A lovely lunch but were only allowed to select one meat, unlike most places where you can ask for 2 different types. Food was good but I thought quite pricey for a sunday roast approx £18.00. Service was ok but it was fathers day so was probably busier than usual.

Thank-you for your review, you’re quite right that Father’s Day last year was a busy day – although most Sundays are here at The Angel! Just as a little point of clarification, the £18.95 option on Father’s Day last year was actually for three courses, which we thought was actually great value! Hopefully we’ll see you again this year! The...

Very helpful and welcoming staff at this professionally run place. Excellent access just off the northbound road to Teesside (and back South) Car Park lined out with big spaces for local farmers parking style ;-) Room had a HUGE bed, nice fittings and a proper deep bath (with shower). Lovely! Separate, well furnished resident's lounge which was nice to see....

This is a very comfortable hotel and is a good base for visiting both the Yorkshire moors and the Dales. The staff were friendly and the facilities were up to our expectations. We had a West-facing room and benefitted from a window which looked out over a lovely sunset. The restaurant offers a good range of meals at reasonable prices....

Decided to visit friends in Thirsk and made a great choice to stay here for 2 nights (13-14th Jan). Lovely bar/lounge/dining room areas offering plenty of comfort and warmth. We were both pleased with the cod loin evening meal as well as the cider on tap. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented/delivered. Will stay again and recommend to more friends.

Great little hotel, the staff are brilliant, really helpful, the food is fantastic, both in the restaurant and in the function suite, the room was spotless with a good selection of tea and coffee, and the 'beer garden' is amazing.

Easy to find and with a large car park arrival as no problem. The staff were on hand and showed us to the room which was certainly up to the standard I was expecting. Had a drink before getting ready for the meal and the hotel was beautifully decked out for Christmas. The food both for the evening meal and...

A one-night stay on the road that turned out to be a treat. Helpful staff on arrival and a warm, comfortable double-room (No 7) with a clean bathroom and luxurious towels promising a relaxing bath later. All the usual freebies were there with obvious extra care taken to present everything well. A log fire in the bar and comfortable wing...

We venture out every Sunday visiting places in our beloved Yorkshire, always trying to find a good country pub to stop for our lunch. We found the Angel this week and what a lovely place. Gorgeous interiors, brilliant background music, staff / service excellent and the meal was the business. We have eaten in a good number of places and...

On arrival we were booked in and shown the relevant areas of the hotel by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. As we hadn't stayed before he took us to our room making conversation all the way. Unfortunately we were taken to a room a long way from the stairs (I had asked for a room near as...
