I was lucky enough to have been bought a two night stay here for Mothers Day which myself and my husband used at the beginning of April . We met our son in Wirksworth to have a meal in a local restaurant and Tim made us all very welcome on arrival with tea and cake in the lounge . We...

Warm welcome from Tim on the 23rd March with a strong cuppa and cake, spent 2 nights in the solicitors room which was very cosy and comfortable and all the facilities you need with views towards black rock... The breakfast was 2nd to none , Tim provided local information which we benefitted from, quirky little character village, The old lock...

The property is very interesting and spotlessly clean. I can highly recommend the full English breakfast. We stayed in the Magistrates room and found it to be very quiet. The owner greeted us with a hot drink and a slice of cake. Very pleasant. I think the village of Wirksworth is well worth a visit. We stayed for 2 nights...

On arriving at the Lockup we had to park outside on the road which was a busy road as the car park across the road was full. When we knocked on the door the owner opened the door and showed us straight to our room, the room was okay it was a bit dull but comfortable. The chocolates were a...

It is always disappointing when guests are not fully satisfied with their stay. To clarify, on this occasion guests were offered tea or coffee which would have been accompanied by cake but the declined. I asked if they wanted to be shown straight to their room and they said they did. I also did say that they could park in...

Stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights and had a lovely weekend. We stayed in the Coachman's room which was really nice. Very old fashioned and traditional decor but this gave the room such a homely and cosy atmosphere, with adorable added touches. The full English breakfast that Tim made was honestly one of the best cooked breakfasts I've...

This was our 13th or 14th stay I think (I have lost count) and it was as great as each and every time before. The Old Lockup is a wonderful place to stay and I can't see a time where we stop visiting. My partner and I both work long, tiring hours and as soon as we walk in, we...

We felt very welcomed by Tim at the Old Lock Up. Fascinating building, beautifully decorated. We appreciated the open fire on a chilly January evening. Our breakfasts were super and Tim catered for our glutenfree and veggieness very well. We also made use of the jacuzzi - an extra bonus.

I had high hopes for this quirky B and B. It has an AA 5 star plaque on the outside but I have no idea when that was awarded certainly not recently. At £90 per night it isn't cheap but sadly I don't think it is anyway worth that. The room we stayed in 'the solicitors room' decor was tired,...

First of all I am very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay here, I take any criticism very seriously and if there are problems or dissatisfaction I would always encourage guests to let me know while they are here as it would give me the opportunity to put things right there and then. Room décor does tend to be a...

If you are looking for a friendly comfortable quirky place to stay then look no further than The Old Lock Up. We stayed in The Solicitors room which is a lovely spacious room with a good sized clean ensuite bathroom. The room was very quiet and the bed extremely comfortable and made for a very relaxing stay. The weather was...

Definitely stay here if you're visiting the area. Tim is a fabulous host, very welcoming (delicious cake and tea on arrival) and lovely to chat to. The Old Lockup is full of interesting police memorabilia and the Magistrates room where we stayed was a lovely room. The location of the B&B is excellent, very short walk to all the main...
