Handel's Muse is a deliciously cosy love-nest, with all creature comforts situated in wonderfully peaceful countryside. We enjoyed two amazing weeks exploring Derbyshire: much assisted by our hosts. The breadth and depth of their knowledge in respect to local beauty spots, history, geology, pubs & Tea rooms was first class. It really elevates self-catering to a different level.

Had a wonderful two week stay at Gorsey Hayes, the cottage was perfect from the setting to the tasteful decoration. Jan and her daughter were the perfect hostes, will definitely stay again.

Handel's Muse is a delightful place to stay and a great base for a self-catering (or B&B), walking holiday. It is more spacious than the photos suggest, spotlessly clean and full of homely touches. We loved sitting outside on the patio watching the birds and listening to the buzzards flying overhead. The owner and her daughter couldn't have done any...

We stayed in the B&B in the Farmhouse. The whole house and the bedroom and bathroom, have been rebuilt/modernised and furnished to the highest standard, and the owners obvious attention to detail continues through into the quality and warmth of the welcome and the way they look after their guests. Brekfasts are healthy with a variety to suit every palate....

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Oldfields Farm. We stayed in Gorsey Hayes which is a beautifully restored barn. The place itself was immaculate with alot of thought given to the interior and finishing touches. It was very well equipped everything is there that you would need for a self catering holiday. Personally we did not cook...

We are four friends who meet once a year and this has to be one of our best trips by far thanks to the kindness of Jan and Glyn. We stayed at Gorsey Hayes cottage for 3 nights - the accommodation was beautiful, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. On arrival, we were treated to homemade scones and jam and our...

We don't really want to share this fantastic secret with everyone but then again it would be unfair not to shout about such a hidden gem! We found this place on the internet and took a chance for some exploring over half term. On our arrival we were warmly greeted by Jan and shown around our accomodation - Handels Muse....

Just spent a relaxing long week-end with friends in the self-catering apartment / barn. Jan was a superb hostess and gave us such a warm and attentive welcome. The comfort and enjoyment we had in this elegant and spotless home and in the lovely gardens was such that we all wished we could have stayed longer - a week at...

My Partner and I stayed in Handel's Muse for a week and didn't want to go home at the end. It was spotlessly clean and the perfect romantic location. With picturesque surroundings and romantic touches throughout the whole of the small barn cottage, I would recommend a stay here to anyone! The owners were extremely helpful and even put together...

We stayed in Handel's Muse for a much needed 3 day break. It is the best self catering accomodation at which we have stayed (and we have stayed in many!) The owners, Jan and Glyn, were so friendly and made us feel very much at home, nothing was too much trouble. The property was spotlessly clean and had the small,...
