A warm welcome with tea and cake, much appreciated on arrival at The Old Lock Up. Comfy bedroom with a view to the hills, everything we needed and excellent breakfasts. Thank you Tim for making us so welcome.

Great location. Loved the room. Excellent breakfast. Made to feel very welcome. Never visited Wirksworth before but will be back to the Old Lockup soon, with friends this time. Some good watering holes nearby and lots of good walks around.

Arrived at The Old Lockup on a freezing cold evening and were warmly greeted and offered tea and cake in the lounge. Only complaint would be that the fire wasn't going and the room was very cold! We were shown to our room, the Magistrates Room, which has a lovely antique French bed, but sorry to say that the room...

Stayed at The Old Lockup for two nights with my wife. Excellent location in Wirksworth. Tim is a very sociable host. The ambiance of the property is wonderfully relaxing. Loved our room which was the solicitor's room. The room and indeed the whole property was clean and warm. Breakfast was very good - fantastic choice on offer and very well...

Mý husband and I do not buy each other 'things' for birthdays and Christmas, we prefer to eat it, drink it and travel to it... with this in mind my husband booked me (us) a 2 night stay at The Old Lock Up. What a lovely treat! We were welcomed by Tim with tea and coffee before a delicious 3...

We stayed at the old lockup as a mini break with our little yorkie (very pampered pooch) Toby bear. Stopping in the solicitors Room, we all loved it, it had so many original features and lots of memorabilia from its former life. Tim was welcoming, offering us tea and coffee and mince pies when we arrived and our meals were...

Lovely two night stay in this truly quirky B and B. Excellent location in the beautiful village of Wirksworth. Tim is a great host and a great cook. We ate both evenings on truly excellent food expertly cooked by Tim. Really great food and the home made bread just out of the world. Breakfast first class too. Adjoining micro brewery...

Having read the highly stated testimonials about the Breakfast from previous guests I decided to book at the old lock-up. The host is undoubtedly very friendly and my friend & I were welcomed with a cup of tea n cake which was very inviting after a rather long drive from london. After a short while we were shown to our...

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base to do some walking and exploring of the southern Peak District and we weren't disappointed. Lovely walks direct from the village. We stayed in the Magistrates room, which was extremely comfortable and the owner had gone to much effort to ensure everything you needed was available, including what was not needed...

Great location, near the centre of Wirksworth for good pubs and restaurants, lovely Peak District and Amber Valley walks nearby. Very friendly owner and good accommodation, especially liked the police station memorabilia and the micro-brewed beer.
