Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Daylesford Central Motor Inn. Yvonne at Reception was very kind in allowing us to book in early, as we had a function to attend. The room was super clean and the bed very comfortable. Thank you Yvonne!

The first positive about this motel is its central location. You can walk from the motel to the main area of Daylesford within minutes. Upon arrival, the customer service was friendly and helpful. Our room was one with a spa, a microwave, small kitchenette, a very comfortable bed, a couch, really beautiful towels…….it was in many ways an old fashioned country motel, but it’s done well. A previous guest had forgotten to log out of their Netflix, so we got to watch that too! We were stunned that you could order a continental breakfast, delivered to your room, for $10 a person. Probably the cheapest breakfast in all of Daylesford and we now regret not ordering it. The only thing that we found uncomfortable was that outside each room was a table with 2 chairs, and each table had an ashtray on it. The people in the room next to us were very heavy smokers and the smell of the smoke was seeping into our room, both throughout the night and in the early morning too. Our request to the motel would be to ban smoking outside of rooms and make a smoking area outside somewhere, maybe in a gazebo away from the rooms. The other major plus for this venue is that you can book for one night. So many accomodation facilities in the Daylesford area have a 2 night minimum to stay, so to find one that had a 1 night option is a huge plus. We will definitely return to this motel and we will make sure we order the breakfast next time!

Room Tip: Maybe ask if there are rooms that don’t allow smoking outside the motel room door.

Stayed in Room 9. A little cottage. Not modern, but very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Quiet , not on main road. Host was lovely. The only negative is the address and room number on the key ring not good security.. maybe a return to address if lost, but leave off the room number. Would stay here again.

Very small, difficult for two people to move around simultaneously. Carpet dirty and old, mildew in the shower, very little room to store luggage, shower water temperature difficult to set, and changed from cool to scalding on my back in a split second.

My friend and I stayed here last weekend. We had a twin disabled room. So well set up, wide doorways, wet room style shower, assistance bars, and a seat in the shower. All the things that enable a disabled person and any carers required to cope with necessary tasks. There was ramp access and a rubber mat to assist with change of levels at the doorway. The lady who welcomed us (yes, a genuine welcome not just a booking in) was so lovely. My friend admired their beautiful Daphne bush and shortly after the lady arrived at our door with some in a vase. So special. Thank you so much for our great break in a very clean room and everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this motel and will certainly be back again.

Daylesford is a very popular tourist town and accommodation sometimes can be difficult and expensive to get during peak season. This motel is walking distance from the main shopping street in Daylesford and is well maintained and looked after. The room was an Atco style accommodation which was quite comfortable and warm, furnishings were adequate. The shower was quite small as was the room as a whole. Once you brought in your luggage you had to squeeze past it to navigate the room. Parking is next to the unit but rather tight and care has to be taken. The tariff charged for this room was quite fair for the accommodation that was on offer. If I was in town I would happily stay there again.

Well we did some research into what was available around Daylesford in terms of an overnight room in this location for we had a family members 80th Birthday and decided that we my wife and I would leave on the Friday after work and be fresh for the function the next day. So Sunday the 13th the week before the event I called the venue and I found that Daylesford Central Motor Inn had a King Deluxe Suite for $195.00 per night or a Superior Queen Bed Room for $164.00 so I said that i would book the King Deluxe room and could they please offer some places that could assist in catering. I emailed the next day and requested that if we book additional night could we have it at a reduced rate they replied that if we wanted a cheaper room then the Superior Queen Bed Room was a better option and no room was available for the following night. So I replied that we would stay with our first option and could they please confirm our booking. On Monday I emailed and asked for confirmation of our booking... It never came. I assumed that at least we had a booking. I called on Friday evening as I said that I would to say that we were on our way from outer East of melbourne and we will arrive late the person who answered the phone said oh sorry I did not check emails and yes i see it is the Queen room.. When we arrived at the venue we found that the Superior Queen Room was no more than a cabin type room with very little room around the bed and very very basic facilities. So lesson learnt and questions asked what makes a room Superior and you can make a photo look so much better than it really is. Side note to this is my wife and I left her medi pillow behind and remember that the person booking us in knew that we were going to be in town at the family function did not contact us to let us know of our mistake so by the time we got home and discovered our mistake and called them they said oh wait I will go and look. When he called back he said oh yes i have found it I will post it back to you at your cost. Lesson please look for reviews.
