entire house to ourselves but ended up bringing in a wine and cheese picnic from some of the local wine and cheese shops (mmmmmm) and ate at our kitchenette in our suite. We awoke with the sun, to find a chook looking at us (sort of a little peeping Henny Penny) but because we were going to be eating some of her eggs, we figured it was a fair trade. The website listed a 4 course breakfast. I'm not exactly sure how that was calculated (there was coffee, cereal, juice, and a container with homemade lamingtons in the room) but what we ended up with was unbelievably good and filling. We chose to have it delivered to our room though there was also a dining area which was quite lovely. The first course (or 3rd, depending upon how things were counted) was a sweet pancake or crepe (depending on where you are from) that was just perfect. It also was big enough that it could have been a stand-alone breakfast. The second course (or 4th) was delicious toast, bacon and Henny Penny's fabulous eggs, cooked to order. I have not adequately described how delicious this food was, but it was seriously one of the tastiest breakfasts I have ever had. We will definitely stay again in the future!

Thank you Shari and i will pass on your lovely chook comments to the girls. They are very cheeky and will often watch through the window, just seeing what her 'human' friends are doing.... Glad you enjoyed your breakfast and time in Pendower as well as Daylesford. Next time come during the week and join in the yoga classes. Thanks again Renee
