The rooms are fine and comfortable breakfast is good but be aware this now is a very noisy pub, the music on a Sunday continues to gone midnight and the noise from the bar and the people that have spilled outside to gone 1am. Its impossible to sleep before then even with ear plugs. If you are looking for a...

We booked a family room over Thurs-Sat of the Easter weekend for £92.50 a night (excl breakfast). The room was clean and well furnished (some mould and rattly fittings in the shower though). However, our room was right over the bar, so we expected some jovial bar banter Friday night being in a pub. What we got was horrible thumping...

Spent 3 nights at the George. Wendy and her family could not have been more welcoming. Food was excellent and competitively priced. I have seen the other reviews commenting on the noise, but The George is a pub, and trying to keep itself viable by offering the use of their function room. A great base for walking and dog friendly....

I travelled to Hayfield to see family and booked into the George. Upon checking in I was a little dubious at first. That all changed within minutes. The room was a little small but it's only me there so who cares. Down to the bar and greeted with such warmth. The beer was great and the food is so well...

The George Inn is under new management. Alan, Wendy and their daughters are superb hosts, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. At the moment they are working their way through the four bedrooms and renovating them. We were completely satisfied with our room (the one in the main photo), not a huge room and bathroom but...

Visited the george on the 16th of December upon hearing that it was under new management. When we first entered we were upset that Stella was no longer on the bar however it had replaced with Morertti! The selection of beers and spirits was good and now the selection of food compliments it with a wide selection of good cheap...

Called for lunch whilst waiting for our other friends. Service was very good, food very good, only problem was that oven broke whilst we there so no one else could have food. Location central within the village. Lovely surroundings would definitely go back

We had a 3 night stay here October 2016 room 4 I think, lovely big room and huge bathroom. Bed comfortable and nice linen and towels. Breakfast was lovely and had a meal here one evening which was lovely too. Also ate at other pubs in the village which were very nice. A lovely village, church next door was lovely,...

Stopped for an evening meal here while on holiday, the pub was very busy but we did manage to find a small table. The food was good so no complaints but we did feel a little uncomfortable within that environment, not sure why. Would eat here again but it would not be our first choice.
