This pub serves great ales and is quite pricey for the area, charging London prices. If you manage to get a seat, it is a great place to socialise. The food is expensive, especially the burgers at £16.95 but very tasty. Good place to stop for a drink after a long walks on the beach. Staff are very good and...

We have eaten numerous times and have enjoyed lovely meals but was very disappointed with the food and service of the barman in Boxing Day. Soup was watery and pretty tasteless, we ordered a gluten free sandwich toasted but the bread was rock hard and had no toasted colour to it, we had to send it back. The other sandwich...

I am very sorry to hear that you were left feeling so disappointed by your last visit to The Ship. It always frustrates and infuriates me on the rare occasions when I hear our food hasn't been prepared to the very high standard I expect, and equally so if I hear that one of my staff has not been as...

Really enjoyed the room and the ambience, the staff were helpful and friendly the room well appointed (although no mirror for drying hair at). We were made to feel very welcome in this old establishment that has been refurbished to a good standard. The food was oh so disappointing - tiny burger for £17 and sea bass served cold. Scrambled...

Thanks for taking the trouble to give me your feedback. I'm glad the staff, your room and the ambience met with your approval but likewise I'm truly sorry the food didn't. My staff and I always do our very best to ensure that our food is of the very highest quality and if I hear that it hasn't met with...

Coming in from the cold after a long journey to get there, we didn't just get a warm welcome from the fire burning away as you walk in, it was also from the staff. After a quick drink and lunch, which was delicious, we were shown to our room which was spotless and well laid out. After a rest and...

Had a couple of nights here, stayed in the largest room - room 9 in the roof of the building. We are both tall so had a couple of head bumps which were inevitable! Comfy big bed, look up and what a fantastic light! Loved the beams and dual aspect. Great double size shower and a deep roll top bath....

Every single member of the staff without exception was friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Fresh milk in a thermos in our room plus top quality tea and coffee and home-made flapjacks added a real touch of quality. Mattress and pillows excellent. Bathroom modern and efficient, great shower. The Inn is decorated in 'OKA' type furnishing throughout. Great...

Recently went here for tea and paid £15.95 for the smallest tart with nothing with it, after adding fries, one meal came to about £19!! Left feeling hungrier than when I arrived!! Service was also slow, however staff good with children.

I'm sorry to hear your visit failed to live up to expectations Clemmy. I pride myself on the high standard of food and service my hotels provide and on the few occasions I learn that we have not lived up to them it saddens me. I'm glad that my staff looked after your children at least. I hope you experience...
