We looked for accommodation in reasonable travel distance of the NEC for our family of 4 and were delighted with this find. 35 minutes NE of the NEC and just off the main transport routes, it was perfect for us. We stayed in a private 4 bed (2 x 2 bunk bed) room with our own bathroom. The room had...

Thanks for the review and fantastic to hear you had such a good time. I hope that the disappointment of Conker's Bonfire event won't stop you coming back to visit us - I do recommend you visit them during the normal day, they have lots of fantastic things for families to do, especially during the school holidays. Hope to welcome...

Stayed here over half term with my teenage family of 4. The rooms were clean and adequate. The lounge / dining / bar area was very open plan and spacious with plenty of room for everyone, it had a friendly feel to it. Easy parking and right on top of a great network of foot / cycle paths. This is...

This large, two-floor, modern Youth Hostel is in the village of Moira and not in Swadlincote. It is close to the village but rather quiet and isolated. The hostel has a lot of free parking within its grounds and there are a lot of places to walk and a few local towns to visit. It has a large common room...

Our family (21 of us) stayed at the National forest Hostel for a weekend and we all from the youngest (6 mths) to the oldest (76) had a wonderful time. The staff could not have been more helpful and the hostel was really user friendly. The food was great and the coffee excellent. The children all enjoyed their free trip...

Dirty rooms (breadcrumbs on shelves and on linen). Under staffed. Limited menu and food service. Kitchen facilities small for the size of the hostel and dirty. Some of the staff's manner not professional, treating people like children when serving food and unhappy to swap peas for beans? Even though these were available....so disappointing compared to other Yha's

I'm sorry that your stay with us wasn't up to scratch compared to other YHA's in our network. I've spoken to the team regarding the housekeeping of rooms and kitchen facilities and I hope this stay hasn't deterred you from staying with YHA again.

Clean accommodation with nice, friendly staff. One specific member of staff was superb and went out of her way to meet our needs. For example for an adult paying guest to conkers the YHA can secure a free child pass for one child, this is not advertised, but she made aware when I said I was going there. Very suitable...

This YHA is an absolute gem of a place. The setting is so beautiful and could not ask for a better place. The staff are as friendly as can be expected, where helpful, kind, and considerate.
