Centrally located near Daylesford's heart, Central Springs Inn receives consistent praise for its proximity to local attractions, with guests appreciating the short walks to shops and historic sites. The service at this hotel earns accolades for the staff's warm and attentive approach. While the amenities, including the comfortable beds and heritage charm, are well-regarded, some guests feel that room updates could further improve the value proposition.
The rooms' cleanliness and size are also highlighted, though a few point out dated decor and occasional odors. The hotel's ambiance, characterized by a cozy heritage atmosphere, is frequently celebrated by visitors.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed for 4 nights in the heritage king fireplace room in December 2024. This motel is perfectly situated, minutes walk to everything Daylesford has to offer. The room was very nicely proportioned with high ceilings and period features. The bed was comfortable and made for a good night's sleep, it was nice to have a proper king bed and not 2 singles pushed together!
During our stay the weather was very pleasant so we did not require use of the fireplace, nor the fan or split system heating/ cooling, however there was firewood available in our room should we want it (which would be replenished daily). There was a bar fridge and kettle in the room with tea and coffee provided, and breakfast was available at an extra cost although we didn't take this option up.
Overall we had a lovely stay here and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting Daylesford.

Staff are friendly, we were to be late for check in and they made it easy for us to settle in once we arrived (thank you Heather!)
Housekeeping looked after us as well. Spare towels, spare pillows (firm or soft), the bed was relatively firm, linen and bedding of high quality, the coffee sachets in room are Moccona (great choice).
Shower had great water pressure and spread. The hot water was HOT.
Lovely heritage features, a deck to sit on and enjoy the endless serenity.

We were delighted by the wonderful old fashioned personal service provided by the welcoming staff at the Inn, from check in until departure. The historic buildings and out-door seating areas created a comfortable environment for a lovely stay. The option for breakfast in the dining room and location within easy walking distance of the town centre were added bonuses.

The resort is definitely not a 4.5 star its more of a 2-3 star the most. Cleaning was not done on a daily basis, sheets were not changed during the days that we were there and when we asked about it, we were told that cleaning services are done only between 9 am to 11am and if we left the room after this time, the room would not be cleaned. Tbh this is a bit ridiculous, especially with the rates we were paying at $250 a night. The furnishing and bathroom facilities are very old and dated. Not worth the amount paid.

Thank you for the feedback - please note we are a motel so if you were expecting a "resort" you perhaps need to look elsewhere. Our rooms are serviced daily by our professional staff who work in the mornings. If guests do not allow access during these hours then unfortunately the room will not be serviced that day. You booked a room in our Heritage building aptly named because it is Heritage listed and has all the charm of a building built in the 1800's. If you prefer a more modern room please book an Executive or Deluxe room on your next visit.

What a lovely place to stay. The managers there are friendly and helpful giving suggestions on what to see in the area. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The cooked breakfast was delicious in the morning and was good value. Great location was a nice walk down the street to the shops and there was plenty of parking. Local shops are great lots of choices for eating and drinking. Easy drive to the local attractions as well. Will definitely be back to stay again.

We we put into a room which STANK of dank sust and dirt, the air was so contaminated that we had difficulty breathing. The chairs were FITHY with what appeared to be fecal matter. On advising management of the serious problems with the room, we were told, "You did book the cheapest and smallest room" ???
We were offered an alternate room after considerable discussion. The second room was less odourous, but after about 20 minutes in the room, breathing became difficult.
The smell in the rooms was disgusting as if nothing had been cleaned in years

I enjoy staying at Central Springs Inn, I stay in room 3 because I have some mobility issues. The only thing that really needs looking at is the bathroom floor as it is VERY slippery.
There are somethings that could make our stay better having access to a rubber mat for the bathroom. Also having the tea/coffee etc out on the bench before we arrive would make our stay easier. Thank you Melissa and Michael. Philomena & Rob

Central Springs Inn is very well located. I went to Daylesford for their Aroura Borealis recreation on Lake Daylesford and there was a shuttle bus stop right outside my accommodation. The room I had was a good size with a queen size bed and a single bed as well. The bed was firm but comfortable. The wifi worked well. It is a short walk to the shops and main street as well to the Convent Gallery and Sunday Market. Breakfast is available on site and was good value at $15 for a Continental Breakfast. I would recommend a stay here and will do so again when returning to Daylesford.

Lovely spacious family room. All very clean. Simple check in process. Huge TV plus another smaller one in the mezzanine level, very unexpected for a hotel. Very friendly and kind staff, went out of their way to help us with a lost item. Also when we arrived it was a very hot day and it was so delightful to check into a pre-cooled-AC room. The location is pretty unbeatable, we could walk to everything.
My daughter was very impressed with the complimentary cookies! Would 100% recommend and would stay again.

A beautiful weekend despite the cold, raining weather. Our fireplace room was warm and toasty. Michael and Melissa were great hosts along with cooking a great hot breakfast each morning as well as recommending the best restaurant's to eat at and things to see. Rubens had the best risotto and dessert of mini donuts with ice-cream. Jacquie's on Vincent was the best Asian food we have had in a long time. Dumplings were so tasty. The Daylesford market on Sunday morning was a bit chilly, however, tasting the warm spiced apply cider was a bonus for which we purchased 2 bottles to take home.
The bed at Central Springs was very comfy. Tea, coffee and cookies was nice to have each might night. Opening the cupboard to wine glasses was even better as we bought wine from Winespeake Cellar and Deli so was nice to have when back in our room.
