From the outside the Oldlock Up doesn't look much but stepping inside soon reveals a quirky interior steeped in history - within a few minutes Tim made us feel most welcome with tea and cake.He was a most convivial host and without being asked he took our luggage up a challenging staircase to the solicitor's room. It was clean, comfortable...

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Lock Up. Lovely welcome with a nice pot of tea and some home made cake. Very nice room, shower could be better and a proper door on the 'loo' would be better but it was ok. Excellent breakfast and we eat in one night and Tim really is a very good...

I stayed 4 nights in the Magistrates Room at The Old Lock Up over Easter. Nice place, very quirky and different, Tim is very friendly and makes a good full English. Tea and cake on arrival is a really nice touch. The room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage, although the TV is really tiny. The bathroom is...

Hi Patricia very sorry about the beer though I would point out the dates are best before and not use by. The product should be fine but if your colleague is in any way dissatisfied please let me know and I will do something about it. I'm sorry I didn't receive your message through the contact form, I would say...

My husband and I stayed her for a two night break. Lovely quiet and quirky guest house. Friendly host, excellent accommodation and very substantial breakfast, cooked freshly to order. Tastefully renovated from an old police station and magistrates house. All bedrooms with a different relevant theme. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area.

Stayed in Magistrates room, 2 nights. Very clean and comfortable. Thank you Tim for an excellent 3 course dinner and your fabulous breakfasts. Vinyl collection enormous and another thank you for allowing us to spin the turntable. An extremely enjoyable short break and brought back with us a selection of Tim's excellent brews. Highly recommend.

As clean and comfy as you could wish for with a hearty and tasty breakfast. Owner Tim cooks a very good dinner, brews a great pint esp. Black Maria and has a huge collection of 12inch vinyls he actually trusts his guests with. Remand us in custody here anytime.

Just returned from a short break in Wirksworth at the Old Lockup. The hotel is lovely very unique and really makes the most of its historical features and background. We were greeted with a cup of tea and a slice of cake before making our way to the Magistrates room. Tim could not do enough for us and his breakfasts...
