We made The Poplars our headquarters for four days while rambling around Yorkshire. We couldn't have chosen a better location We were placed in one of the cottages with a kitchen and sitting room. We even visited the nearby Tesco and brought in groceries as a break from restaurant fare. The view of the horses at pasture from the windows...

I stayed here as I was attending an exam near by. The house is beautiful as was my room. It had it own entrance which I liked and the room itself was decorated tastefully. The bed was very comfy and the shower was nice and powerful. The breakfast was very tastey. Would definitely stay again if I ever need to...

A very warm welcome from Amanda and beautiful clean and comfortable room. With Amanda's recommendation we enjoyed a great evening meal at the nearby Kings Arms, Sand Hutton. And what a great end to our stay - a proper and fulfilling breakfast. Thank you Amanda.

Clean, comfortable, nice room with a good breakfast. Quite handy for Thirsk too.Would come again. No decent local eateries that we could see and in a commuter village. Our hosts were very accommodating as we were late arriving.

I stayed at The Poplars in mid September. The room was immaculate and the bathroom spotless. The owner is most welcoming and we had a nice chat over breakfast. The breakfast was perfect. I cannot recommend The Poplars highly enough. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.

Loved every minute! Stayed for one night and it was great, Amanda is a fantastic hostess! Felt like we had been away a week! Just what we needed! The room decor was tasteful & modern, power shower...amazing! Husband very happy to have a 'proper brew' (Yorkshire Teabags) not cheap ones!

Although we have traveled to Thirsk many times to visit family we have never stayed before at The Poplars. As we were passing through on our way South from a super holiday in North Yorkshire and Teasdale we decided to have a break before resuming our travels. We were recommended by family to try The Poplars so we did. We...
